How to fix laggs in Live-Streams like twitch.tv! - Page 2

If you have trouble with firefox, perhaps just install google chrome browser and test the stuff i wrote above This fix the firefox problems aswell (because you blocked the ip ranges).

The stream looks "better" in VLC-Player then on twitch. It seems more stable (FPS) then on twitch. For me it's ~5-10 more FPS (just my feeling). If you want to watch twitch streams in VLC-Player, then just try Livestreamer: http://livestreamer.tanuki.se/en/latest/install.html#windows-binaries together with VLC-Player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Install both, then just Press and hold Windows key And press R key Then you get a text field. Write this into the textfield: livestreamer.exe twitch.tv/dedrasc source Instead of dedraSC you write the name of the channel you want to see. Source is the quality. You can chose all quality settings there. But most of the time you just should use "source" IMPORTANT: Start VLC Player. Go to "Extras - Settings - Video" and remove the checkbox from: "Hardware-Convertion from YUV to RGB" !!! Close VLC-Player again. This shows you the right colors on Stream. If you don't do that, the stream looks less "colorfull" ! A more detailed Tutorial on my website: http://www.dedra-sc.com/news-en-US/my-stream-with-vlc-player/ You don't get Ads in VLC-Player. So I totally recomment to open a browser tab (muted with mobile quality setting) to support your fav. streamers If you don't do that, it could be that your streamer can't continue to stream, because he can't effort it! So please support them <3 Normally I shouldn't tell you about the VLC-Player, because you don't get Ads. But viewers are smart enough to use "AdBlock" Browser-Plugins aswell. So it doesn't matter if you block the add with a Browser-Plugin or just use the VLC-Player without Ads. So think about to open a browser tab with mobile quality setting (muted) in your browser while using the VLC-Player!

You never know when it is activated/deactivated (it is already activated or if I have to click to be activated). So now I followed your guide now and I also deactivated octoshape, I hope it solve my "twitch-problem". Sometimes I get bluescreen and this only happens if I watch twitchstreams, never happened at youtube etc.

I recomment to open your PC case and use your vacuum cleaner + a brush. Just hold the VC to the hardware (don't touch with it) and use the brush to clean it all up Replace your drivers, search for updates for everything. Especially for Mainboard and graphic card drivers. Same for the Flash: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html You should check the temperature of your hardware before / after the cleaning mission. You can use this tools: - CoreTemp (this shows the CPU temp) - GPU-Z (this shows the temp. of your graphic card) I hope this helps you

Dingodile 4139 Posts January 07 2015 16:08 GMT #30 There were 3 activated flash players there >.< that pepperflash, adobe and octoshape. Now since 3 days only adobe is activated, it feels so much better, stable state (you see that if you switch to fullscreen and back) and no bluescreens yet. I highly doubt I get bluescreens again. I never saw bluescreens when I watch IE or firefox or Opera if I remember correctly. The only one reason to watch on Chrome is that flash starts pretty fast compared to other browsers.

Sometimes the flash activates again (on an update). @ Cyro: If you remove the power cable, and press the "on button" many times on your pc it's not a big deal. I do that since more then 15 years like this (vacuum cleaner) and never something happened @ All: If the Tutorial helped you, please leave a ThumpsUp on YouTube. So that more people will find it. :-) I found something else you can try: https://www.ghostery.com/ Perhaps to block some stuff of this helps too. Since my previous fixes, I never had any lagg / buffering. So I can't tell you if this addon will help. But I saw it in a YouTube video. So perhaps you give it a try, as a "last chance" thing.

Dedra Germany24 Posts February 03 2015 11:13 GMT #33 I used such tools for cleaning my hardware: http://www.amazon.de/Menalux-D18N-Zubehör-Kit-Mikrodüsen-Set-Staubsaugertypen/dp/B000VZ0C70 If you are carefully, you can do it with a normal brush and the vacuum cleaner. Like 2cm distance to your hardware, just put the dust out with the brush. You could do that without a vacuum cleaner, but if you brush the dust out, it flies into the air. So the vacuum cleaner gets it. I NEVER would touch the hardware with vacuum claner ;-) Makes no sense. And a brush is sensitive, no damage to your PC hardware.

It makes me angry that I saw bluescreens for 4 years (~5-10 times monthly) because of only watching twitch streams. edit: I am a bit worried about "global settings" folder, which you recommend "unlimited". Do you know how much it saves in your computer? 1GB is possible? I have a SSD and I dont want a 1GB folder from twitch datas.
