Hi everyone,
I have been an avid TL stream watcher since SC2 came out and decided to make myself a Chrome extension to see who is casting, how many people are watching and with a click - take me to watching it. After using this for a while now and ironing out some bugs I thought I would release it to the Team Liquid Community and stick it on the Google Chrome Extensions site. I have been given permission to do so from the TL Staff.
You can also favourite a caster and you will be notified in the future when they begin broadcasting again.
You can find it here on the Google Chrome Extensions site: Team Liquid Streams
Hope you find it useful and let me know if you have any suggestions for improving it
UPDATE: Thanks for all comments and suggestions! A new version is now available with the following new features:-
Race icons (Thanks TL Staff!) Featured icons Sorting Fixed: Horizontal scrollbar
You should be able to right-click the extension, go to "Manage Extensions..." and update from there
Wow man this is 100% awesome.
Nice work.
ooh nice, im gonna download this when i get back home :D
Wow, thank you. I'll never miss a good stream again
This is amazing! Thanks a lot.
This is awesome, all I'd ask for is some way to distinguish between featured and non.
Now I just need to get adblock to work and I am set! This is so good!
trying it out now... sounds pretty awesome, thanks for sharing!
Just found this on reddit. This is seriously life changing.
This is indeed pretty cool. Nice work
ha ha, suck it firefox/opera users! :p
Suggestions: + Show Spoiler + - it'd be good if you could display it the same way as on TL, with a simple line dividing the featured from non featured streamers.
- try to get a hold of the whole list of streamers, so that you can favorite a streamer even when he's not streaming. (like, I want to favorite Liquid'Huk, but he's not online atm, so I have to wait to catch him online before I can click the favorite button)
Otherwise, good job imo.
Pretty cool man....thanks for doing this!
Awesome. Really like this! Thanks. :D
Put the race icon there! Then this will be perfect.
This is great man love it, featured and non featured and this is gold
This is brilliant, thanks! Would really like to see it more similar to the TL list though, if at all possible. I suppose the option to hide streams would be nice as well. I never watch Terran streams for example, so yeah, some filter options would be nice.
+ Show Spoiler +Best first post I've seen on TL
Very awesome, thanks for the post installed already :D
Wow this is just incredible! :D Great work.
This is really cool thanks a lot!

Thanks for sharing it!
This is awesome ! Thanks !
thanks dude!
as of right now, when i click on the button it scrolls down the list of who is streaming and all is great, but intuitively, when i click the button to make it go away, it stays there!
if at all possible, can pressing the button a second time make it disappear?
other than that, super awesome! thanks!
This is excellent. Very much appreciated!
Awesome
Would be cool if you could see events listed but you can just look at viewers.
I will say with confidence that this is actually better than the TL Stream List, lol. I hate having to go to the specific TL page to figure out who is streaming the race I want to view, >_<. Huge thanks for removing that constant pain! Awesome idea, and I can definitely see myself using this a LOT. :D

other than that, super awesome! thanks! I have that issue with my only other extension (Chromey Calculator). So I'm not sure if that's just how extensions work or both of these are just not programmed to do that.
Perfect extension! Not too invasive and nice to look at. Thanks so much!

oh shit. yeah my other extensions do that as well.
wonder why i only noticed that for that extension. LOL
sorry! ignore me if you can't do it...
This should be Spot Light worthy ! :D
Actually can't believe this, I fall asleep.. wake up. Remember the extension and click it to see who's streaming and it's already updated? Really good work dude.
Hey, I gave it a quick look and it's AWESOME. I think the only thing that's missing is the [BW] [SC2] [MISC] tags, but I have no idea what goes into making an extension. It's handy, simple and a perfect feature to have. I might just have to use chrome more
Just got it, I think it's SO COOL it just made chrome that much better. Thank you!
Great extension!Thanks a lot!
One suggestion I have is adding a refresh button, because it only checks the stream list at browser startup.
this is really awesome - just a quick question, does it use much bandwidth? I only ask because i've got a limited usage cap per month.
really neat mod though, 2 thumbs up!
Great extension. Installed.
I want this for firefox T_T
Oh man! it doesnt take long to install! great job!

It should be updating once every 10 minutes itself in the background, if you think it is not then send me a pm and I will look into it

It uses approx 4-10KB per 10 minutes for its refresh, max of 20-30MB per month at a guess.
Thanks once again for all the great comments!
wow this is sick!! instant install for me thanks a ton!
i can actually just repeat what most people here already said...good work! simple extension but has all features to be a useful. works without any problems so far and loads quite fast...
n1 job, it worked instantly without me doing anything, I love it.
Works great thanks
perhaps you could open source it so it wont rot in case you wont have the time to maintain it . great contribution thanks.
This plugin bumped me right into the masters league, my boss has given me compliments and a raise, and I have to keep a baseball bat around at all times to smash off the hordes of ladies.
I would recommend people who cannot withstand the awesomeness to not download this plug in, its clearly only for ballers. A regular person would not be able to keep the strain up from the sheer power it emits directly into the brain.
10/10

Ya this is the only thing would like to see added now.
But thank you for this.

Hmm it seems SlayerS_Cella doesn't appear in the stream list? Is it just me?
Looking forward to seeing any new features down the track, great job, Chrome <3
I also can't see Cella for the record
On February 03 2011 17:05 Godstorm wrote: Hmm it seems SlayerS_Cella doesn't appear in the stream list? Is it just me?
You are correct, I am getting that too.
Anyways, can there be a more obvious separation between the featured and non-featured?
Cella is Cancella because that's his livestream account name.
this is kwwwl but would also be awesome if it were on firefox aswell :D
AWESOME! i love chrome extensions, this one is one of the best :D
Great extension, but not great enough to make me switch from Firefox to Chrome.
especially not with FF4 coming out (i can't wait zomg!? (shut up I know there's a beta already but I'll have none of that))
I did, however, just realize that this might cause some people to switch from FF to chrome, making them unable to block ads in streams. very clever
On February 03 2011 17:05 Godstorm wrote: Hmm it seems SlayerS_Cella doesn't appear in the stream list? Is it just me?
As CooDu pointed out the stream names are currently the streamers usernames. Would people like me to change this to the title of the stream instead?
The list should be refreshing every 10 minutes. If you do not think it is you can right-click the extension icon, go to manage extensions, click developer mode and select background.html, over in the console tab it should show when it is updating.
TL Staff wanted me to add in an idle checker, so if your not using your browser for more than 10 minutes it stops refreshing until you come back. This may be why some people's lists are not refreshing.
This addon is soo good. Love it!
hey i love this thing, but could you please add another feature on the extension to when a favorited stream pops up that it plays a mp3? If it is supposed to play a sound, can you add the option of us changing what sound it makes?
Have been finding this really useful and the people I've recommended it too have really liked it as well. Is there a chance you can add the option to have favourited streams at the top of the list?
this thing is aweomse great work man!
DUDE, this is freaking amazing. Seems so simple yet so amazing at the same time, thank you.
can you make it for Opera?
awesome! glad you decided to share this :D
Could you make it so when you click on featured, its shows the featured in largest viewer number (like this is already) then normal streams with viewer count dsecending? now its kinda random past the featured.
great extension btw
very nice, waiting untill tyler goes streaming hehe!
If you make it for Firefox, please let us know...

You are a god amongst men. Thanks

I demand this for firefox :-)
A+
Well done sir, and thank you.
You're my hero, thank you. <3
This is an awesome extension :D I do have a suggestion though. Could you also include whether they are streaming SC2 or BW please? I think it would make the list of streamers much easier to scan through.

This is amazing! Great work, man. <3

Thank you so much for this! I'm so glad I'll have a way to know when people are online that doesn't include signing up for each streaming site and obsessively checking Twitter!
I'd like to echo the suggestion of having a way to favorite people even when they're not online.
This was his first post? @_@ Starting your TL posting with a bang! This will be the only Chrome extension I ever use. I was looking for something along the lines of this, and BAM You made it. Thanks SOOOOO much for this. You just made finding my favorite streams so much easier. <333
This is super cool, thanks!
I've now officially switched over to Chrome from Firefox because of this addon.
Thanks for your work!
Hi everyone,
I've been trying to get in contact with xocekim with no luck, in the meantime I've added a "Type" column and allowed sorting by it ( I was tried of picking BW streams by accident ) and am currently working on implementing sorting by favorites/featured then viewer count. Hopefully I'll get in contact with him so that we can get this update pushed out to the rest of the users, otherwise I'll start my own code branch.
Thanks to xocekim for this great base to work from though!

One small feature that I'd like to see is so that, when you have the list open, clicking the icon again will close the list rather than flashing it closed before quickly bringing it back up. When I check it I like to be able to click on and click off rather than having to click somewhere on the page my browser is currently on.
Another big one that might be part of what Fyresoul is doing is that I'd like all of the featured streamers at the very top. Adding tags for [SC2], [BW] and [Misc] would be awesome. Maybe we can even get an option later on to add the event streams in so that we'll have the ultimate TL stream extension! Adding an options menu to turn certain things off (i.e. what tags [SC/BW/Misc] show up and stuff like that) would also be pretty damn sweet. (So, yeah, I'm basically asking for the ultimate implementation of what is already on the sidebar of TL.)
Again, thank you so much for this! It's really helpful and encourages people to use a browser that doesn't block ads (yet) (not saying that I'm not guilty of ad-blocking on occasion).
installed, thanks for this!
I have used this plugin for only a few days and already I am in love with it; thank you so much for making this!
only for Google Chrome >? i use mozila

Awesome extension!
I also don't see the BratOK stream so that's a little bug. For some reason BratOK's stream is under "razy", so everyone who misses a player, probably it's there, but under a different name
Maybe alerts for when specific streams come online? Great work!

As stated previously stream names are currently the streamers usernames.
If I don't hear back from xocekim by next Friday I'll upload a new revision that takes care of this issue as well.
