Barcraft is back in Vancouver!

Where: Yagger's Homer and Pender
When: Oct 16th 4pm till late
Who: The SC community. Vancouver fighting.
I wont bore you with too many details,
but the response for the first one was overwhelming. Yagger's is going to do a lot more for us this time, opening up the entire bar, more screens, better sound, more SC2 action.
Expect some other cool stuff!
Working on getting some show matches played by some top premiere Vancouver players.
possibly a raffle, as well as a custom drink menu! more details coming..

yup. Brian, the owner of exp was at last barcraft and will be coming to this one as well. His bar sounds cool, totally check it out.
On a side note, Im designing the drink menu. Would love some ideas for drinks! the more original/funny, the better.

between all the sites, 250 ish responded yes, with about 80ish maybes. However, we all know how facebook events are..
this one is a lot more word of mouth based where as last one was a lot more personal. We will pack the bar, but i highly doubt theres going to be 150 sad nerd faces.

Small thought for any Victoria residents however: perhaps a laptop and a bar with internet connection could be mini barcraft sometime? Not as exciting I know, but hey it's something lol.

This makes me wish I didn't live on Vancouver Island. It's too expensive to come down since I'd have to pay for a hotel as well as drinks. TT

I agree- ferry costs are a hassle just by themselves. But definitely stoked that mainlanders are making this happen in our backyard!

so I came at 5:00pm-ish, and the bar was at max capacity with ~50 people standing outside waiting to get in.

That was pretty awesome - I don't think they were expecting that many people to show up which was unfortunate for those that didn't get in - but glad I happened to have my laptop with me because it streamed pretty well on medium quality for the rest of us that couldn't see the screen. Will make sure to bring emergency lappy to these event juuuuust in case.
I think we will need multiple locations for providence...according to how long the lineup was today
As for those who say they can't make it because of work on Monday - I left after thr finals were done at about 7pm so don't worry it doesn't always have to be a late night!!

I'm crazy for taking this 9pm ferry home tonight just for barcraft.
I am so happy to host barcraft at my place providing we can all get together before hand ...so that I'm not having a bunch of strangers at my place. I'm also down to do exactly what I did tonight - bring the lappy and stream. But the bar has to have decent wireless. If I'm paying bar prices for my drinks I want HD stream. You know?

I headed over after work hoping to make the finals, but I missed them. Nevertheless I had a great time with some of the people still around, and enjoyed some shots, a "6 pool", "Stimpack" and a "Tastosis Love Affair" cocktail among others. Cool people, good Starcraft conversation, and I'll definitely be at the next Barcraft regardless of whether I'll make it in time or not.

absolutely fucking amazing. period.
amazing crowd, met people from all skill levels, had a blast.
me and my friends were the last 3 to get in pretty much, well worth the wait. We made friends with the bartenders and they say the next one will be HUGE with 2 bars atleast (one in kitsilano and one downtown) we tried to teach the owners starcraft but he kept repeating stargate rather than starcraft

We had fun. Would have been cool to get the whole bar going so we could have fit in the people who waited.
I would love to go again! Hopefully we can get in earlier and get a little more room, but other wise this is the best idea ever.

Nice to meet a bunch of new people. Glad I got there early so I had a seat (and actually got in to begin with.) Definitely going to need two locations next time. There's apparently a Gastown location someone has already booked, and Yagger's wants to hold another, like you said.

We had to turn a lot of people away. Some people got there super early and managed to sneak in as the owner got there to set-up. The bar opened at 4. This was the line when it was still small, at 3:30

The back room as of official opening time (though most of those people are the ones who snuck-in early or set-up.) As people were filtered in, this one room became so packed that people could barely move. The handsome gentlemen at the closest table are BCIT members, and the man standing behind us on the left is Barett, who came (again!) from Victoria! This pic taken by another BCIT member -- Cdingo -- so alas, I can not call it mine own. I'm on the far left in the black.
