Hi, Although I started this thread, I'd like to ask you to take over organization. I am far to busy with work over the next few weeks to commit time =( no joke, even though im in waterloo atm, i am currently not enrolled therefore i will let monk do da job

It's on the other end of campus, but MKV's multipurpose room is big enough to fit a sizeable LAN and has wireless internet running through it.
|
The best bet is a lecture hall on the weekends. There's a few nice big ones in RCH that fit the bill.

do you guys think campus wireless would be fine (even if we r hving 10 or more people connecting to BNet through same access point) or we need to find a wired place?
also i dont really know what we actually gona do there... BW or sc2? will anyone in the UW BW team available for show match....?
as this speed the meeting will be near spring 2010 mid term :D

Yeah, the wireless should be good enough to play on iccup or bnet, I've done it quite a lot since my internet at home is so bad that I've often had to go to the school to play. :|

I'm considering switching into pure math, if that means anything

we have a prof in our school, Yu-Ru Liu, she has a pure math Ph.D from harvard. And she ended up teaching me Calc 2 with such a prestigious degree. I'd imagine she does some hardcore research on the side, and I know she teaches a lot of the PMATH courses, but ask yourself if you wanna end up being a prof/researcher

im so touch T__T, long hvnt see people love math such like u T__T... (cs major FTWWW)
@Jyvblamo: i mean many people connect to a same router as a same time... if you hv been to dc lib or CND you will understand the situation T__T
@antimage: yo dawwggg, i heard you are Canadian representative for Canada vs USA and you lost badly :|, r u up for a show match

yu ru liu is probably the most caring/responsible prof i've ever had.
one day i was sitting in class, and when class was over, she pointed at me and told me to stay and talk to her. i thought i got busted cheating with assignments or something. turns out she said i was wasting my time learning nothing in the basic classes and should take advanced classes.
i've never talked to her before that so i guess she looks through the grades of her students and gives advice out. well i tried enrolling into advanced classes next term, but quest, what a piece of shit web app, wouldn't enroll me into any of them.
oh well, take yu ru liu if you can! her english is not so great, but she's really willing to help you if you need it

u guys hvnt known about Alfred Menezes yet. once you go to his class for 1 week, he remember YOUR FACE and YOUR NAME no matter where you try to hide yourself. i took math 145 in fall2009 and came to class 4~5 times for the whole semester and he just greet me in Timhorton just now T__T... "he does care about his student, lot lot lot" rate him (and most of the prof in adv. courses) 5 stars
edit: back to topic, after we manage to find a place and book for it, a new topic will be create to re collect names and nicknames of people coming :|

yay, got accepted into SE, going fall. out of curiousity, are there piano rooms in waterloo where u can book out time to practice or something?
|
Yes there are.
I take it this needs to be moved into community?
|
How many rooms are there and how available are they (how many times u can book a room, how big are they)?
