Group C is bigger because C is full of champions. While Stats and Byul are probably stronger in form than sOs and Life they are not champions (well Stats is kinda a small one).

Update OP, group A is Classic, HyuN, TY, Rogue; Classic was allowed to switch once and switched Rogue and Dear.

Also I hate group D, teamkill -.-

edit : and yes unless Life steps up his ZvT INnoVation is almost guaranteed through, most likely in second place, maybe in first place.

Does anyone have this schedule figured out? Zest's SSL group is played next Thursday (23rd). The last day of Code A is apparently also scheduled for next Thursday (according to Liquipedia), and Zest is supposed to play on that day of Code A. Can they actually reschedule this, or is one of the dates wrong?

The ceremony was recorded, it was not live due to lots of players travelling to international events.

Schedule in OP is correct
However if what Digmouse says is true and it is pre recorded it might well change again. But they were starting with Group D; 23rd July 30th July 6th August 13th August

Yeah I know the SSL dates are the ones they showed on stream. What about the Code A thing tho? I imagine rescheduling this would be awkward if they weren't aware of it in time.

Indeed, i would assume GSL could switch him to tomorrow if KESPA ask, i mean for some reason there is only 2 games tomorrow in Code A but on the next scheduled day there is 4 games :s Could move Zest game easily there.

SC2 is so stacked. I can't recall situation in SC:BW that former Starleague champion from 2 years ago was cosnidered one of the weakest players across the board in Ro16.

I mean, if you check recent results of all 4 players in that group, off- and online, INno should actually be the favourite in that group.

I was very specfic - in 2010 July was on his path to retirement from SC2 and he didn't get to Ro16 of anything - the best he did was qualifying for MSL and being eliminated in Ro32.

SC2 is so stacked. I can't recall situation in SC:BW that former Starleague champion from 2 years ago was cosnidered one of the weakest players across the board in Ro16.

I don't think July was considered a strong zerg two years after his third OSL win?

I was very specfic - in 2010 July was on his path to retirement from SC2 and he didn't get to Ro16 of anything - the best he did was qualifying for MSL and being eliminated in Ro32.

well if you want to be so specific then: ForGG
Definitely considered weakest of the Ro16 players here

Is Hyun's win percentage at all reflective of his current form?

Bogus and life always seem to be in the group of death.

With his current showing i doubt Life will make it out of this group tbh, but there is still some time left, so who knows?

Life barely won against Trap in code A. He's going to be the bottom of the group imo

edit : and yes unless Life steps up his ZvT INnoVation is almost guaranteed through, most likely in second place, maybe in first place.

Life could advance with 2 ZvP's though. And I could totally see herO/sOs beating INnoVation, while Life wins against both, tbh. Just his ZvT is really bad right now, the rest seems decent.

Actually, Innovation has a very positive win record against sOs, but then again, sOs can surprise anyone, and Innovation is pretty mechanical.

Group of death according to Aligulac:

Group A: Classic(2229) + Hyun(2133) + Rogue(2065) + TY(2065) = 8492

Group B: Dream(2103) + MyuNgSiK(1888) + Rain(2341) + Dear(2068) = 8400

Group C: herO(2131) + INnoVation(2328) + Life(2203) + sOs(2134) = 8798

Group D: Stats(2071) + Byul(2091) + Maru(2294) + Zest(2145) = 8601

So group C is the group of death, group B is group bubble.

In group C they have something like 16 championships among them, including 5 IEMs, 3 GSLs, 3 Blizzcons etc

Group D has only 6 titles, with 1 IEM, 1 GSL and 0 Blizzcons.

Clearly C must be harder meritwise, maybe not Lohengrinwise

He absolutely smashed Dark in their last bo5, but we haven't seen his other matchups recently to be able to judge them. He certainly didn't look strong at HSC.

Hyun is 8-1 in games at DH thus far, but he has not met any Koreans yet so it's hard to say anything about that

His trashing of Dark in the ro24 was really impressive.

Yes, it was, I was just saying that his latest results in matches were good but expected, considering the best player he met probably was Harstem.

We'll see more of Hyun in the upcoming match vs Taeja in a few hours, and if it goes well, he might meet players like TRUE, Curious and Fantasy down the line. That'll be a good test of his form!
