Fanta's style when he was really on fire produced some of the most enjoyable games I've ever seen. His play really had flare, with that combination of truly astounding macro and multitasking/micro that only a handful of players have ever been able to achieve. Most recently I saw an example of this on his stream, when he decided to go mech against toss and won after a dazzling display of multitasking and game sense, in the process doing things with Hellions that I had never thought possible. Given that he's retiring now, man am I happy I caught that game. Such a fitting last memory.

I also love how he's always remained very humble, for me a quality that a player simply has to have in order to deserved being called truly great.

I'm really sad that he's retiring now. But no one can be a progamer forever. And I really hope that he can fulfil his dream and become a developer, maybe one day he'll be part of making the next great RTS.

Well, there are a huge range of other sc2 players that you could root for.... I think you only followed sc2 for the bw players.

Boxer was a freaking trooper. At the age of 30 he fought pretty well in the opening of sc2 and that was pretty much the best promotion sc2 could have. He had injuries and a lot of pain at his back and visited the doctor regularly while prepairing for his tournaments. He is the icon of esports for me, a true legend.
Thats why I get so mad with Flash and Fanta, because they are so young and still have a lot of potential (Flash the last two months or so was pretty strong) and yet they gave it all up for their own reasons ofc which is respectable. Still I am mad tho

Wonderful interview. Felt an interesting combination of happiness and sadness reading it. Fantasy was the one who motivated me to play starcraft, and he was my fav player for a long time. Might go watch some of fantasy's great BW matches to get some nostalgia. Thank you for the memories
