H.O.T-Forever AMA (Ex KT Rolster Head Coach) - Page 5
Forum Index > SC2 General |
After some internal discussion, we have decided to let this thread stay up. Although we cannot allow people to just post up their resumes on our site, we have found a nice alternative that will allow the thread to remain open. We have changed it into an AMA. Something along the lines of: "Hello, I'm H.O.T-Forever, this is what I've done, please ask me stuff." So everyone, please feel free to ask H.O.T-Forever anything you would like ![]()

I am very impressed with your achievements as a sc2 coach but are you confident the system for sc2 is translatable to other games and how? 1. The difficulties I foresee would have to do with language and culture. 2. At first, LoL also followed the system used for StarCraft. We then took that and transferred it into LoL's own system. I observed that process from the sidelines and helped KT Rolster out a lot with forming their LoL teams. Additionally, many former SC coaches are now LoL coaches and have been doing a great job. Every week players used new stuff, those games were extremely high level, commentary and production were really solid, and clearly a lot of those builds were prepared by coaches and other similar people for the players. Learning of the discontinuation was definitely the saddest piece of news for me in 2016... Proleague has ended. Compared to SC1, SC2 just never got the popularity it needed to sustain itself. LoL and OW are super popular. People want new things. In regards to SC2, I feel that it will still continue to function, but only as a small niche form.

Maybe try Heroes of the storm teams if you can't find anything LoL related ? The game isn't quite as big but it has decent blizzard support.

Do you really believe that? Stork has given an interview where he said Blizzard did not care at all.

Would you say that he has tilting/mental problems when playing? When he's playing his best game, he looks like #1 Terran (i.e first game in the GSL finals against Zest or his game against Solar in PL), but sometimes -- especially towards the end of series (last game against Zest in the finals or last games in Kespa Cup and BlizzCon) he looks quite weak. Would you agree that if he fixed this problem he'd be #1? Did you recognize and acknowledge this problem and tried to work on it?

Likely, his interactions were with Blizzard Korea which is notorious for not caring about SC2 at all. Blizzard has funded every GSL ever, 5 WCS seasons, will be funding 3 GSL's next season as well as a new season of the WCS circuit. It would be preposterous to say they don't care at all. EDIT: I realize I'm going off-topic. How do you foresee the Korean SC2 scene going forward? Clans with no sponsors/salaries? Foreign teams?

Can you describe a bit what was it like when you guys have just formed a team in Busan with fellow strong players and future stars like Kim Dong-su (김동수), Park Yong-wook (박용욱), Park Jung-suk (박정석), Byun Gil-seob (변길섭), Park Gyung-rak (박경락)? Also how big was it when you and Kim Dong-su reached the finals of the OSL? Idk if this is too much ^_^ 감사합니다
