Hey guys,

I'm thinking of attending this barcraft, but the thing is, I've never been to one before - is it necessary to know a lot about the game? I watch tournament streams on occasion, but apart from the single player I rarely play the game, think I did a total of 30 ladder games so far...

Just show up, meet other StarCraft-loving nerds, have something to drink enjoy the matches, cheer, rage, shout, feel good.
The matches are commentated and the game is VERY watchable even without deep and Master Yoda-esque knowledge of everything SC2

The last time it was about 60 over the entire day. But this time, the BarCraft will be much shorter (because we start later), which might influence the number of potential attendees.
The promotion will be .. existent this time, which might also have a Considerable effect

I liked The Barcraft site on Facebook so i got the news of this. great the manheim location is still existant!
luckily nothing scheduled right now for the 26. so hopefully i will be able to attend this time.

but the page of the gezet doesn t give that much away about the place itself... is it BYOB or like a real bar?
on a side note how about smokin ?

The GeZet is a student's bar run by students in their free time. Prices are very humane, student's-budget-compatible so to speak. As the don't charge us with anything, It'd be only fair to buy your drinks there, and lots if possible!

Smoking is absolutely permitted.

I will be back in Mannheim from September 20th - Dezember 10th
hopefully there will be some barcrafts then, as I enjoyed it last time I was there.
Unfortunately I cant come this time

Next one on September 16th, WCS Europe Finals, starting 19:00h.
More information on the front page and shortly on facebook.

It's a new venue, so spread the word, participate and have a few drinks

Soccer will be shown that sunday until it's over, which sould be around 19:00h. But there wont be any problems because they have multiple screens/beamers, which could come in handy for tournaments with multiple streams!

Sadly, contrary to what I had been told before i scheduled another event, the problems with the internet connection made another appearence, so ... meh :|
That's the reason why I went looking for another venue.

Gonna test, how many streams can be shown at the same time possibly this weekend.
Location is great, watched soccer there a few times, it's near public transportation and the prices are fine.
What could possibly go wrong!?
