So having bought tickets to LA from Denmark, me and my brother realised that public transportation outside of downtown LA is pretty much nonexistant.
This means that we're in somewhat desperate need of someone who has room in a car (or something similar) for 2 persons and who's driving from somewhere in LA to and from the party.
If someone was able and willing to do us that favour we'd be in near endless debt and will of course pay any related expenses + the 25$ covering the Countdown party ticket.

In American you can rent cars. 
Edit: If you are dead set on using public transit, use:
http://socaltransport.org/tm_pub_start.php
to plan your route.
I've just tested and though I don't know your starting position, I can confirm that it is indeed possible to get to Harvey Mudd from LA City Hall :D

hey i'm flying in for it and in the same boat you guys are in. Let me know if you find out something, already speniding a lot on this trip don't want to pay more for a taxi or something.

Okay, so we've decided to rent a car. As we've already spent a lot of cash on getting to LA a few more bucks won't make much of a difference. We've got room for 2 (maybe 3) more who'd be willing to split gas.
So if anyone wants in, please post in this thread and/or send me an email on the adress posted in first post. We'll try to arrange some kind of pickup-spot for people (preferably close to some metroline or other) which I'll announce later this week.

Yo, if you guys are still got space, with my friend and I would be really happy to get a ride and are down to pitch for the gas. We're arriving in downtown LA at around 8am on the 26th and can walk wherever you want within reason. Hope it can work out, if not see you there!

Is anyone else starting out in LA? Wondering if I should start making plans to take the San Bernardino train or if a carpool is a more likely option.

The train idea isn't looking like a bad option, but I was just wondering since a car is still shorter. If any of the carpools/arrivals want to hang out beforehand though, just let me know when you're arriving. I'm trying to arrange some sort of pre-departure hang-out somewhere in L.A. I'm pretty sure you could twitter a message when you get to the airport. I expect there will be hundreds of people trying to get to Harvey Mudd too.

Just wanted to say THANKS! for all your replies in this thread. Even though it turned out that me and my brother didn't need public transportation anyway, I hope that someone else found your info useful.
Also we had a great trip (and managed to pick up a couple of TL guys on the way), so mad props and huge shoutout to this community for being so AWESOME as it is.
Party was absolutely great, and worth every penny and every single second of transit time. Having got a hug from both Day[9] and Day[9]'s mom, I can now die happily.
Once again: Thank you so much guys, for being so very helpful.
