The qualifiers for GSL Code S Season 3 have concluded, locking in the 32-player roster for the final Code S Season of 2019 (visit Liquipedia for full qualifier brackets). Code S Season 3 is scheduled to to begin on July 3rd and end on September 21st.
For the most part, the qualifier progressed predictably, with prior Code S regulars reclaiming their sports. However, TaeJa, Bomber, Dream, and Super also earned their returns to Code S, continuing the trickle of veterans finding their way back into Korea's premiere competition.
While a large number of non-Korean players such as Has, MaSa, and Astrea participated in the qualifier, only SpeCial and Scarlett—the two players with prior Code S experience—were able to qualify.
I still think Dream has been one of the most underated terrans of sc2. He was basically SKT's secret ace terran for a while. I really hope he comes back strong this GSL :D

He's the player who'd win the most prestige from a GSL win, most top 10 players on GOAT rankings would jump 1 or 2 spots with a GSL win. Taeja would probably jump 5. Maybe only Serral would gain more prestige and validation.
Too bad for DRG didn't make it. Also I'm surprised for Bunny didn't make it too because he's showing much better games lately. And I will miss the deep voice of Losira in the interviews. :D The rest is okay and no surprises with the qualifiers >D
Taeja and bomber are making this look like a much more interesting GSL. lots of PvT though because Zerg is looking anemic outside of the big 3. they really miss soulkey, byul, and Gambling Man.
DRG can't quite recapture the post military magic and Leenock is going into service.
gotta think the favs are Classic, maru, and innovation, with 2nd tier being trap, dark, soo, and ty or gumiho
I am exclusively following the brood war scene since quite a few years, but because Scarlett make it, because Fantasy, bomber and TaeJa are representing Terrans, because Maru has something to prove on this one, because all of this i am going to make an exception and follow this one with hype :D

All of your favorites are highly likely to bomb out in ro32 lol
Now if a protoss wins GSL Season 3 it'll be the first year since 2015 where a member of each race has won the GSL. Last time it was Life, Rain and INnoVation.

Bunny, Losira, SpeeD, DRG, TRUE, MC, and Trust all didn't make it
Leenock!
Well Leenock didn't make it by virtue of not being able to play because of impending military.

Neither Rag nor PartinG have served as far as I know.

Ah ok I stand corrected. So just 6/32 players that's nearly a fifth of the players.

Cause there were zero Terrans in the Ro4 from season 2, and the entire pool of players in Korea is frankly not large enough to keep all the Terrans out. Notable players were only 15 Protoss, 14 Terran and 15 Zergs in total, and that's including streamers like Top and foreigners like Risky or Astrea.
The Ro32 will always have a nearly identical set of players regardless of balance, because that's just about how many players there are in Korea.
Really excited for the returning players, especially Dream. He was improving so quickly during his SKT1 days before he went to the military, and I don't think we've seen his full potential yet.

It's also good that he's on a team now (Chinese team Brave Star) so that he'll have that stability and practice partners this year at least.
