CJ vs Samsung all mirrors lol. Especially excited for the Dark/MarineKing rematch, the soO/YongHwa rematch (both SKT players looking for revenge here), as well as every single match of KT vs JinAir!
KT vs Jin Air is so sick, hoy shit. Jin Air wins 3-1! Sadly I won't be able to watch most of PL until new years since I am at my parent's house. I will have so many vods to watch though .

Rogue is pretty good in ZvT i think, will be hard for KT to win there :/ But JinAir is my second favorite team, so it's "ok"
KT - Jin Air is going to be really interesting. Loads of players there who've got a point to prove:
Is Zest slumping? Is Maru finally coming back into form? TY and sOs both players who've got insane peaks but lack consistency Flash not impressing vs Zerg yesterday while Rogue's been playing really well Stats going 0-4 and looking poor vT in Hot6ix while Cure vP is by far his worst matchup
Also, that's just about as good a match-up as possible for Prime v StarTale. Yoda's been pretty good in TvT, so I feel he can take out Bomber. Still though, unless they've got an anti-strat for Life in the ace match, both Creator and Myungsik need to win.
Where is paperclip?!?! His posts much better than this. Mods pliss close this licther atrocisity TT Zest vs Maru hypeee Bomber said he will be more coach than playing....plays in matchday 1! Nice m9
Actually, we could see an upset early. I'm full speed on the ByuL train, but I know Solar always narrowly beats him. Bad draw from him. Dear and eMotion are underdogs but not substantially when it comes to PvP. This could very well be a 3-0 for Samsung. I'll say 3-2 CJ though.
ST vs Prime:
Wow. That's all I got. Did not expect them to bring on the big guns like this, nor for Bomber to play this early. They must really want Prime's blood. 3-0 for ST.
KT vs Jin Air:
3-0 Jin Air imo. Maybe Flash can avert the 3-0, but Cure will then close it out 3-1 instead.
On December 19 2014 17:45 jahnesta wrote: I'm wondering, how exactly the match ups are decided ? Someone knows the process ?
All the maps are predetermined. Each team then independently submits their lineups on the Friday before the games. They don't know who will play for their opponent so they have to choose their players and where they will play wisely.

Cure's TvP is pretty poor though
I think it's pretty good, his ghost/viking control is sick at least. He was one good engagement away from 3-0ing Classic.
But I think that was far more to do with Classic playing well below his standards in G1+2. G3 he was 'unlucky' to push out at the wrong time; G4+5 Classic just controlled throughout
I don't see Bravo winning or herO losing, so Samsung's gonna have to rely on Emotion to deliver. I haven't seen much of Hush lately, but I've seen a fair amount of Emotion, and he's done pretty well.
Honestly, I see a 3-0 for StarTale. Creator was a PvP sniper in an Ace's body last season, and the other matches...fuhgeddaboudit.
Normally, I'd call the KT vs. Jin Air setup a clean sweep for the Terrans, but Flash was amazingly unimpressive against Life. Rogue isn't Life, but if KT wins this, it'd have to be in an Ace match, and an upset one at that.
MVP has provided the ultimate test to confirm the existence of the sloOmp. I expect MVK to beat Dark, so YongHwa will have his chance. But on instinct, I still gotta go for a 3-1 to SK Telecom.

This is my year I can feel it. My two previous entries were fucked by my anti-picks of over-achieving zergs (BuyL and Dark, respectively). Ok Dark is supposedly a god now but this is all news to me.
Interested to see if KT can bounce back from their recent bad performance. (Zest not qualifying for both SSL and GSL, FlaSh getting thrown out of SSL, etc). Surely, the mood can't be great in their teamhouse at the moment. Only bright spot is TY's win, but that was against a foreigner (no offense to Scarlett, but I think most koreans have some kind of superiority complex).
Also, FlaSh looked absolutely crushed yesterday after the games. I really hope he's OK and will bounce back quickly !

From what I understand R1CH was on vacation, which causes the delay. Btw if you didnt see, the OP said it should be up in 9 hours

Ok thanks. My OP reading skills are notoriously bad.
Prime actually has a legitimate chance to beat ST here. Yoda's got a respectable winrate in TvT and he can absolutely topple Bomber, giving his team the psychological edge. Then they'll lose it immediately because Terror is completely fucked... BUT Creator and Myungsik can be good enough under the right circumstances.
Edit: Super exciting for these matches. Especially CJ vs Samsung (which makes me super sad, because I want both of these teams to win, and I especially want Dear and herO to win [gosh darn my fan boy luck]) and KT vs JinAir!

Dunno, he's still at 57% in PvP for the last two months, plus it's Bo1, so hey, anything could happen. And Dear isn't exactly in top shape currently.

That 57% in PvP shows him barely beating Rain (which was HIS upset, finally not losing a disappointing PvP Final), and him beating Protosses on the way to his eventual defeat to Protosses in PvP finals.
Why do so many people predict KT win? Jin Air got favourable matchups no?
KT's best player has to play in his worst matchup, sOs can do all sorts of weird stuff vs terran and win (even with carriers o.O), Rogue's best matchup is ZvT imo and Stats vs Cure is 50-50

Yeah, Jin Air probably got the best they could have hoped for.

Dark lurks under the radar and had some really good showings last season. He was top of in-house tournaments last season for SKT. He may have lost to MKP recently but ProLeague is all about prep and Dark has better T practice partners than MKP has Z ones.

Thats why I am such a Bomberfan: Be Player/Coach, say you focus more on individual Leagues and then set yourself as the first player of your team to take pressure from any other player of your team who never played in SPL.
STYOE will not be rank #1, but they gonna be the most interessting team this year. Go Go
Man just two months ago I would have said that KT would demolish. When Zest and Flash were on fire, and Stats was becoming a top 5 protoss. Now they seem so fragile

Yeah i would be interested in that as well. No statements about it anywhere
CJ is pretty much what I expected but I imagine we'll see Hush rotated with Skyhigh/Trust/Sora/Bunny depending on the week.
Samsung really confused me here. eMotion seems like a downgrade to either Hurricane or Stork and I'd take Shine over playing Bravo. But anyway I'm not in the teamhouse so what do I know?
ST-yoe: Surprised at Leenock/Curious over San/Hack but I think we'll see some rotation in that lineup and those four are all fairly even imo.
Prime: Well they're playing their big three like we all knew would happen but I'd have expected to see B4 over Terror. I guess Prime doesn't have that many options beyond those two as a fourth unless they wanna give TANGTANG a shot (I imagine they will at some point).
KT: Least surprising roster of all time
JAGW: Solid. They could just as easily have played Trap, Pigbaby, or Terminator in place of Cure or Rogue or something. Most depth of any team and we should see a lot of swapping there, although I think they lineup they played this week is about as strong as they can get with Rogue playing so well these days.
SKT: No surprises here. Inno/soO/Classic is the obvious core and Dark is probably their fourth best player. I expect Dark and Dream to rotate for the most part.
MVP: This one is pretty interesting, as I didn't know how much of Seed we would see. He just made Code S so I guess he's impressed the team. Yonghwa has been impressing recently and he seems like their strongest Protoss at the moment, but I would expect HerO and Panic to also get their chances. Center is an interesting choice over someone like Losira, Taeja, or Panic but we'll see how it pans out.

I think with how wonky TvT has gotten with all its aggressive openings Bomber could lose even though I think he is the better TvT and overall player. Even in ZvZ Life should stomp Terror senseless. The problem is I could sort of see the PvZs going either way which makes me nervous. We'll see.

Nah the biggest upset involved a terran vs Life. I think that terran switched to passionstone (not 100% sure though)

Im a little disappointed with there choice of teams for days. Usually you'd want to open with a bang and play the best teams first, and we have 2 of the worst teams playing day 1.
Jin Air vs KT on day 2 though.... oh baby here we go!

CJ 3-2 Samsung
ST-yoe 3-1 Prime
KT 1-3 Jin Air
SKT 3-0 MVP
Yeah CJ and Samsung are pretty garbage
That ST vs Prime matchup tho what a rivalry
I actually meant Samsung and Prime, ST-yoe might surprise us this season.

Interesting fpl season ahead of you then? But one round should be enough to get a grasp of it i think
I couldn't disagree more. FPL is volatile to the point where you have terribad teams that can take a round by storm and go from 7-8th to 3-4th like Mvp did between Round 1 and Round 2 in Proleague this year. (Eh, Samsung went from #2 to #7 in the meantime). So you have quite some time before things stabilize

Given how unstable even BO3 qualifiers / BO5 challenger has been in the past few weeks, there's no way BO1 proleague is going to be any more predictable, especially with all the specialisation on a single build vs a single player

Because it's very easy for weak-minded people to punch the "worst" team from the last season of SPL... Their team loses --> don't worry there is still Prime which we can hate onto to make ourselfs feel better.
But I know this will change with this season, there will be a new punching bag for sure... ^^

That questioned has been asked and answered to death.
CJ < SAMSUNG (Z)ByuL < (Z)Solar - Solar is just a better player. (P)Hush < (P)eMotion - I don't know any of these players...so I picked eMotion for the hell of it. (P)herO[jOin] > (P)Dear - herO is better than Dear at the moment, but it can go either way since PvP is a luck based match up. (T)Bbyong > (T)BrAvO - Bbyong is just a better player. Ace: herO < Solar - Solar is one of the best PvZ players, despite herO beating Snute.
ST-Yoe > PRIME (T)Bomber > (T)YoDa - Bomber is very good in TvT. (Z)Life > (Z)TerrOr - It's Life. (Z)Leenock < (P)Creator - Two old school kids. Assuming Creator's mentality is back to normal from his tears during the qualifiers, he will beat Leenock...but through some macro slugfest. (Z)Curious < (P)MyuNgSiK - I don't know. I just wanted an ace match. Ace: Life > YoDa - It's Life against a Terran that is not fOrGG.
KT < JIN AIR (P)Zest < (T)Maru - Zest is in a slump and Maru has god-like TvP. (T)TY < (P)sOs - sOs is just a better player. (T)Flash > (Z)Rogue - Flash is just a better player. (P)Stats < (T)Cure - Cure has better TvP than Stats has PvT.
SKT > MVP (Z)Dark < (T)MarineKing - MarineKing is playing like a god right now. (T)INnoVation > (T)Center - Innovation is just a better player. (P)Classic > (P)Seed - I want SKT to win. But this one can go either way because PvP is a luck based matchup. Either way, both of these players did nothing after their GSL wins so it doesn't even matter who wins. (Z)soO < (P)YongHwa - soO is in one of the biggest slumps I have ever seen. YongHwa will win because soO will make some bronze level mistakes. Ace: INnoVation > MarineKing - MarineKing will try some Maru stuff, but it won't work and Innovation will win.
