HerO advanced back into Premier in a quick 3-0 over the young Terran from EG, Xenocider. Xenocider tried a variety of early aggression including a proxy barracks in HerO's base in game 1, but HerO looked solid in his defense and was able to capitalize on his early game advantages. It would have been strange to have a Premier League without HerO, and his win came as no real surprise. It was undoubtedly a tough draw for Xenocider, who will now have to fight his way back though the qualifiers in Season 3.
hendralisk vs Scarlett was the most exciting series of the night as the Complexity Zerg was able to upset the powerhouse Scarlett 3-0 in tense games. The strategies employed by hendralisk were well thought out and executed, with interesting +1 carapace ling/baneling attacks giving him early advantages which allowed him to combat Scarlett's muta midgame with roach/infestor/hydralisk. You can listen to hendralisk's thoughts on the series here.
The final series was a PvP between Has (of Polar Night Cannon rush fame) and Pigbaby, the latest of the retired/not retired players to reach Premier League. Has managed to take game 1, but it was all downhill from there as Pigbaby swept the remaining three games to claim his spot in Premier League.
WCS AM Challenger Continues on Wednesday, Wednesday, May 07 10:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) with the following matches:
Well, I like Scarlett very much and am sad she won't be in the Premier, but if this Hendralisk guy is half as fun as you make him be [never watched him], then it's not that bad I suppose.
Scarlett still looks a little off, as she has throughout 2014. The preparation from Hendralisk was exquisite, but it definitely feels like one more episode of her current slump, rather than the rise of a new foreign hope.
