Superfetch will only interfere with a process when it is being loaded into memory, after that it has no effect on the process. It won't affect Starcraft in anyway after it has loaded.

alright guys i think i found the problem. recently i installed bitdefender 2011 because my avast had expired *cough* blacklisted. i checked task manager and saw that bitdefender was barely using any ram or cpu. however, given that it was the only thing i changed recently, i uninstalled it and low and behold my lag issues are gone.

This probabbly was a disk usage issue (the lag/stutter). Good to see you got that fixed.
