Thanks for your expert business advice.

Well maybe you can enlighten me then... How does a subreddit sponsor a team in a meaningful way? I do not understand.

Doing some research would probably help.

The assumption of my post was that TB does have "business advice" on this subject, clearly, as he is the one who signed whatever partnership; and therefore, it would be nice to have some general information. The point was to ask for him to elaborate upon it because I do not understand how a subreddit can sponsor a team. Telling me to "do some research" is a rather childish response to a genuine question.

A person posted that they have an "advertising budget" but I have no clue if that has any correlation to whatever TB signed. I do not want their exact partnership details written out, as that would be expecting too much, but "how" the subreddit plans to help the team or in what ways is not too much to expect. For all we know it might just be a branding thing to increase awareness of both since there really was no details on the partnership and TB has signed promotional sponsors previously.

It's a sponsorship. It's money, what else would it be? That's what a sponsorship is.

And no I have never signed a "promotional sponsor" whatever that means. Every sponsor of Axiom has done what a sponsor does, which is pay for the sponsorship.

I was referring to the "community sponsorship" with SC2Links. I imagine that this website, in relative terms, is not on the same level as your sponsorship with WASD. Lets be honest here, I do not actually know this, but as an outsider I would be incredibly surprised if they were giving monetary value equal to the equipment/support WASD does. This is what I meant by a promotional sponsor. If anything, you're doing more for their site than they're doing for you - at least - as far as I can see. For that reason, I was wondering if this was along the same lines. From your response I imagine it is not. Sorry if my wording was not clear, but that was what I meant.

+ Show Spoiler +
I never said this was a bad thing btw. I simply wanted some relevant information on the actual substance of the sponsorship.

I'd rather have bitcoin tbh. Getting bitcoin is like getting cash with a sick interest rate.

Sick indeed! About -50% over the past four months....

Well, grats to Axiom, although I wonder how a subreddit can make enough money to sponsor a team... Still, I'm very excited for TB and the rest of the team!

Bitcoin needs to evangalize not just to increase value, but stay alive.

The more people they can get to believe in Bitcoin, the more value it has. If you have 100 coins, and can convince 50,000 people that they are worth money, they may increase demand, making your coins increase in value, and it's worth your time.

So, makes perfect sense to me. More advertising, more chances at evangalizing, and hopefully Axiom gets something good out of it.

I'm sorry, but the thing we call "money" is grounding on the fact that people believe that little pieces of metal and wool actually do have a value. If we wouldn't, we'd still trade two cows for a carport, I guess. Bitcoin is just another thing. I'm not sure though if a sponsorship that is decentralized, based on a community that has a kind of QQ reputation and in the end is dependant on donations, is really a good thing for a team that wants to be taken seriously in the long run. But, I am pretty sure TB knows what he's doing, so.. well, who cares? They get money, which is always great.

At least it's not Claufzubu?

no one needs to come into this thread and "prove" that bitcoin is unreliable because anyone who follows the news seriously has already seen multiple headlines about bitcoin crashing, burning and oscillating wildly

the burden of proof is on bitcoin right now because, objectively speaking, no substantial or serious portion of world industry has actually ever relied on it. also, common sense dictates that the people promoting bitcoin are the same people who benefit the most from bitcoin being successful. it's well-intentioned, but mechanically similar to a pyramid scheme at this point

it's possible that cryptocurrency could become viable and legitimate, but at this point we don't even have to debate it because bitcoin literally hasn't done anything yet other than being shuffled around between an arcane subculture of early adopters

anyway, all that aside, grats to axiom. TB wants to be an early supporter of something novel and risky, so that's his prerogative!

It's reddit man. Nothing that happens on that site makes sense.

Gratz to Axiom and Totalbiscuit. Can't wait to see the jersey patch lol

I'm gonna assume using similar methods that dogecoin did seeing as they are sponsoring a nascar driver.

Bitcoin is a very risky investment, one way or another. "money" and "bitcoin" dosent have any value in the real world.

The things is, Money is managed by goverments that use money as a form of stability since they draw income in form of taxes from it, yet bitcoin dosent really have any party interested behind it to keep it stable.

Online you can find many people clearly stating whenever bitcoin is or not legit. I investigated myself, did the math, and I dont like Bitcoin from my calculations.

M advice is that you check it yourself. As for Axiom, without knowing the contract specifics, there is no telling if its good or not... or rather, for whom its good.

OT:

IMO, bitcoin is truely a dangerous thing if it's ever to be a real thing. It's not being controlled, it's not available for anyone, but the big thing is, that one can generate the stuff on his own. I'm not too informed on the topic of bitcoins, I think due to the used algorithms there are limits in generating new coins. Correct me if wrong.

Monetary systems that might once have an impact on real-life economy shouldn't be "mined", "controlled", distributed or anything else by a bunch of random anonymous people from the internet. Imagine reddit community being able to create real-life dollars. You wouldn't want that, would you?

The question is why you care to know the specifics of the sponsorship. It's reasonable to assume that money is being exchanged for exposure. Beyond that it really looks like you and the others are just trying to cast negativity. Especially when your first question was how the sponsorship could possibly be meaningful.

It's best to assume that the sponsorship is a positive thing and that Axiom knows much better than you.

As expected from TL posters. Someone gets a sponsorship and they just come into the thread and post their uninformed opinions without thought.

This goes both ways. His opinion in particular made no sense. If I've learned anything it's that most people are incapable of being critical because they can't think critically.

What the fuck are you talking about? Did you even bother to read what I said in spoilers or understand the point I was getting at? Instead of filling this forum with thousands of mindless posts you should probably think and read a little more before you post something as off base as this.

What I asked for was general information about the sponsorship. TB answered my question that it was monetary funding. Why would I want to know this? Because that sort of dictates how important and how much of an impact it has on the team.

If every jump start NA team made a thread about how they got sponsored by a web hosting company that pays for their website do you think we would care? No. Would I care if this sponsorship was simply TB being "featured" by a subreddit in return for advertising their brand? No. If there is actual funding here, as TB has clarified, then that is good for them. This was pretty basic information and not specific at all lmao.

edit: just for clarification TB... my post wasn't an "opinion" it was a question, if the above post was referencing my posts. I'm not quite sure how it didn't make any sense to you especially after the second post. I'd gladly break it down further if the spoiler above doesn't explain it enough for you or doodsmack... lol

I suppose reddit and tb are a match made in heaven though.

I never said this was a bad thing btw. I simply wanted some relevant information on the actual substance of the sponsorship.

As expected from TB. Someone phrases a ciritical question he just leashes out and passive agressivly insults ppl.
Well gl for the Axiom guys!

As expected from ignorant people who have nothing better to do with their lives. Call out and try to tear down those above you, instead of actually listening to them in hopes of curing your ignorance. Classy!

I like this a lot. Bitcoin rules.

But the US Federal Reserve will not allow this.
