It's time for Round 4 of Fantasy Proleague! The first round was full of surprises (Stork!?) and great performances (Rain?!), and after a slew of roster changes, it's time to sign up and earn some esports dollars!
Here are some important facts to know going into Round 4:
Automated signup cutoff! No more will you incur the wrath of R1CH for submitting your team late.
Groups can be created with a password (hi TB)
Round 4 will be the standard proleague format. See the scoring section for more info.
Matches will be played Sunday-Tuesday.
There will be 5 weeks of play.
Trading a team incurs a -1 trade tax penalty.
Joining a group is now available from the group standings page (so you can link people to your group).
How to Play
You choose 6 players and 1 Pro Team that score you points when they play well.
You pick 3 players for your Anti-team as well. They lose you points when they play well.
Players and teams can be traded between weeks for those valued less than them.
Lineup Appearance: +1 Point* Game Win: +2 Points Game Loss: -1 Point 3-Game Win Streak: +1 Point 6-Game Win Streak: +2 Points 9-Game Win Streak: +3 Points Ace Appearance: +1 Points Ace Win: +3 Ace Loss: -2 Break Another Player's Streak: +1 Point Your Player's Team Wins: +1 Point**
*This point is applied even if your player does not play; he only has to appear in the lineup **This counts for all players on the team's roster, even if they did not play in the match
SK Telecom T1: 2 Points (+2 for 3-2 Victory) MVP: 1 Point (+1 for 2-3 Defeat) Rain: 5 Points (+1 for lineup, -1 for loss, +1 for ace appearance, +3 for ace win, +1 for team win) soO: 4 Points (+1 for lineup, +2 for win, +1 for team win) Parting: 4 Points (+1 for lineup, +2 for win, +1 for team win) Soulkey: 1 Point (+1 for lineup, -1 for loss, +1 for team win) DongRaeGu: -1 Points (+1 for lineup, -1 for loss, +1 for ace appearance, -2 for ace loss) Dream: 3 Points (+1 for lineup, +2 for win) Shine: 3 Points (+1 for lineup, +2 for win) Super: 0 Points (+1 for lineup, -1 for loss) Everyone else on SK Telecom T1: 1 Point (+1 for team win) Everyone else on MVP: 0 Points
Check lineups each week! Players facing weak teams are generally more valuable.
Don't make trades just for sake of making trades, as they cost you trade tax points and you may get stuck with a player you don't want
The trade price formula takes into account number of matches remaining -- so players with more matches remaining will have higher prices
You must trade for players with less value, but try to minimize the value loss. For example, if you trade someone worth 30 for someone worth 20, next week you can only trade the 20 for someone less. It's much better to trade the 30 for someone worth 29.
Groups
You will be able to create and join groups so you can compare your results with a smaller subset of the players, for example there might be a Staff Group, a First Time FPL Group, a USA Players Group, or a group created by you with just your friends.
count me in :3 my team is a bit weird so i'll be making many a trade, hopefully i'll do well coulda finished top 100 last time if not for the idiocy of trading roro for classic instead of rain
BTW, what database do you guys use to see how each player was doing in previous Proleague seasons? Liquipedia doesn't seem to be handy in this [which is surprising for me, first time I don't find it very useful O.o], TLDB needs lots of clicking to show me teamleagues results and I can't seem to an option to see detailed results for PL only...

So here's my next attempt. Aptly named I think. I basically tried to get as many guys that worked for me last time (although some became too expensive Lost my Roro. And IM gives me a decent amount of points without costing very much.
I'm pretty sure that team is going to be trash homie. I'M are not going to be good for you, and having soulkey, soo and dark is bad because theyre unlikely to all play at the same time.
As a first time player trying to evaluate these mid tier players, do you guys think a 9 cost and a 0 cost player are more valuable, or a 4 cost and a 5 cost? I wish I knew the trade value formula haha.

It's your own personal preference, but from what I've seen, a 9 and 0 cost would be the safest route to go. A 4 and 5 cost is gambling because the likelyhood that they'll win is about 50-50, but a 9 cost has a higher chance of winning and a good chance to come out in the ace match (if there is one). You could honestly do a team of 3x 9 cost players and 3x 0 cost players and a team, but the problems are if one of them performs mediocre, you only have 3 players with trade value.
Hello! I signed up this season and last season but something seems to be wrong I don't receive my team I did everything right I've been playing in all previous seasons but by some reason I don't get a team these last two D: anyone with the same problem who can help me ?!
Damn no idea if I submitted a team that I tested out. (usually do it in case I forget to add one) Going to be a surprise I guess when the FPL gets updated so you can check your teams if I added one or not

Hard to make FPL work without knowing the line-ups. There would be too much potential for imbalanced teams if player values were set without the first week's matches being known ahead of time. Because line-ups aren't released until some two days before the matches, opening FPL any earlier would be impossible

Sigh, I missed it. What was that, a 24 hour window? I was looking for it yesterday or the day before (idk anymore, my sense of time gets bad over the weekend)
edit - I generally base my signups based on the countdown timer ontop of the page, was there one this time?
edit 2 - alright, 2 days. My bad then. Thanks Rich
It was open for a little over two days, with a news post and multiple tweets. Not sure how else to promote it when the rosters and lineups come out so late .

iirc player values have been set before W1 matchups are shown, multiple times.
It's not W1 lineups that matter the most, but roster changes which weren't announced until like Thursday. Once FPL lineups are set there is no way to change it. Players who are removed from rosters might get picked. They will make easy anti team additions since they will score 0 points. Player additions would also be a problem. They will also affect the math. W1 line ups matter for maybe 3 or 4 players.
I traded Savage off my anti and put him on my main, gave me +15 trade gain lol. If only Super and MVP hadn't decided to collapse after week 1 I'd be top 100 #FPLtroubles.
#32! Not bad. I'm surpised about, how well this round is going for me. I thought I'm doomed, after weeks 2 and 3. But my great trades (Bbyong for Maru, Super for Rogue and Stork for herO on anti) + decent performance of Flash, Zest and Jin Air catapulted me on top. I hope I can manage to get even better rank in last week.
If only I could ditch hydra somehow for someone that is not worse to have as an anti. I guess one is bound to have negative points, but -8 from one guy is irritating.
After week 1 I was in the 1000+ range, and thought for sure I had completely failed this round, but through an excellent couple of trades and some of my player picks finally delivering, I've risen each subsequent week, going first up to like 800, then to 400, and finally now to 113. The trades I did felt like strokes of genius even when I did them, and in retrospect I did gain 12 points from only 3 trades, pretty good. It's not over yet though, hahah, so we'll see if I don't lose all my points in the end.
As always the anti-team does a lot of damage, mine has given me a 15 point minus, but that's actually a fairly average amount as far as I can tell. It could've been less, but I took some MVP damage, that I could've possible avoided. Though it's no big deal, anti-team trading is really finicky.
My main problem now, as I see it, is that I should've prepared for both week 4 and 5 due to how trading for the last week works. Since my team isn't particularly ready for week 5, I think I'll drop a few ranks again, but overall I'm very happy with this round. With my top 100 finish last round, and reaching 113 for this round, I feel like I've finally got the hang of FPL (And this time was done in the last 5 minutes... I had considered my players longer than that, but I had to rush make in the last minutes because I had forgotten, heh).
That is the link to mine for this round. r=21 in that address refers to the round that you are currently in. If you change that to r=20, you will see last rounds results. So just use that to see whatever past rounds you want! :D
BTW that part wasn't in the address when I first opened my FPL tab, but I just hit the "Statistics" tab and went back to "my team" and it was there.

Congratulations to IamBiSa for the 1st place finish!
Thank you very much. I dedicate this win to my mom and dad. :D I've never anticipated I would be capable of competing with the "Gods of TL" who have way more experience than me in FPL. I got really lucky in week 2 of round 4 despite not being able to trade because of travel. After a disappointing week 4 I thought I might not be able to hold the first place any longer, but thankfully it all went well in the end.
Jin Air and soO managed to salvage my FPL to around 400s this round from like 1k+ so that's nice. I traded ByuL for cure for some odd reason though... terrible terrible mistake. Never doubting ByuL again.

I did the same thing, only I went from 400s to 1k+

It can be worse... like trading him for TY. Never ever let your fangirlism make decisions regarding your FPL!

You played awesome, any win by 13 points may need a little luck but also shows how much you crushed well done!
I forgot to trade at all between week 4 and 5 haha. In the end I'm at 150 for this round, 274th overall, which is pretty good considering I ended near rank 2000 for the first two rounds.
