Dark (SKT T1) avenged the loss of the last SSL Season 2.

On 25th of Sep., Dark defeated Byun 3:2 through great matches and had a revenge match against Solar. In the finals, Dark lost two first games and got into a pinch. However, he made a reverse sweep and beat Solar 3:2, winning the crossfinals season 2. The following is the full transcription of the interview with Dark.

Q. How do you feel about winning the tournament?

To be honest, I did not expect much thing. That makes me more happy, and it feels always good to play in front of the big audience.

Q. What did you think when you lost first two matches?

That reminded me of last finals. I felt like being underdog. But I decided to be more aggressive during break-time, and that did work.

Q. Semifinals was one of the best matches. What do you think about that?

I've always thought he was a good player. However, he was even better than I've expected. As the time goes, he plays more like Innovation.

Q. As you know, Byun is one of the biggest fan of Innovation. I want to know what Innovation thinks about this.

Innovation don't care about that matter in the least. He's indifferent, I suppose.

Q. Seems you're in good condition before Blizzcon.

I'd like to take a rest for a while, because of bad health.

Q. You had two consecutive finals against Solar, making both to the final set. I want to hear something about that.

Frankly, I underestimated Solar a bit during SSL, but not anymore; he is a good player.

Q. Nerchio demonstrated his self-confidence, defeating Korean players in a row. What do you expect his performance in KeSPA Cup will be like?

I found and watched VODs too, and I don't see anything special. I suppose because it was held in EU server, if I remember correctly. I think he won't show anything impressive in Korean tournaments.

Q. Any words?

I am all grateful to our audiences. Though I didn't qualified KeSPA Cup, I'll win Blizzcon and going to end this year well. Thank you.

Now I can understand why people write clickbait titles. damm it's so addictive

Looking forward to when this starts!

Haha I love it that they asked about Nerchio, seems like he will be in the spotlight in Korea.

The games were played on NA though Dark .
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

So confident, I would expect nothing less from the Crossfinals winner, aka the best player in the world. So he is going to destroy Nerchio in the Kespa cup? Can't wait to see that!

A: "Though I didn't qualified KeSPA Cup, I'll win Blizzcon and going to end this year well. Thank you."

Stop lying. The best player in the world couldn't possibly have lost in a qualifier. This interview is invalid because he is an imposter. I know he will 3-0 Nerchio in Kespa cup, I look forward to it.

Well, no, that doesn't hurt me. I think Korean PGM aren't in a fanboy approach for each others. There are friendships, there are rivalries between them, but I don't think they talk easily about their respective model, especially if this one is a Korean active player.
That's show ByuN is a different kind of Korean PGM. Maybe less machine and more human

Why would he have to say that? The most bold thing he said was "Koreans are not the only ones that can play StarCraft". Not really something he has to take back, even if he does not win a map.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

if any foreigners don't make RO8 it will be so embarassing and nothing changed at all in 2016 as well. All foreigners have been good at only talking in sc2 so far. Even in 2015, foreigners said Lilbow's pvz buils is much better than Korean protoss' and EU zergs were suffering vs him. So they wanted to see how Lilbow will do and crush top Korean zergs. All they made excuses after 0-3 by Life was that Lilbow was only practicing for LOTV xD

ahahah even before Lilbow plays Life, foreigners said samething xD. And after finished, just making LOTV excuse.

Foreigners' typical talking way sc2 since 2011, Talk big before match -> Make excuse after match. And please say something after foreigners make RO8 in Kespa Cup. Before it really happens, nobody in Korea really think or believe that any foreigners making this group whatever you guys talk with unusal confidence

He's just making excuses because he knows Neeb will 3-0 him. GO NEEB!

What are you even talking about? Dark not gonna play vs Neeb. He doesn't even play anything before Blizzcon. it is Rogue vs Neeb bo3 in Kespa Cup. And why would Dark care about Neeb much if he beated many top Korean protoss this year in tournaments? :D

I understand that community definitely needs such things. Because even in Korean community, people like to troll and trash talk each other about players in GSL or SSL. Usually, in our memories, the best foreigners we know are IdrA and Stephano during WOL. But after HotS, we can't find anyone yet. But a lot of people say Snute has been showing most impressive plays among foreigners.

Dark deserves to get shittalked after losing to Pet despite getting the easiest KeSPA qualifier group.

He got the easiest group but I'm pretty sure Classic ties him for easiest bracket.

I think Nerchio means random korean, as in a Korean who does not know Nerchio. I don't think they ever had contact.

Any Korean that has at least played Nerchio before would be a better source to ask about Nerchio. Like ByuN for example.

Or maybe random as in "He got picked arbitrarily and isn't even in KeSPA Cup so why did he get asked?"

But I think he just wants internet hate points.

Looking forward to the foreigners getting destroyed in KeSPA Cup - hopefully that will make all the dumb kids around here who express how foreigners are playing as well as the Koreans realize how little they understand this game.

Man everyone know how good IdrA was in his time, and he always competed against the best players, you can't compare him with Ret.

Also IdrA played there since BW at CJ, so people were used to know him for being good not only in SC2

Ret even won Dreamhack summer in 2009, he was considered one of the top foreign bw players. I mentioned Ret because he had a comparable career to Idra but there are several players that did better than him in SC2 (and thus Idra as well). Idra was a good player of course but people really remember him being more successful than he was because of his temper.

im not a big fan of nerchio, but in this case he stomps on them koreans.
One time that happened and I just stopped everything, selected the offending SCV, hit Cancel, moved it over to my Barracks, made a Marine, had the Marine shoot it to death, then left the game.

I didn't say that wtf

I saw close to if not all the big tournaments since the beta, Idra was good but there were others who deserve more praise than him, certainly NaNi does. Also, I hope you agree that results do actually matter?

So you think Idra was clearly the better player than Ret? Most would say they're very close in skill level, including themselves.

If you want some great global SC2 content you should be watching Shoutcraft.

I didn't think much of Nerchio but after seeing his streak I believe!

I can see him making a pretty deep run.

in terms of the perception koreans have of foreigners I can understand IdrA being very high up there. he was a regular Code S player, defeated a bunch of strong koreans at MLGs and people knew him from BW. HuK and Naniwa should still be ahead of him though even in this regard.

Yep, I think if you can look at only one type of data to classify historically the best players, without a doubt, the best way to do so would be to look at their earnings.

I very much agree with you - it's just that it's an incredibly horrible way to go about it compared to actually having a clue about the game and looking at how well the players played.

Edit: As Charoisaur pointed out, obviously judging by earnings only makes sense if you're comparing players who have attended the same tournaments xD

I saw close to if not all the big tournaments since the beta, Idra was good but there were others who deserve more praise than him, certainly NaNi does. Also, I hope you agree that results do actually matter?

well if someone doesnt understand the game, it's easy to point to results or earnings as to determine which player is better

So you think Idra was clearly the better player than Ret? Most would say they're very close in skill level, including themselves.

I hadnt said anything yet about which of those two players I consider better. But if you ask me:

As far as I'm concerned, neither at their time had a chance against the best in BW. As far as SC2 goes, I think they both were far from ever playing as well as the best Zergs throughout SC2.

Not useful. Aligulac ratings strongly inflate over time. Mvp's peak rating is lower than the peak rating of most (moderately good) players that play nowadays.

haha, shoutcraft... imagine from the pro koreans perspective, best of 1 game on another server vs. someone you (in some cases) know nothing about. the loss means so little to them and the win exponentially so much more to the foreigner. you can guarantee they were not playing anywhere near the level they would be if it was a meaningful offline match in a tournament. it was cool to see nerchio go on such a streak and give hope to foreigners that they have a chance, makes it interesting. talk as much trash and hope all you want, we will see if it actually meant anything soon enough! can't wait!

Why would it mean less for Koreans? I have more tournaments to play in than them, haha :D

Hahaha, it's pretty obvious that Nerchio is being Nerchio and he's trolling hard. But fun fact- u all seem to underestimate him as a player. And all this in front of the facts, that lots of Korean players are copying Nerchio's builds in ZvT or are inspired by his style. Foreign Zergs figured out meta in this matchup long time before koreans. So i wouldn't be so "nah" if i were Dark. Also, i don't understand you people. All i hear since the beginning of sc2, is how u all are soory that no foreigners can stand against koreans. And when we are so close to achieve it, u are bashing people that have a chance to prove that we're not less capable than korean players. Chill, cheer and have fun from watching our beloved game. I hype for Nerchio as i think it would be a great fucking story if he manages to go deep into that stacked korean tournament. I hope he'll do it! Go go Nerchio- foreigner hope.
