you should ask Blasterion that question

barcraft makes me so happy
|
If I was actually here for it I'd be so pissed that I couldn't go
|
Went to the last one - it was great! Glad they're taking the time to plan out Raleigh a little better. Also, word to the wise: the Guinness doesn't fall under the 3$ beer specials, and the well drinks are on some sort of happy hour deal (but I forgot exactly what it is... ).
|
Will try to make this one. What kinds of beers do they have there?
|
Guinness! Brilliant! I will also try to make this, as should everyone who likes things that are awesome!

Off the top of my head - Brooklyn Lager, Guinness, Stella, etc. Standard fair.
Edit: Link below - check the cocktails section...Threw me for a loop for a bit; didn't expect to find the beer list on the cocktail page.

12apm is not allowed to come to these anymore b/c of the earlier..."incident"...I however will be there.
The place is like a restaurant during the day so they don't really card at the door. But I believe they will card you for drinks if you order at the bar. I think they start carding at the door around 8/9pm.

Count me in. Can we please come up with some drinking game?

Take a drink everytime -A caster says "So many banelings" -A sign complaining about chairs -A sign complaining about lan -A caster says "all-in" -Any time the game lags or pause -A caster says "Oh my god"
I can't think of any more
|
Will you guys ever be doin other events? I'm moving to manhattan next month but I work as a referee at all the MLG events, but the thought of watching with other fans at a bar is incredible~

i was at the first barcraft at this place and we all had a great time. me and another guy were chatting about zerg and facepalming when DRG was losing to MVP
but the drinks were flowing and it was a GREAT time.
this time if i go (i should be), i will definitely get there earlier. i lucked out because of the issues that the organizers ran into during Boxer VS Rain, but it looks like that won't be happening again thats for damn sure!

Taken from the most commonly used caster phrases

THE LIST OF SILLY OVERUSED WORDS AND PHRASES : It'll be interesting to see... On the field... Standard... Deviation Opting to... What a blunder (thanks to Day[9] for making me do this, jerk!) We are here on... One thing to note... It's the most normal thing in the world Nothing out of the ordinary This is awesome ! He really should have.... He really should be getting... He'll know exaaactly what's coming/what's going on/what his opponent is up to That was a cute/creative play... terrible, terrible damage!

I think I will pop by for a bit, at least. Looking forward to my first experience with BarCraft!

What are my chances of being carded if I turn 21 in a few months?

They'll probably throw you in jail as soon as you try to walk through the door.
I'd be careful if I were you around these parts of town.
|
Awesome! I love Pianos and it's close to my apartment. I'll definitely check it out!
|
Boo was just in NYC this past saturday for a SF4:AE tourny. Will feel too guilty to go again, especially cause I don't earn money this summer .

Drinking game 2.0
Take a drink whenever
A caster says - "All-in" - "On the field" - "Standard" - :Opting to" - "What a blunder" - "One thing to note" - "Oh my god" - "Baller" - "He'll know exaaactly what's coming/what's going on/what his opponent is up to" - "So many banelings"
Whenever - Helions kill workers - A nuke drops - Someone 6-7 pools - Proxy rax - Proxy 2 gate or cannon rushes - The game lags or pause - Banelings blow lots of things up - Dts kill workers - A sign appears on stream
|
Okay i know this sounds stupid, but i want to go. How old do you have to be? Just wondering i'd be cool if 17+ but whatever if i don't go. Because it's so cool. just. saying.

I'm not sure - they weren't really carding last time until later in the evening. If you live in the area, you might as well try. I'm pretty sure it's fairly common for people to walk in just for food during the day, so you might be able to get in. Worst that happens is they turn you away and you're no worse off.
|
Yeah i completely understand why they would card. I was just asking because NJ doesn't have the esports interest minus well meet people who know e-sports

Unfortunately bouncers in nyc are pretty strict..unless you are a hottie

Zeroes drinking game wants us all to get wasted so he can still our minerals! I'm in!

This thread is so conflicting.
I really want to come up to NYC this weekend to hang out with a friend... and go watch some SC2 with all the awesome nerds up there. I am not 21 though. Some people are like-- it's fine if you show up early in the day. Other people are like... nope they are strict. Website says 21+ only. t.t

just don't buy any alcohol and they have no reason to check your id

When you're showing up at a bar/restaurant at 4:00 on a Sunday afternoon, it's not that strict. Of course as a bar it's a 21+ venue, so no one can say that you'll be able to get in for sure. I can say that I wasn't carded at the last barcraft event, nor were the people I was there with, and there wasn't a bouncer at the door when I walked in. If you're considering coming up to NYC for the weekend regardless of this event, come and check it out. It is called barcraft, so don't be surprised if you do get turned away. On the flip side, there are tons and tons of things to do in SoHo and the LES around Pianos if that happens.

I've never gone to Pianos during the day, but pretty much any bar in NYC cards at the door in the evenings.
Bottom line: If it's at all inconvenient for you to come, I wouldn't risk it.

I'm down for barcraft at Pianos, but no if a hurricane is going on....
|
Man, was looking forward to two raves on Fri and Sat and then this on Sun, but then this Irene came out of nowhere! The bar is a walking distance from me however so if there's electricity, I'll be there no matter what.
|
As of right now, I plan on going. I'll edit the post if something else comes up (might be going out with friends instead)
Barcraft Hwaiting!~
|
I already sent him my email
|
Take care guys. Stay safe!

Just got an update that Pianos is CANCELLING the event due to Irene. Sorry peoples, sad news
|
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Oh well, hopefully next time
|
sob we got a shoutout :'(

Man, this blows. Stupid hurricane is no where near as bad as the media is hyping it up. Fuck Irene + Bloomberg is fucking up.
Hope to see everyone at the next one though.

I really hope you're still saying this tomorrow. GL to the New Yorkers, I'm in Boston and it looks like we will avoid the worst of it, but there's not much that compares to the widespread damage from a hurricane. When Ike hit Houston in 2008 there were people who didn't have power for a month, and that was a very similar storm to this one. There are way more people in the Northeast who will be affected.
|
It would be good if people would tweet @PianosNYC to thank them for trying to put the event on. A big response will make them more likely to host future events!
|
If I helped speerhead this, would anyone be down to try and do a last minute GSL barcraft tonight?
