![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Fgk7kju.png) It is with great pleasure that we add another member to our ranks today. Back from inactivity, Sonic, a former WCS America Challenger player, returns to StarCraft 2 with a fresh mindset and a new team. We are so pleased he’s decided to return, and can’t wait to see what he can accomplish! Statement from Solaris Gaming owner Jason PunIt's with great pleasure that I'm able to welcome Sonic to the team today. Having been at one point in time, one of North America's brightest up and coming talents, his sudden inactivity raised many question marks as to the heights that he could someday reach. Now that he has returned, we want to see Sonic fulfil his potential and provide him the best experience and environment possible to help him achieve just that. We hope you join us in welcoming him back to the scene as well as to the Solaris Gaming family. Statement from Wenxue "Sonic" JinIt's an honor to be a part of Solaris Gaming, with a lot of old friends and teammates. The players and managers all seem very passionate and friendly. It's been a while since I've played actively and I will try my best to improve and represent Solaris Gaming. We hope that you continue to support and cheer on Solaris Gaming and our players. we are very excited to add another Terran to our ranks, and hope that Sonic can achieve his full potential with us! Congrats to Sonic and Solaris - I hope his family issues are sorted out so his future participation in ournaments isn't interrupted.
So does this mean Core's officially disbanded?

So does this mean Core's officially disbanded? I'm not sure if they still exist as a community team as I was told a while ago but they're pro team has been gone for a while now.

Yes. Sonic was the last player on the pro-roster on Core. And even then I'm not sure he remained salaried because everyone else on Core had left. And someone close to the Core set-up said on TL that the pro-team was no longer ages ago.
But according to Liquipedia at least they still have a clan of grandmasters left, which still includes EJK who was on Breaking Out last season.

But EJK's GM account on NA has the clan tag [EJK], meaning he's most likely teamless. I'd assume right now that Core's gone belly-up.

Awesome pick up by Solaris! Sonic is a great terran player and very deserving of having such a sick team to help support him!

I find it slightly interesting that Solaris picked up Sonic considering that Sonic destroyed Solaris. Anyways, congratulations to Sonic!

Hard to update when there is little info on the subject.

This guy is really good. I was honestly really sad when he joined core. I thought for sure Core was going to die but at least, to my understanding, he got what he was promised while he played for them.
Hopefully these new teams like solaris can actually help players like Sonic get way more popular. He's one of the few amazing Terrans NA has.
