I'd say Maru/Trap/Rogue is definitely still better than Cure/PartinG/Dark. And Jin Air also has sOs for rotation. Their non-Korean players are probably pretty similar.

Hell I might be entirely wrong but Jin Air feels like an ‘actual’ team, that shoutout each other for helping with their victories or whatever.

DPG and all of these Chinese teams feel just like a couple of star Koreans under a loose banner.

Not a criticism of theirs, if anything the majority of ‘teams’ in SC2 fit that bill.

Don't forget TSG.

TSG lacks a star terran. Maybe if inno or TY joined

TY is supposed to join TSG in January. It's their Protoss side that's pretty lacking with herO joining the military next week.

I would say not all of them are, at least TSG and LP have shown great team climate.

Firefly should be better than Rex, to be honest. Yes, JAGW still has the best roster but not by far anymore.

Which is good. They shouldn't auto-win every season of CTC where they don't forget to get visas for the offline finals.

Well, I think that's to be expected given the current scope of team competition. But Proleague fans can hope that the team league scene continues to grow, and maybe we see the return of teams as more cohesive units with a shared practice facility.

I think having JAG as the unbeatable boss could set up a nice storyline, where there's a real arms race to stock up and beat them. Their dominance doesn't particularly bore me (yet).

If you look at the recent results, keeping sOs and kicking Cure is questionable.
Why would you kick Trap, a player who in 2019 reached two Code S finals, held the #2 spot in GSL's ranking and has(had?) the best PvT in the world?

So they re-signed their big 4 and downsized the rest.

Sucks, but it's not exactly super surprising.

He won the WCS 2012 Korean Finals and TSL4. I'd say he reached the top level.

Not on the level we expected. IIRC in 2011-2012 we looked at life, taeja and creator as future all time greats (can't remember exactly how they were initially noticed maybe from those weekly and daily korean tournaments like ESV?). Taeja and life realized their potential and had continued success for years while creator crashed and burned after 2012.

At one point this was how Creator was regarded:

"The Heir of Aiur

(P)CreatorPrime will be the best Protoss in the world one day. MC, Seed, Rain, Parting, Squirtle, Hero, whatever. Doesn't matter. I don't care if Bisu rises back from the depths of despair and wins the GSL along with the OSL, Creator one day will be the best Protoss in the universe. He was already close to that title a few months ago with his victory in WCS Korea, taking down the now considered #1 Protoss Rain, and beating Squirtle, another contender for the title, in the finals, but his hype died down when he couldn't qualify for the fourth season of GSL and didn't do amazingly at the Asian finals for WCS.

Now getting back to Code S for the second time in his career, he'll take his shot at grabbing that Protoss crown. With Rain blowing off GSL to get sixth place at MLG Dallas, Squirtle slumping and losing to foreigners constantly at international tournaments, and MC not even in this season's tournament, Creator has a chance along with a few other Protoss like Parting and Seed to confirm their place on top.

TSL4 and WCS Korea champion, Creator wants more. His first blip on the scene was over a year ago in the Super Tournament against fellow group mate Mvp in the first round. Creator, then a 14-year-old newbie that was simply canon fodder for Mvp, actually gave the GSL champion a fright, putting on an epic three game series that the champion finally closed out against the green rookie. Creator is no longer that rookie Mvp faced in the Super Tournament, and he could even be considered a favorite if the two face off.
"

He's still shows flashes of brilliance like when he was able to consistently beat Zest (in his peak) in proleague. And he's still really young and not beyond a gumiho type run.

I will never forget Creator screaming in the booth with excitement when he beat Zest twice on a single day.

Stopped watching ESL content in 2022 when the company was acquired by Savvy Gaming Group. Also object to sponsorships by the U.S. Air Force. Thanks for the lively discussions about sportswashing. StarCraft II is not for me anymore.

If we're gonna be technical though this was like 3 games, a year after Zest peaked, when he wasn't even in Code S because he lost to TANGTANG,

It feels weird but that's good for Creator, even if he might have benefitted from getting out of the teamhouse and embracing a new challenge.
