Everything is planned thoroughly. Including that winrate. Otherwise he won't stay at Normal Skill tier. Everything is for the sake of KDA.

My guess is Valve HQ in Seattle? It has been going down a lot this weekend.

That guy is glorious. X-D
Anyway...QQ about pub misconceptions. I had a guy on my team last night who stated: - Naga isn't a hard carry, maybe a semi-carry. - AM can easily outcarry Naga. - Spectre is a terrible carry. Really easy to outcarry. - AM and PA are the two strongest carries in the game.
I had to mute at that point to avoid my brain melting.

That guy is a fucking legend. You have to respect the shadow blade and yasha on zeus, doesn't get more pub item build than that.

This is not ingame but...
Why TL doesnt have a PR flag ;_;

I'm starting to fucking hate jungle enigmas.
Here's what usually happens: we have weaker lanes because of an afk jungler. He gets a blink at around 7, 8 minutes, goes to a lane, blinks in, blackholes (number of targets inside blackhole range from 0-2), then goes back to afk jungling. By the next time he blackholes something, the game is already lost.
NO. BUY A MEK AND PUSH. FUCKING DO SHIT, YOU'RE SO POWERFUL.
I'd rather he buys a goddamn midas than a blink first, that way at 40 minutes I don't have a completely useless teammate that's only good for stunning 2 people and then getting us all killed.
another misconception - just because the lane is 2vs1, doesn't mean we have to try and kill the offlaner. Just bully him outside of experience range, waste his regen and go pull to keep the creep equilibrum so that the offlaner is out of exp range. NOPE, GOTTA TRY AND KILL HIM AAAAAAAAAAAND YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD.
this game's infuriating.

Nightmare game where I go Jugg, get agro tri-laned vs an Axe, veng and SS. Pudge comes down to help, can’t hit a hook to save his life and our poor omi is so poor he can’t get a soul ring. The rest of our team buys useless items and Ax becomes a tiny god.
Even with a terrible start and being forced to abandon lane, I still have the most kills and most farm of the entire team somehow.
Then I play with a lifestealer who goes armlet into vlads because he is against void and “needs the life steal”. And we have a bara that keeps charging cross map rather than using TPs, shows up in lane with no stun and everyone just walks away from him.

We pick two dual lanes, Omni+Lycan safe and (me)Sven and Skywrath bot. Last pick jungle Axe...
So I end up mid as Sven vs Veno and only get xp out of that, still manage to find a 2 kill 0 death start for myself. Meanwhile Sky has to solo offlane. I roam bot to gank with invis, Sky silences and focuses Doom instead of Dazzle so nothing comes out of that...
Lycan rushes Necrobook, doesn't push till they are raxing us. At this point game is still winnable, I have secured myself Blink/BKB/Crystalus. But as they enter highground Skywrath TP's in middle of their push and gets instagibbed while Lycan doesn't bother joining the fight and just rats their T1 tower instead so we're down to defend with my Sven, Omniknight that hasn't done anything but repel himself all game and Axe that has nothing but mobility items. Lycan does get through their T2 in the time it took them to clear our base.
At least next game I went 24-1 even though our Soul Ring+Arcane Boots Tiny fed their Meepo into 5-0 early on. Core hero thats at one point 0/9/5 shouldn't be allowed to win games.
This is partly my fault as I did queue with my 2.7k MMR friend but at least he's not the one to go full retard, somehow these games were Very High skill too...

Happened to me last night. I had a guy on my team playing Void who told us that Void wasn't a carry, let alone a hard carry and that it was our fault if we lost for not picking carries. That game, I was solo support as Jakiro, we had an Axe, Ember Spirit and Sniper on the team.
Given the opposing lineup, the Sniper pick was a horrible pick (randomed as did ES but still), I think I lost 20 minutes of my life hearing/seeing him spewing complaints about our draft for the wrong reasons before muting him.

How can someone that goes deso ---> HoD be at my level? I don't understand. Seriously, how can you be at 3.5k mmr (not that it's very high but it's slightly above average) and not know that deso and lifesteal doesn't stack? I'm starting to think maybe game knowledge isn't important at all unless you're at 5-6k and only mechanics helps you win the game.
While I'm on the subject, why do players in pub LOVE desolator? A simple crystalis is much cheaper and scales much better into the late game. A few days ago a faceless void rushed it, didn't even get brown boots. I read all of these stories in this thread and think to myself "man this guy must be at 1k mmr or smth" but then these weird item choices and overall lack of knowledge about the game seems irrelevant to your mmr.
I don't care so much if you die alot and have terrible farm and make some xboct dives, we all have games that we just weren't meant to win, but why do people 80% of the time buy the wrong items? I see invokers all the time rushing agha, without even a blink or force staff, I see weavers without a linkens or bkb (when they actully need both in that game) I see battlefury on void, I still see vanguard on razor and I almost never see manta unless they are playing anti mage, instead they buy SnY because it gives better stats but they never think about the purge and being able to disjoint. I had a spectre the other day asking me why I thought he should buy manta.
I know not everyone in pubs watches as much dota as I do but I feel like I should have big edge when playing in pubs. Stopping for a minute and look at what you're up against and then start thinking about what you need is not very hard but some people just follow guides or simply buy the same items they always buy because it has worked for them in the past, and maybe that build is pretty good but sometimes you really do need both linkens and bkb on weaver, sometimes the enemy has not a single single target spell and you don't need linkens but some people still buy it because that's just a core item on weaver...
Really had to get this off my chest, I wan't to tell every team I end up with when I que but there is no time and even if there was I'm not sure I'd do it because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't listen to me anyway.

Going 14-3-15 on an offlane timber and still losing because the rest of the team is braindead is fun...

Honestly I still get UAM / Orb / buff interactions confused. I've built double UAMs on heroes and seen heroes with natural UAMs get items that conflict... It's not the most concise set of mechanics, and I couldn't tell you with any confidence what an ulted desolator MoM brood would be hitting for / with / lifestealing with / anything. It makes sense to me that people fuck that up.

"We are good players" "Don't worry, we will take care of this" - Dual stack in response to me saying that they shouldn't play both mid and carry. Obviously the guy that played carry of the two were way lower mmr then the mid player and couldn't do anything to carry the game and we lost. The guy he was stacking with even flamed him.
Just in general, I wish people that stack togheter would have enough common sense to not pick all the cores amongst themselves, it always sucks for the other people in the game.
|
^ My #1 beef with stacks is they just love to disregard the solo-queuers who end up with them. Ignoring us tactically or strategically and/or not communicating or taking any feedback on their communications if they do. #NotAllStacks and all that but so many of them.
As for mechanic interaction I try to be informed but I also mess things up some times (I've made this exact same HoD/Deso mistake in fact). There are far worse sins which is why someone may make it fairly high in MMR while fucking up mechanics. Some other things that I think would filter people away from me I don't understand and I wonder the same thing.
Back on stacks I was odd-man-out two games in a row. A pair of two-stacks in one game who just straight-up fucking ignored my pings and everything and got me killed because they only paid attention to each-other, sucked, lost the game. Next game was a four-stack and for a bit I thought it would work out the exact same way (the WD told me to buy my own wards, as mid, if I wanted wards) but we won so my keyboard is still intact, etc.
