So many units, so many abilities, so many maps! Not everybody wants to have to sit down and study everything with a pen and paper just to learn a new game.

Come join myself and premier commentator Maynarde as we introduce you to StarCraft 2, the fun way. We're explaining games from popular streamers & top level pros, explaining them every step of the way for newer players. Casting will be done by Ravi "feardragon" Pareek and a Leigh Maynarde Mandalov.
The stream will be broken up into 3 segments(roughly 1.5 hours each) as we gradually ramp up on StarCraft and start talking about more and more complex topics.

Ready for more? - Now that you understand what the game is, let's get more specific. We'll go over higher level concepts and a few unit specifics so you can start getting a bit of the strategy in the game.
Time for the Finale! - You've got your bearings and you may even be ready to get started yourself now. Awesome! We'll go a bit more in detail so you can decide what race looks the most appealing to you, some of the actual mechanics of playing them, and even highlight what some of your games may try to look like.
You'll also get a sense of many of the different major streamers and players in the StarCraft scene as we cover games from:

nice__username also made an awesome video that we'll be playing during the stream explaining the basics of basics in Starcraft 2. Hopefully people find it helpful!
This analytical style of casting is really interesting because it brings me back to the earlier days of SC2 casting where the casts were focused more on being informational rather than being entertaining. It's actually kind of refreshing to hear a cast where people try to specifically focus on the delivery of information to new players rather than the usual casts we hear where it's partially colour commentary and partially informational cast.

That's one of my favorite things about Homestory Cup, that players are casting. They got so much insight on what is going on, why the players do this and that, what it could lead to. I find that type of casting a lot more interesting than the typical tournament style with play-by-play and yelling.
Thanks to everyone who tuned in! The vod is available here for anyone that wants to catch it or send it around to others. =] https://www.twitch.tv/videos/203098785

Pretty sure if 20 yr old BW is still getting new people on TL, that SC2 is continuing to get new people too. I expect an influx with the F2P change too. What FearDragon is doing is awesome and he can safely ignore you warning.

I am a pretty new player myself only having played since a few days before remastered came out. I watched the Remastered Launch for the foreign scene on twitch vods and it seemed like so much fun I instantly bought in. I hope that other people try out the game for maybe the first time and fall in love with it like I did. go.twitch.tv
The ASL matches have been great fun for me to watch and follow!
As for the UMS maps I really enjoy the 2 micro maps I've tried from this page wiki.teamliquid.net
