The luck of the foreigners ran out in WCS Europe as (P)First and (Z)Ai.Golden advanced to the Round of 8 from Group C.

The teamless Korean Protoss First soundly defeated Golden in his opening games and went on to beat MaNa 2-1 in the winner's match to secure himself a spot in the quarterfinals. Game one of First vs MaNa saw the Polish Protoss draw first blood with his aggressive blink build beating First's fast expand. First opened with a proxy gateway in Game 2, and after a bizarre base-trade game, First emerged the victor. In game three, First defended MaNa's early aggression fairly easily and counter-attacked to secure the win.

Unfortunately for European fans, (P)Liquid`MaNa and (P)Grubby were unable to advance. Grubby won his first game of the day against MaNa, but disappointingly would go 0-4 in the remainder of the group against both MaNa and Golden. MaNa looked solid in his 2-1 win against Grubby, and seemed to have a shot at defeating First in the winner's match, but fell just short. After falling to face Golden in the elimination series, he was able to tie the series up at 1-1 with a strong immortal push in Game 2, but couldn't beat Golden's well executed ling/hydra/corruptor play in the final game and was forced to tap out.

Next game day -
Group D:
(Z)LiveZerg, (P)StarDust, (P)San, (Z)Nerchio

Players Qualified for the Ro8:
(Z)VortiX, (Z)Golden
(T)ForGG
(P)Welmu, (P)MC, (P)First

Really happy Golden advanced

Also he's been one of the only Koreans to actually do his interview in English so major props to him for doing that.

Group went like I expected with First going through, and then Mana and Golden having a tight battle of the second spot. Some nice games in those series.

Actually these days outside Korea, it doesn't seem all that rare. Golden a bit more comfortable with it than most though, which is nice to see.

But yeah props to Golden and other Koreans for understanding that it is in fact a good skill to have.
why even

It's been several months since I don't go Golden's stream or follow him at tourneys, and yesterday when he was giving the interview I noticed he improved so so much! Also, it was one of the cutest interviews I've seen

Way to go Golden, grats! He kind of reminds me of Binski the way he talks, except much more eloquent.
