hard to imagine a core build with flak cannon now forever capped at 6 attacks on a 40 second cooldown, especially with crimson being so popular right now, but I don't think many people are trying to run him in other roles either.

I mean, once you get 25 the homing missile stun duration is probably good but you can't make that decision at 15, and the other talent IS 50% more Q damage so it's pretty good. You definitely have to take it, it just seems hard to recommend core gyro in general.

There's actually an interesting sniper build revolving around the 25% cdr talent at level 10 and a fast midas. 25% cdr is actually an insane talent, and very relevant to the hero. Works great with phase, mom, hurricane pike, bkb, etc as well.
Also straight up moonshard as an item is way better than people are respecting right now on sniper. It gives you full night vision (literally as much as nightstalker) which is incredibly relevant for a hero with stupid attack range like sniper. And attackspeed obviously is good on the hero especially for headshot, although you should take the assassinate cast-time talent 100% of the time at level 20. It's not a core item that defines the hero, but people don't think about it enough before they 6-slot.
