The first GSL qualifiers of the year concluded over the weekend (April 10-11), deciding the sixteen players to compete in GSL Code S.
Stats and INnoVation stood out in particular among the qualified players, with both military returnees making it back to Code S on their first attempt. Recent IEM Katowice top four finisher RagnaroK was the most notable player to be eliminated in the qualifiers (losing to Ryung and INnoVation).
Code S Season 1 will be held from April 25th to May 18th. The starting groups for the RO16 will be announced at a later date.
The GSL has undergone major contraction in 2023, with Code S shrinking from 20 to 16 players while moving to a primarily online format. The RO16 and RO8 will be played online, while the RO4 and finals will be played live.
Damn, poor Ragnarok being four times just one map away, that has to hurt... Keen moving on is quite crazy too, that's a name I had not heard for a while.

And he just lost his WTL spot, talk about a rough week. Hopefully he makes it to the Saudi tournament
Also, when did Keen came back? I feel like I've missed that one.
I knew that Stats was coming back, but Inno is un-retiring!? Whoa seems like just yesterday there was the tribute article about him leaving for military and so many of us wising him well and calling him one of the GOATs to ever play.

Keen has been back for ages at this point, he just didn t get any big results lately Edit: He s been back since April 2021 according to Alligulac: http://aligulac.com/players/24-KeeN/results/

Have you checked EU qualification results? 18 protosses vs 14 terrans & zergs combined. Based on results, will you admit protoss are ridiculously overpowered? Or is it a bit more complex than that?

I thought he had re-retire last year. Seems like he didn't play between last november and march of this year according to Liquipedia, good to see that he's still at it.

Tough prediction: A Terran doesn't win this GSL
Thats an easy prediction. herO Dark and Solar still playing, while the best Terran who can beat them has won 1 Final out of 8 in the last 13 months or something.
in 2025 there will be one guy left on here arguing all 3 sides of the balance arguments with himself and scarlett who will occasionally reply to his posts with "lmao"

I remember when Artosis hyped Percival so much, and he actually played well, outplayed Byun and almost made it out. Armani, Ragnarok, soO, Special and TY are also all great players. Shame TY didn't make it.
