Good stuff.

Why is this thread allowed and this thread isn't?
The second one was an interview with scan before it got nuked.

My take was:
Dimaga has redeemed himself for his one-time slip up. Lastscan is hell-bent on self-promotion, has never redeemed himself, and is not part of this community.

Or is it just so many bans are so easy (woo, image macros) that you can macro SC2 streams and bans? Yes, we are bothered/annoyed by it. Even though so many are easy to spot like image macros, that doesn't make it less bothersome.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just let LR threads fester for a few days, and go on a banning spree once it's all over? I don't see any major flaws, since it's far more convenient for the mods. Alternatively you could temporarily give mod power to someone who doesn't watch streams and have them handle it, perhaps pay them? It would have to be someone trustworthy though, like long time contributor.

I really don't like SC2, so I'm more than happy to watch the threads. There are actually quite a few in the staff who don't care for SC2 either, so we can hold down the fort pretty well. During MLG Day 3 I was just going through each page as it happened, and Plexa/Excal/Aesop/some others I think were also combing through the thread/reports. I was also the one who wrote the (apparently) draconian public note. Went to sleep after a while, though, and I think other people stepped up.
As for why we don't just not moderate the thread, it's because it would turn to shit really fast without anyone there to ban people in real-time.

I've never seen any Liquibets for SC2. Am I missing them? If there aren't any are there plans to ever implement them? From the first moment I lurked here I loved this idea.

are you sure you are clicking on the right one? on the top left of your screen "Open liquibets: X/X" the number on the left is for BW liquibets, the number on the right is for SC2 liquibets.

edit- put in spoiler. edit again: LOL, this got me good. edit 3 - removed this, please disregard

It's probably the best scripted picture I've ever seen. If you logout and refresh the page a couple of times it says "Ban?" which is probably super confusing for the Lurkers.

If you had to all go out and get something to eat, and all wanted to go different resturants, who would get their way?

I.. I always thought the right one was total bets.
I'd go put this in the "dumbest moment" thread but I think I should just quit before I get any more special tonight.
Thank you for responding. I'm going to go pretend I didn't ask that.

LR threads would turn into a complete shit fest and spiral out of control if there was no real time moderation during and they were allowed to do just whatever they want and not be cleaned up until later.

maybe this has been asked earlier in the thread: has any mod of TL ever been banned/warned by another and/or his post deleted or edited because it was inappropriate?
