It's more likely that he simply was only signed through Dec 2013, and they didn't choose to renew his contract to the new year. They bought MC when he was one of the best in the world and before LoL and DotA 2 took off. Now he's not the best in the world and SK Gaming has always been more invested in games that weren't RTSes (they only had small support for WC3/SC2 compared to their support for WoW/FPSes/MOBAs), so it doesn't make sense to renew his contract at the same rate as before.

Talk about over dramatic pessimism. This guy is so marketable he'll get a team in a heartbeat. He's probably the most marketable Korean SC2 player, period.
I don't think he's the most marketable korean sc2 player. He's marketable, but tbh I forget he exists sometimes because you don't hear much about him.

Beat them in what ? A teamleague that doesn't exist ? EG doesn't want more sc2 players.

Well, they aren't showing signs of wanting to participate. I'm still sticking with the idea that EG's plans for sc2 in 2014 is promote the hell out of Jaedong in individual tournaments and keep the cheap foreigners for streaming and shit.
Incontrol clearly said they're not replacing aLive, Oz and Revival.

MCs gonna find another team I'm very sure.

If I will guess, I say acer makes most sense to me, they dont have any protoss players and MC can do the Innovation and start his comeback in a foreign team, I think it will help him to bring back the MC we all loved to see in WoL.

Lol, weirdest break-up ever...

I know. Don't take offence in what I said. I acknowledge ATC is a good teamleague. Just like Proleague is one as well. Doesn't make EG seem interested in them anyway. That's why I sigh at people expecting EG to recruit players for teamleagues they don"'t want to play in.

SK MC sounded so well. Needs a team with a matching short.

well, he's been on the team for a while. Maybe he also wanted to move on as well. Best of luck to him!

Maybe MC sacrificed himself to save SK from having to bankrupt their SCII team paying him?
Pointless speculation is amusing.
