***UPDATE*** 8/26/10
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!
As of this moment NCSU crew has qxc and his two rl friends flying in tonight to stay with us. Suggy and masq will be driving down and arriving tonight as well. Cauthonluck will be landing tomorrow morning and staying with us.
Greatorp and tt1 will be arriving and hanging out today until they can check into their hotel rooms.
If I have missed anyone or you need a place to stay, it is important that you call me on my cell ASAP.
Friday night: After everything ends Friday anyone who wants to come to NCSU is welcome. We will be playing Sc2, watching the msl finals, and whatever else. We are inviting anyone and everyone.
PLEASE BRING PC'S IF YOU HAVE THEM!!!!!
Saturday: At the end of the day all of TL is meeting up at the event and we will go as a group to some place to eat. We will decide everything at that time. EVERYONE should come with us! Our amazing casters, players, spectators, friends and family, and whoever else should definitely come. Will be a lot of fun.

Yep, they're $25.
There is a ton of stuff going on at the event though. Aside from a huge amount of people and a general upbeat gaming atmosphere, there are sponsor booths with games, contests, and prizes. A bunch of spectator areas, and all the Dr. Pepper, Stride Gum and Hot Pockets you can consume.

OK, roommates are cool with people crashing here. I will have crash space for 2-4 people depending on how much space everyone needs. It's all gonna be floor space so bring pillows/blankets. My apartment's like 15-20 minutes from the venue, not much farther than the NC State guys and honestly we'll be seeing the NCS guys because I swear to god if they host a bunch of players and don't show up at the saucer I'm going to hunt down ever single one of them and make them beg for mercy.

Having said that, if you need somewhere to stay, PM me and we'll work it out. Like I said it's an apartment floor, it's not great but it's free, so if the NC State rooms fill up we can still help out.

Coming to this. Looking forward to an epic weekend with MSL finals and great SC2 watching/playing.
Would've been nice if we could've all LANned together, but it looks like we'll have to settle for playing on b.net in the same room.

I would like to have a TL dinner at I Love new York Pizza on Hillsborough street on Saturday night. They have great food and it should be pretty sweet if everyone comes -) We will also try and host a MSL finals viewing in one of the lounges. I will see about getting it reserved for Saturday night and we can hook a computer up to the TV to watch the stream.

msl finals is gonna be on friday night not saturday night. we should do "official" TL meetup on saturday night imo since all the players will be done with their games and will be free to drink as much as they want. of course tl.netters should meet up for MSL finals too if they want but i think it'd be nice to get as many ppl in the same place on saturday night too.

At least for Friday night, I think the plan is pretty clear (since options are limited -- no dinner, must watch MSL finals). But Paiilicious is organizing that. MLG SC2 games are scheduled to end at 11:30pm. Then folks are gonna head about 3.5 miles from the venue to near (or on?) NCSU campus and hang out until MSL finals is on (start at 5:00am -- good luck with that).
For Saturday night, I think all TL.net folks should sort of congregate after the SC2 finals end and head off to dinner.

Oh, I was thinking msl was Saturday night, my bad. Okay, after games on Friday night anyone who would like to come hang out at NCSU campus and play sc and stay up all night to watch msl is welcome to come. Just find me at the venue or pm me to get my cell #. If it gets to be to many people we can move into a lounge. Other wise we can just hang out in our suit.
For Saturday, I agree with Nony. We can just group up after the event and mob some place for some good food.

There are many options for Saturday dinner. Fayetteville St. has some nice (and pricey) restaurants (including a nice sushi/japanese steakhouse, assuming it's still open), but at least they're close to the venue.
Other options...depends on money concerns and transportation. I wouldn't mind shuttling some people if they don't have rides.

Keep in mind that matches start at 10am on saturday so if you are a player that makes it past day one, you'll have to choose between this and sleeping.

I'm down for whatever on Saturday night and even Sunday, since I'll be there all weekend. I'll also have a car there so I can have at least four folks ride along with me if we end up going somewhere off of Fayetteville St.
I'll keep checking this thread from my phone throughout the weekend, but I have a feeling plans are going to be made in person, since we don't really have one single person organizing a full-on meetup in advance.

I promise you that everyone there including broadcasters, staff and players are all super friendly and easily accessible when not otherwise occupied, just say "hey, nice job" or "JP, you could do better!". It's all good.
Most of the time I'll be wearing a black zip-up hoodie (it gets cold as balls in the tournament area sometimes), feel free to come say hey

I've met a good amount of TL people before and all I can say is just talk to them like people lol, there are very few progamers, ex-pros, or commentators that aren't approachable with just a "hi, great work, my name is _____, love what you do". I've seen many a people who'll be sitting in a corner being super quiet and to themselves because they think these guys have some celebrity status in their minds, but dont' worry, most of them don't have inflated egos and are easy to talk to (especially day9, assuming he's not busy).
PS: For any large TL gathering (and trust me, this will be large) you better be sure to get a reservation for any dinner place you go to, after one of the beta LAN's in DC back in May, we needed a 30 person reservation, and this was just for a local LAN, not a big MLG event.
Just be sure to call in advance and ask for a reservation, and better to overbook than underbook it.

Look forward to seeing everyone. I'll be meeting up with Paliicious. I have a hotel room right near the venue that is already paid for at a Days Inn. Internet ready, I'm bringing my beast PC with me, if anyone wants to bring another PC over we can run some games of SC2. I'm less than a mile from the venue. Anyone is welcome, as long as you love the game of SC.

More excited! I'll be heading down there sometime around 3:30 or 4:00. Definitely willing to come chill with OP and everyone at the end of the day. I have a laptop I can bring for SC2.
My friend also plays SC2, but he hasn't been paying attention to the Raleigh meetup thread. I'll fill him in.

The SC2 pre-game show begins at 5pm EST with the first match at 5:30pm EST

Well how about anyone interested in meeting at the marriot tries to post something along the lines of hanging out in the lobby and going from there? My friends and I are staying here so it'd be really easy for us to pop downstairs. I'm too keyed up on mt dew at this point to sleep any time soon anyway lol

I get out of class at 3 tom. and its a 50 minute drive to the venue so I will be arriving around 430 ishh. I would love to play some starcraft 2 so I am bringing my laptop hope to see you all there!

Oh man I'm so excited for this.
I think it'll be my first official time playing SCII since the two games of Beta I played don't count. Honestly though, MSL finals woot woot.
