T1 announced via Twitter that it has signed herO to its roster. herO is T1's first StarCraft II player since T1 disbanded its Proleague roster in October of 2016, following the dissolution of the league.
"We are pleased to announce that @sc2_herO is joining T1 for StarCraft 2! Please give a warm welcome to ‘herO’, who will be showcasing his best performance with T1.

I thought it was a bump of a old thread D:
Hopefully there will be new SC2 tournaments next year.

Wow, T1 are fielding an SC2 player? In 2025? Congrats to him, I'd love to see more of these signings.

Wow, what a signing for herO! Gogo T1, welcome herO

So the guy we all called "CJ Entus herO" at some point now plays for T1? Neat!
No idea where that pickup comes from tbh, but it's awesome to see them again in Starcraft. Though I still think the "new" T1-Logo is a travesty compared to the SKT logo

"Wrong player in the liquipedia link - should be (Wiki)HerO (Kim Joon Ho)"
That link has been broken for like, 5 Years!

Gotta wonder if this is evidence that SC2 will be at EWC next year, or if teams like T1 (or Falcons with Solar last year) can afford to keep high-level players on retainer just IN CASE SC2 ends up at EWC again. The pickings do get slim if you're rushing to sign a player 3 months before EWC, so if the funds are there, it could be a reasonable insurance play to lock someone in early.

Depends what they are actually paying. I mean, is Heromarine really that essential to Mouz that they keep him on payroll? And he is there for so long I'm actually wondering if they even remember that they are paying him still.
It could ofc be a sign that T1 and co. already know more (though in that case: Why not announce SC2 already? A lot of the games for '26 are already known). If I recall, T1 is also in the EWC Partner Program which expects teams to work on the growth on Esports, so maybe there are certain quotas they have to hit or whatever. Could also just be a very easy quotation: If T1 had herO on retainer this year, his 200 points alone would have improved them one place in the ranking, giving them around 100.000 Dollars more. And I think we can all agree that herO will in fact not earn 100K until next year

Pretty cool, hopefully more to come

Incredible, did not expect newslike this!

herO is so kewl and becoming my favourite player, good pickup, these protoss that practice their butts off deserve it.

Most definetly 100% not. You wouldn't even have enough current Korean pros to field two or three teams, not to mention 8 or 10.
