First we had those initial days when the project would get 10% of the goal every 24h. Then a great void of donations and generalized despair among most backers. If SCU died in the womb the frustration would be brutal for the mod scene. Then Upheaval guys, those professional programmers, artists and producers, those amateur game designers, worked their asses out in the multiplayer alpha. And we all got so excited, and did what we could to show that to everyone because apparently the video wasn't quite making it into the game news. So all of a sudden the project has one of its best backing days in a big time. And it doesn't stop. And now you (we?) are more than 24 hours to go and already more than 100% funded. I've heard a very bright opinion against this project in the first days: since nowadays there are AAA free to play games in the market, no matter how Blizzard or the modding community tried, the Arcade will never be as big as Warcraft 2 UMS scene was because today there are just better options around. It's an interesting perspective. But right now I'm really full of hope and excited about the SC2 modding scene. Maybe SCU is the next level, the evolution Blizzard mods needed to remain relevant in the years to come. What a fresh breeze you are going to be for the community, Starcraft Universe! I hope I'll have hours of fun with you very soon. I hope all we almost 1600 backers keep supporting this game, playing it, advertizing it, helping it to get all the stretch goals it deserves in the future: the Zerg class, the MOBA arena, the extra chapter, and at least some flashback zones! I did all I could to help, count me in in the future to keep supporting this project! | ||
