After the 2016 WCS Circuit: Shanghai Tournament ends on March 26th, we would start the All-Stars Challenger Match on March 27th.

Full list of Korean players have been announced.

Player List:

Korean All-Stars : (T)ByuN, (P)Stork(Z)DRG, (Z)ByuL (T)TY (P)Dear

International All- Stars : Top 4 players of WCS Shanghai + 2 revived players who have been voted in.

Vote is conducted here: http://gold.blizzard.cn/minisite/allstar , however you need to have a bnet china account and to register for one, you need a chinese identification no. , so limited to chinese citizens.

So far, the most popular players besides the chinese are, Scarlett and Snute, who actually have more votes than some of the chinese players.

Format of the All-Stars Challenger Match is as follows:

1. International All-Stars will be competing against the Korean All-Stars. Each team will comprise of 6 players.

2. The teams will be competing on 6 maps. There will be 4 BO1 played on each and every map for a total of 24 BO1.

3. Every player will play 4 games. They can be sent out on the same map but the whole team of 6 players have to finish 24 games.

Prize Money:

1. The Winner of every BO1 will win $500 USD.

2. So there is a total prizepool of $12000 USD.

Byun isn't surprising considering he's on a Chinese team. Guessing PartinG will join them if he signs for ZoO. Going to be tough to get names though with the Proleague Round 1 final scheduled for the day before

Hey I like that format, I hope we get some top kespa, and not just the traditional, Hyun, MC, Taeja, Parting, Jaedong. I don't know if it would be possible with pro-league going on but it would be nice.

I think it's better to have MC, taeja, parting etc because they don't have anything to play in except gsl/ssl.
Kespa players still have proleague

It looks like a great idea and I am looking forward to that but it still makes me kind of mad that all players have to be there so early and leave so late because pretty much everyone stays 1 day longer just so 4 players can play this all-stars. Meh ;p

Tournament is 21-26 and my travel is 18-28 TT

Well, they released the date/info in the original announcement so shouldn't have been a surprise:

This is a pretty great format!!!! I expected one BO7 and instead, there will be 24 matches! And even if it does not involve the best players, BuyN is enough so far for me, I will be happy with Stork as well and will hope, they manage to get someone from the teams, who will not play Proleague on the previous day. As it looks in the moment, e.g. Jin Air will not get into the play off, so they might have time :-)

Well rested Koreans with time to prepare, vs Foreigners that just went through an entire LAN tournament. This has strong potential to be even more Onesided than usual foreigners vs Koreans.
And it's Best of 1 too, gonna see some sick timings

Joke? No. I am seriously afraid, Jin Air will not manage to get to the play offs in season 1. So they might be free and could participate in the Showmatch. You are a big optimist if you think, that is a joke.

You have to be blind if you don't see that he has quite a few fans, especially here on TL, who might very well vote for Nerchio. His chances at getting top 4 are very solid as well.

Could you just take you anger and channel it somewhere else and stop hating on TL?
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Hmm... can't say I'm super hyped by the invites so far.

But I guess it's good to give guys like Byun and DRG a shot at the limelight since they really wouldn't have many shots, due to their absence in Proleague, difficulty and scarcity of Starleagues and *ahem* the new WCS rules.

This is absolutely impressive!!! So hyped!!! This could reach tens of thousands of viewers!
With TY, Dear and ByuN, we have the real top guns of Korean scene!!! DRG is excellent as well, ByuL is not in top shape, but he is definitely not bad. And Stork ... everybody loves Stork!

This will be so awesome!

Vote your revived players here:

But apparently you need a Chinese server account which is not easy to get.

I think Stork is pretty much in good shape right now, he was 1 map away from getting into GSL Ro16 after all
TY and Dear are both in godly form right now, I'm so hyped

OK, Drogo, Harstem, puCK and Snute ... plus iAsonu and Toodming as voted by the Chinese fans ...
So where are the liquibets? Let us be optimistic:
Drogo: 1 map
puCK: 1 map
Harstem: 0 maps
Snute: 2 maps
iAsonu: 0 maps
Toodming: 0 maps

TY: 4 maps
Dear: 4 maps
ByuN: 3 maps
ByuL: 3 maps
DRG: 3 maps
Stork: 3 maps

I think you are about right but Stork is going to lose a lot of maps in my opinion. I played him on Korean ladder a few times and he wasn't very impressive

Wow I just saw the format. So they will play 24 maps for sure.

I guess it should 19:5 for Korea.

Anything better than that will be a success for foreigners. If they could get close to 10 maps that would be epic.

Sadly without Nerchio and MarineLorD/Major I don't see that happening.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Of course, he is not a progamer ;-)
But you know, out of respect to Stork, I cannot give him less maps :-)

Curse these chinese fans! They clearly don't want to win or they would have voted MLord + Nerchio! The chinese players are just gonna get even more humiliated.

Starts the same time as the playoffs which is 12pm local time/12am ET/6am CEST (Europe switches to summer time that day), full 24 maps must be played so length should be similar to 6 best of 5s. 6 maps, 4 match ups on each map, and every player must play 4 maps, each map winner takes $500.

Here you go.

the new WCS system has already set the illusion that foreigners are good enough to take maps from koreans lol.
I expect 23:1 for korea with stork dropping a map.

edit: now that I think about it the koreans might make fun of the foreigners by doing troll builds.
so maybe they might drop a few more maps

From what I gather it's like Proleague; they send the player out to play on the map in a certain slot (e.g. 1st game on Dusk Towers), the other team does the same and then those things happen.
