I know this sounds horrible, but let's be honest here. Or maybe that's just me
It depends, I for one really enjoy watching players that dont always make it far into a tournament, as often I dont see them play, or they are just young and could do so in the future. Especially now as we see Innovation, Solar etc play pretty much every week, and multiple times. These names are not that special for me anymore that I NEED to see them play.
Anyhow what is a low tier player for you? Is that a Skillous that doesnt go far in tournaments but is still a 6.6kish player on the GM ladder, or do you mean some of the NA players that qualify that most people will not have heard of?

So, we should just settle with Serral vs Reynor finals then? Or add uthermal, Clem, HM, Elazer and Showtime, otherwise it's not worth watching.
I think that there are many players who can close the gap with this system which motivates them to work harder. Harstem, Soul, Mana, Drogo, Gungfu, SKillous, Denver, Bly, Vanya. Not to mention some really nice refreshments like milkycow, hellraiser, gerald, and others who are invisible but quality players.
Promoting new talent gives us what we screamed for, and hopefully this will come in KR too.
Fresh, new talent. Otherwise, viewers might get bored of watching same guys over and over duking it out for top4.

I've been watching a bit of the Oceania qualifiers last week. It actually was a lot of fun and I will try to catch the main event. Yes, the level is lower, but it's still high master/GM level. However, because of this lower level, I found the games are more diverse, the casting is a bit more chill and relax and I still have a good time watching Starcraft 2 (which is all that matter for me as a viewer).
I wouldn't consider it a "must watch," but it's a good opportunity to see something a bit different. As long as it's not held at the same time as another big tournament, I don't see any issue. Taiwan/Japan/HongKong qualifiers are at the same time as the Olimoleague and if you have a choice between watching Bistork vs Rex or INnoVation vs. RagnaroK, then the choice is easy for me.
Always seeing the same best players can be a bit boring, one of the reasons I love watching Serral is that each of his apparition is rare, so I'm always excited to see him play. On the other hand, HeroMarine is a great player, but I see him so much in all online tournaments that there is less excitement watching him.
It might be an issue for competitiveness for the group stage of the Season Finals, but in the end, we will still see the 8 best players in the playoffs.

Oh no Koreans hmm. This will be interesting to see how the players play now without Korean presence.

Our Captain doesn't need any help from the organizers to win this thing. It's actually beneficial for him to have to play more games, because it gives him greater opportunity to sow seeds of doubt and confusion into later opponents.
