Can someone else confirm this?
A friend told me that there are special guest accounts they use for LAN shops... So that doesn't actually exist?

Trust me, it's worth it. All WoW players should know how many accounts get hacked, and it will only be a matter of time before SC2 accounts get compromised, as the hackers won't know that you're exclusive to SC2 or not. They are just aiming for Bnet accounts. How do the authenticators work? After authenticating it on battle net, when you try to login into your account, there will be a bar that says " authentication code ". After you key in your username and password, they will ask for the authentication code. That is where you turn to your iphone or andriod powered phone with the battle net authenticator application launched. then there will be a few numbers that show up. key in those few numbers under the auth code bar. Everytime you log in, you'll have to do that. does the authenticator require internet? cos i'm using an ipod touch, and if the authenticator app requires internet connection (wifi), then it's not point for me..
yeah it requires wifi

Yeah quite mafan... Also should I get Starhub or Singtel broadband? I live in an apartment so Singtel would be better right? I'm thinking about the new 10mbps for like $42/month plan. Should be fast enough for me and it's pretty cheap.

As far as I know, the lan shop i go to has to use your own account for SC2. Not sure about other lan. Mind to ask your firend about which lan he went to that has the 'special lan account' ? THX

From what I know as one of my ex-basketball teammembers run a LAN shop, most LAN shops purchased the retail edition, so there is still no actual LAN, because you are still using the BNET network.
Blizzard made a SC2 Professional edition which is supposedly used for LAN in tournaments, so I doubt any LAN shops bought these versions.
I have a Ipod Touch as well, but I bought my token authenticator from ComicsConnection for only SGD15. It looks like any other token if you do electronic banking. The phone authenticators require broadband to sync every now and then.
I'll be at the colossium on Sunday so hope you guys have fun

Guys I just checked this out, as the mentioned lan shop is right beside my company's training academy.
For the gathering this sunday, homeground lan shop has SEA ver sc 2 on all its comps, so no worries abt special guest accounts for this particular lan shop : )
