We are very easily BARTable. Last BART gets to Downtown Berkeley at about 12:29pm. First BART leaves from Downtown Berkeley at about 6am on Sat morning.
WHEN: the evening of Friday, Dec. 17. We'll kick everybody else out of the store at 11:59 on Friday, Dec. 17. We'll watch the festivities live from Korea starting at 1am our time on what is technically "Saturday, Dec. 18". haha.
I'd like to host a tournament on Friday afternoon-evening, BEFORE the finals this time. We were pretty tired when we did the tournament AFTERWARDS last time, haha. Time and details TBD.
HOW MUCH $?: Three pricing options...
- $5 gets you in the door
- $15 (total) gets you in the door + pizza + two fridge drinks
- $20 (total) gets you in the door + pizza + two fridge drinks + computer pass from midnight to 8am + Judy will bring popcorn and maybe a cake if enough people show up =D
The total is the same as last time. Let me know if you have any feedback! In particular, I have a raging hardon for what the Toronto community is doing. Maybe we can start doing stuff in theaters too....??? Next time?

One of the founder-owners is a linguistics phd student at Berkeley. Wikipedia has this to say about eudaimonia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eudaimonia .... "sometimes Anglicized as eudemonia". I have never studied Greek in my life, so I don't know how common your "Eudamonia" spelling is, but I've only ever seen it "eudaimonia" or "eudaemonia". At this point I would like to state that my opinions on this matter of naming are not officially endorsed by Eudemonia and do not necessarily represent their views.
All I'm saying is that the naming of their store was deliberate and so was the spelling of aforementioned name. LOL
Also, the light going across peoples' faces in the picture is not sunlight. It is the light from the projector. This time, we're going to move the projector and set it up somewhere where the picture can be bigger and more people can see it. However, in the picture, you CAN see sunlight way behind us, against the far back wall, because the sunlight is streaming in from the skylights above. Because we were up all night. We were very tired and the picture was last-minute. I herded everyone together and had actually just found out how to use the timer on my camera, and I had to set it up on the counter on a stack of fat packs. Huzzah!!
TL;DR: I need to get a hobby. I hear playing Starcraft is a good one, or knitting, or maybe singing "TROLLOLOLOLOO HO HO HO HO HOOO" at the top of my lungs. Any suggestions?

Come as early as you can. I'm going to be there by 5pm. Let's get a tourney going as soon as people start getting here. My original plans was a single-elimination quick tourney, but that requires everyone to be there at the same time, and a lot of computers available.... the problem is, people are probably gonna trickle in over the evening, AND Friday nights are kind of crazy for us.
My new proposal: run one (or more) King-of-the-Hill. We can throw in a few $s each that dOpa will hold on to (lol) over the course of the night, and you can win some of the pot by achieving a winning streak of.... 5? 7? help me come up with a good number.
This way, people who get here early can begin playing, and as more people show up, we can fit them in easily. Also, it'll take up fewer computers. Does this sound good? Please tell me. Call my google voice number at (510) 859-3681 and give me suggestions. We're down to the wire here!!!!!!!
At midnight, we're gonna clear the store of non-starcrafters, so we're gonna have all the computers+space available. WOOOOOO I CAN'T WAIT

A final note: if you are in the south bay and would like to stay closer to home, find out if Euphnet is also hosting a party (I don't know if they are). Euphnet is a great LAN center & the owner of Eudemonia goes there to play sometimes, cuz he's from the south bay himself. =) Maybe together, we can shout so loud that they'll hear us in Korea! So are you guys doing KOTH still, are there comptuers already there or would i need to bring one? I'm still trying to talk to the wife if she wants to go. Like 50/50 chance i can make it tonight, depends on how my wife is feeling later on.
Edit: You mentioned that there are computers for use, do these have other games installed such as wow? My wife might only be a little entertained by the event, but if the computers had wow on them then that might make things a little better.

Thank you for the positivity, everyone. This community is truly awesome. I can only see e-sports getting bigger, and I can't wait.
Things I learned/will try to do next time:
1) Order more pizza. Maybe have stamps on the back of our hands showing who threw in for pizza so we don't get a crazy stampede. If you paid for pizza and missed out, please contact me via PM, judy.933, email (judytuna@eudemonia.net), or call the store and ask for Dean.
2) King of the Hill is actually really fun and entertaining to watch in a crowd. If we do a KOTH next time, I will make sure to save 3 computers for myself to use for the KOTH, and set up the projector with an observer, and so on. I will also announce a start time earlier lol. I will also think about drawing names out of a hat (maybe). I also have this grand idea of making it a double-elimination king of the hill... after you get knocked out of the starcraft KOTH, you go to fight to be the Prince of the Kinect Adventures Obstacle Race hill. LOL
2.5) I read through the Toronto thread, and they set up an ONLINE tournament that was played beforehand, with the finals played live in their theater. I really like the sound of this. Maybe we should do it locally for us, too!
2.75) Also, the Toronto theater guys set up a showmatch. We should talk about setting up showmatches with our local bay area talent, too! Who would you guys like to see?
3) We would like to get a 2nd projector to accommodate more people! We had ~72 people show up this time =D
