In the ’13 SPL season, a “yellow cardigan wearing China’s beautiful little sister” was seen captured on camera on SPL broadcasts, which caught the attention of a lot of players, some diligent players even discovered her name – Irena. Having already had an interview, everyone knew that this “yellow cardigan sister” was not only a fan of Starcraft, but also even a Jaedong fangirl. Even so this mysterious beauty has not been heard from since.
At WCG2013 world finals in Kushan, our Starcraft reporter again met Irena, even though during that SPL when she was under the spotlight she did not accept the journalist’s interviews, utilizing personal connections Irena conveniently accepted the third interview request; about some of her secrets, she also was not reserved and shared with everyone.
StarReporter: Hi, Irena, why don’t you say hello to everyone? Give a brief introduction of yourself, I’m sure a lot of players know you from being on camera at SPL.
Yellow Girl: Hello everyone, I am Irena. Uhm, I’m an actress and a model, I usually shoot in films, commercials, photo shoots, etc. ~ it’s just recently that I was in that M&M TV commercial as the heroine ~ (T/N: I think it’s this one) I’m not sure if anyone noticed ~ and also the yellow cardigan girl captured at last year’s SPL studio hahahaha.
I’m not sure how best to introduce myself to everyone, like you guys, I am also a Starcraft fangirl.
StarReporter: By what luck were you introduced to Starcraft?
Yellow Girl: I accidentally had the opportunity to see friends watching a Starcraft competition, watching along with this excitable event, I also became a fangirl; even though I don’t have a lot of time to play, watching competitions has always been a big hobby of mine, and still is.
StarReporter: What do you think makes you attracted to Starcaft? Wild battlefronts or fights filled with a visceral feeling (laughs)?
Yellow Girl: Uhm, how to say this, many times it is exciting battlefronts. Every time you watch a tournament there will always be many surprise twists.
StarReporter: This time, did you come to WCG to watch Starcraft again?
Yellow Girl: Indeed, because I normally only watch from the TV, it’s rare to be able to watch on site, so I had to come watch.

StarReporter: Do you usually play Starcraft2? How long do you normally play?
Yellow Girl: Because of work, I usually have very little time to play games, many times I won’t even turn on my computer for a month, more often I watch competitions online, and when I play, it’s just for an hour or two, with my friends we play together until they get too lazy to abuse me (laughs). So, when I’m afraid of getting beat up I don’t dare play (laughs).
StarReporter: Disclose your current playing level.
Yellow Girl: Starcraft 1 is lv1, Starcraft 2 is bronze level.
StarReporter: What is your favorite race, and why?
Yellow Girl: Zerg, you understand already.
StarReporter: Oh ~ because you’re a Jaedong fangirl?
Yellow Girl: Ahaha, you could say that? Jaedong’s play is very dominant he is very strong! But in fact it must be said that I am actually a fan of many players, I’ll watch anyone’s games. Actually it’s more accurate to say that I am a Starcraft fan (laughs).
StarReporter: No need to explain, why did you pick him [Jaedong] as your idol?
Yellow Girl: It’s actually like this, when I was first introduced to Starcraft when I kept watching Starcraft 1 competitions, Jaedong’s playstyle was beautiful, in fact because there were many Korean player interviews, I’d often see interviews and jokingly say, Jaedong is a very pretty player ~.

StarReporter: Do you ever get the feeling that Zerg has a bit of a certain yucky feeling?
Yellow Girl: It’s really the exact opposite, they actually have a certain cuteness (laughs). (T/N)
StarReporter: Do you usually watch his [JD’s] games?
Yellow Girl: Not only Jaedong’s, when I have time, there are many competitions that I won’t miss ~
StarReporter: I think it’s been brought up in your previous interview, you want to make him warm soup and give him back massages etc., I’ll give you another chance, what else would you want to say or do for him?
Yellow Girl: Because I really wanted to go to the studio to watch, and also just because of a half joking response 3 years ago, at that time including in Korea I think there were a lot of articles appearing about how I want to make Jaedong soup; it made me so embarrassed (laughs), I don’t know if I caused Jaedong any trouble, if I did then I’ll really make him a soup to apologize (laughs).

StarReporter: Are you familiar with any players in mainland China? Who is your favorite?
Yellow Girl: If it’s within mainland China I actually talked a little with Macsed at IEM, our Chinese players are still very cute haha ~~~

StarReporter: Now for the interesting questions, if we were to host an Irena cup sometime, and you’re responsible for presenting the trophy cup, who would you hope will win?
Yellow Girl: There are actually a lot of players that I like very much, they’re all close to my heart! Having me imagine this is good. (T/N: no idea)
StarReporter: If you could pick any random player to take you as an apprentice, who would you pray to have as a teacher?
Yellow Girl: My teacher should be Tossgirl right? After all, she’s strength and beauty combined into one player, role model ahh.
StarReporter: If you could turn into a very dangerous player, even stronger than Jaedong, Parting, these types, but you will gain 20 pounds in return, would you be willing?
Yellow Girl: This… of course I prefer watching games (laughs).
StarReporter: If you could randomly change the balance of Starcraft2 without having to think further about balance in other situations, how would you fix/change Starcraft2?
Yellow Girl: As a viewer, I think that the balance is actually not bad, I just wish that competitions would invoke more waves, after all viewers hope to see more awesome moves, but also not continuing for a long time after waving GG (T/N: sounds like a fantasy to me); I am an amateur viewer don’t spread things that I said wrong.
StarReporter: Before this interview, many players knew you a little, there are not many interviews of you; because many players still think you are secretive, you now have two choices; first is say a couple finals words to the players, second is to remain silent, and be a “mysterious beauty”.
