The Finnish Protoss joins the French team Imaginary Gaming after leaving NewRoSoft.
Imaginary Gaming statement
: We are very proud to announce that we secured the services of a great player to reinforce our StarCraft II roster ! Used to major tournaments like DreamHack and WCS, he won both Assembly Summer 2013 & 2014 and Assembly Winter 2015. He also came in second place in IEF 2013, Copenhagen Games 2012 and LANTREK 2014. This player played under multiple banners such as eXelon Gaming, Eclypsia (International) and recently quit Team Newrosoft. Now, most knowledgable fans already know who we are talking about. We are happy to add Finnish Protoss Vesa "Welmu" Hovinen to our roster ! Welcome to the Imaginary family !
Hopefully everything works out. As long Welmu is happy with his team I'm all good, even though it isn't one of the more notable teams many would have hoped for Vesa.

I feel like Welmu deserve a better, top-tier team, like TL or Millenium.
For the latter, I was expecting Mill.Welmu when they invited him for an offline cup in team house. At that time Llewellys (Millenium manager) looked like he really liked Welwu and if I remember correctly he was already teamless.
Welmu has always had some problems with motivation and long term practicing. His health issues might play big part in this who knows. Imo this is very good team for him. GL and HF Welmu!
Imaginary Gaming is another one of those teams that people were questioning at first, but has done nothing but deliver for their players. Welmu should do just fine there, and this probably makes them quietly one of the biggest threats of the EU scene right now.
I am surprised teams bother picking players up, if all their threads are just going to be trashing the team. It's understandable if the team has a history of non-payment or some other kind of shenanigans, but all this negativity seems pretty unwarranted.
Targa and Miniraiser are two other pretty solid players on the team, hopefully they all do well together.

If bad responses in TL threads would cause teams to not pick up players this forum would need to be shut down immediately for killing the scene and all the team managers should be fired for listening to random people on the internet.

A team is only worth as much as their public perception. I know I wouldn't bother sponsoring a team or player if the largest community (outside of maybe reddit?) act like they are toxic.
Also, not to sit here and cry dead game, but it's not like the scene is thriving ...

Anyways, congrats to Imaginary Gaming and Welmu.
i can't imagine that the active posters on this board and/or the starcraft reddit represent anywhere close to the majority of the starcraft community and their opinions. unless "community" only refers to people who post on forums, then this statement makes even less sense, as it would imply that to become significant, you must post on forums, which most starcraft/esport fans, do not seem to do.
good for welmu, he is adorable and i enjoy his accent.

As far as i know, they sponsored Rotab and Deborah to Assembly Summer from france and spain, so they seem fairly legit ^^
