p.s. If it's continuing Blizzard financial support then props to them, one of the best decisions they've made in quite a while. Maybe they will start listening to community more and give people what they want, and we sure as hell want more Shoutcraft Kings!!

Seriously, what has this guy not done? Pretty much all that is left is becoming a progamer himself. Tb's debut in 2017 inc?

Amazing how just a tease has this much attention. Is this what they call "just the tip"? ![]()

The fact of the online event like that happening all year is really amazing, I enjoyed watching it on BlizzCon but personally I didn't took is as super amazing and it felt as an extra thing this time on the convention. Especially when the games were more for fun than gameplay alone due to significant changes as it all needs time to create any form of metagame based on them to be truly fun to watch. Personally I don't take TB as the best person ever entertainment-wise (it's a subjective matter) in StarCraft scene looking at others involved, he is enough of a reasonable person to criticize himself over how his casting may not be top-notch, others may think differently knowing him for other things (I watched maybe one or two his videos on Doom and No Man's Sky I think), though his input in the scene is enormous and I'm eternally thankful for what he does. StarCraft community is standing far too much on the shoulders of personalities instead of the game itself, and with a big part of these influential people gone, TB is super important. Olimoley and co. deserve utmost gratitude from the community as well despite pulling the strings from the backstage and not being so visible. One more thing on how dependent this community is on personalities: Destiny streamed yesterday and had average 5k viewers with peak at 6k, with highest level streaming SC2 players having no more than 1k on average. Made me think how numbers would look if IdrA, Day9 or even Husky came back. EDIT: I loved Axslav streams back in 2011, it would be great if he came back too :D

Blizzard does a pretty "meh" job with all their esports initiatives. As long as TotalBiscuit consistently does a better job than Blizzard i think they should just keep giving him more money and more responsibility. Sure things are "more dependent" on TotalBiscuit if they do this. As long as the cheques don't bounce TotalBiscuit will keep doing this stuff. And its really clear with how enthusiastic he was at BlizzCon that he loves doing this. If he loves it.. and Blizzard keeps paying him he won't go away. He is competent and he gives a fuck. PAY THE MAN!

Probably not, I just believe that SC2 for many reasons (including that it's a stressful 1v1 game) is much more dependent on them than any other popular competitive title right now. There were major shifts of interest and overall dissatisfaction with the game when numerous people important to community moved away from it to do other things. Obvious example to me would be Day9 leaving to do other stuff that he likes. He had a huge following and reminded with his personality and shows that you don't have to be a god to have fun playing and watching StarCraft. There is nobody similar to him among people that stream. It's reasonable to think that with the scene getting less varied because of enjoyable people leaving to do other things people can just leave the game. If hypothetically Day9 resumed his SC2 content it's 100% sure some people would come back.

What a legend and I am so excited for the apparantly even bigger project he has been working on. Outside of that. I have been working on a project for the last couple of months that has just kicked into high gear. I'm not ready to talk about it yet, I don't want to announce something that we won't be able to show you pretty much immediately, but it's taking an outside the box approach to the problem of growing the audience and building a larger fanbase of casual eSports viewers for Starcraft. We have some incredible people working on it (the best, trust me, they're bad hombres) and support from many figureheads of the scene. I'm really excited to eventually share it with you. 2017 is going to be a really exciting year.
