Sojung confirmed the information following the conclusion of the VANT Starleague finals. SBENU will be renamed to Afreeca freecs. Afreeca will also be forming a Hearthstone team and streaming two additional BW tournaments this year. The BW tournaments feature more English coverage than VANT.

It would definitely have been possible if they tried. I guess maybe the problem is that KeSPA doesn't want to sponsor a team by themselves and other sponsors in Korea aren't interested?

Makes sense, when Afreeca took over GSL they were betting a lot on SC2 doing well. Proleague going downhill with only 6 teams could effect their business a lot, especially with everything else going on with the korean scene atm.
If anyone is worried that uneven number proleague might look little gimpy, don't be. If you pay close attention to Round-Robin schedule you can see that it's really top notch.

Also, if I had to imagine, the plethora of Blizzard ads is likely an effort between two companies trying to work together. The transition from BW to SC2 in Korea was not good and I would even say some users felt betrayed. Blizzard likely wants to rebuild a bridge with these users, even if it means supporting both BW and SC2.
I really believe that if Blizzard actively supports BW, it will mean a lot to those that had a falling out with them over the transition.

Sweet! Now I get to watch my proleague and feel a bit more secure about the position SC2 is in right now. I would love to see some more support thrown towards SC2, but as any company would do, it's about the business and most of the business is in other games right now.
Maybe this will be the turning point to bring back viewers and sponsors to support SC in general again. That is, if Blizzard properly manages the marketing and strategically shapes the support that possible (hopefully) will build (again) around SC.

Ultimately one of the more wtf things about this business, is that they werent able to get a trademark, and in the fashion world that is EVERYTHING so the brand is absolutely worthless, scandals, debt , and fraud aside.
