Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion. For regular posters, don't quote the trolls.

Grieven and Boba Fett 17 (I'm super original and cool). @"Straight-acting" gay people debate: As with anything else, putting yourself out there is the best way (in my experience) to find these sorts of guys. It's both how I generally act - though I love Destiny's Child - and also how people I'm attracted to generally act. Going out and meeting people through mutual friends has generally worked out for me. Also, if people ask me about my girlfriend or whatever at work, I'm absolutely going to respond about my boyfriend. There's no real reason to just throw it out there, but if people are interested in my personal life (and I like talking to them), I don't see any reason to be anything other than upfront about it.

I am really thankful for your insights in this thread, I quite honestly feel enlightened. I am a straight man who has always had this common belief, and i feel unjustified opinion: That it's okay to be gay, as long as you're not overly flamboyant and proud and do parades etc, as if you're somehow "better" than others. With your discussion on mannerisms and so forth, I have come to the understanding that homosexuals act the way they do not because they think they're better than everyone, but rather because they're tired of being ashamed of their mannerisms. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart, because I really do feel like a better person after coming to this understanding.

Or is it something that happens during puberty etc. A friend of a friend of mine who is gay says you automatically think you are straight until you know. Thoughts? Well, you grow up and aren't really introduced to the possibility of being gay until later. For instance, I can remember being at a pool when I was younger and thinking this guy was attractive, but I didn't necessarily think that wasn't a normal thought. I didn't contemplate my sexuality when I was seven or whatever. When I was in middle school (so around 12 or 13) is when I first started thinking that I was gay. Prior to that, I didn't really identify as anything sexually. It just wasn't something I had thought about. I imagine the answer probably changes person to person.

Before puberty kids usually aren't sexually aware, so they don't identify themselves as gay, even though they are. In response to that last sentence; I don't really agree with the wording, but basically, as Solinos also mentioned, you don't think of those thoughts or attractions as being not normal.

You might not need to post it HERE, but no one says u cant do it in the "photo" section of your profile page ![]() Also, @ post about knowing when we are gay: As many said, we only discover it at puberty. At a yougn age, we have an infantile mentality. We cant really make the links between liking men and being gay. Plus, we have probably not heard the word (except as a connotative insult) enough at that stage of our lives. But I ahve to say, the whole experience of sexual self-discovery is rather... intriguing.

I'm 18 here and there. I am actually young - 19 this October. That is a few days ago, but its right after I shaved, among other things so I look a bit more prepubescent. I actually have nearly no photos. That is my only recent one (as in the last year or two).
