FXOCrazy just tweeted that the NA division of FXOpen has been disbanded.

There's been no official announcement or anything, but yeah fxo.na disbanded
Wow, didn't see this one coming. But I guess their NA players haven't had much of any success compared to the FXO-Na'vi players, especially if you look at WCS NA compared to WCS EU.
Well I mean it didn't seem like FXO cared all that much about fxo NA. You heard very little about them and all that. Sucks I wish FXO had cared a little more about the NA team but oh well.
I had really hoped that FXO would be the team that could bring the Korean-standard in Foreign players. But I guess it is more complex than simply copying the practice regiment of FXOkr
I will be releasing an official FXO thread in a couple of days explaining our current situation. The NA team disbanding is not the only thing that has occurred.

Do you mean the roster of the remaining players that are currently team less? The entire roster on Liquipedia except Jimrising, Drunkenboi, jecho, and Desrow. I left a few hours before the team officially shut down.

Don't tell me Gerrard asked Choya to give away Tassadar.
I didn't want to make the post on twitter saying it disbanded, but a couple of the staff had already commented saying the team was no longer around in a reddit thread. When I got asked to join I was honestly not that good of a player, I got a lot better as time went on while I was in fxo and started actually beat some pretty good players towards the end of when i was able to play full time sc2. I accredit a lot of me getting better as a player to being on the team. There was a lot of good young talent on this team even if you have not heard of them as a spectator. Wish we could continue as a team, but we all have to move on~
I took over from josh back in september 2012, he had been teaching me how to run the team for about 12 months before that, so he made sure the team would be fine before he left

Doesn't suck for Neeb one bit. Neeb was able to accomplish a plethora of things in his short time with us. Do you know how many managers have asked me for his contact info? Neeb is going places

Really sad to see FXO. NA disband... I really enjoyed seeing all the players in team leagues and qualifiers. I hope a lot of other up and coming teams pick up the players/management!
Neeb to EG plz. Been suporting him since he wasnt high profile. Now he was in the premire league. I hope he joins a good team before he quits and not let that talent go to waste.
I remember the awesome players that FXO used to have including Sheth, Moonglade and QXC. Maybe not the absolute tip-top best players, but some of the most interesting personalities that have been part of the SC2 scene.

Has optikzero and moonan quit sc2? Havent herd of them in awhile and I remeber optikzero streaming league of legends. Optikzero was one of my favorite sc2 players in 2011.

Aw man I hate to get nostalgic but that time where they played in the GSTL was likely my favourite thing to happen in Starcraft 2.. even more-so than EG-TL. 2011.. the golden age of Starcraft 2.

I don't think either of them have been active since before HotS ;(

Hopefully the other thing(s) are more positive. :-/
Just to clarify, my leaving FXO had nothing to do with e-sports. I left FXOpen the organisation as a director due to other reasons. Mostly career related. As such I had to say bye to e-sports. They came hand in hand basically as I wasn't paid to do e-sports and I spent alot of money (about 80k) from my pocket on the project. Bigger/better things career wise came up, so I took them.
I have not remained "in touch" with e-sports really since coming back to Australia but I do check up on things every now and then.
I am sure the guys who are in control of this will let everyone know whats going on.
seems like professional teams that focus only 1 esport don't last. when i think about teams that have been there for 10years or so all have/had multiple games. sure many starts with just one but they expand.

Well lets be honnest here for a second... 90 % of these players are literally totally unknown...And basically accomplished nothing, yet they still have the priviliege to be on a good and stable structure such as FXO. To me its only normal for FXO to get rid of this money vacuum, that's what i would have done also.
The basic idea was pretty good,an FXO team for each region was pretty cool ; too bad it didn't really show results for the NA scene.
Don't get me wrong, all of these players are obviously good but maybe they don't quite belong in FXO but in lesser known teams (Neeb being an exeption i guess).
Hm I didn't know anybody on this team, but Neeb I think. So since I consider myself a pretty hardcore sc2 follower, this does doesn't com too surprising. Sucks for the NA scene though . Teams supporting lesser known players is important.
Can't say I didn't see this coming and can't say I'm sorry, although I do feel badly for some of the team members. Their biggest mistake was not taking the one player from LgN that would have brought them publicity and notoriety.

Oh no. I don't really know FXO.NA players but when i saw that i thought about you. I hope you can remain in Esports That you will find something. Because if they are disbanding, what does it mean for you ?

If you are talking about Kane, then you should know that Kane left LgN way before they were talking about merging with FXO.
I am sad to see this team disband. FXO.NA/LgN Always had a good roster and helped out their players.

That GSTL run was an absolute blast. Especially QXC's All-Kill of LG-IM. Good times.
Sad to hear FXO go and I hope the players find their new homes. Most notably Neeb, I hope he gets picked up by a big team! He has lots of potential and such a young kid!

GL to them in the future !
it wasnt a money vacuum as none of the players were getting paid.
fxo na was barely even a thing. the management expect that by giving some unknowns a clan tag they would suddenly become better players, didnt happen.

As you are not someone who was ever affiliated with FXO, please don't go around making insulting comments like that. I will be explaining everything soon.

As a manager myself and someone that follows the scene, it is without a doubt in my mind that FXO NA was one of the premiere teams in the region. Ever since their inception, they set high standards in terms of player skill, and just as importantly, being well mannered and well run. It was an honor to play against them and to get to know their players and management.

what did i say that wasnt true? the players werent paid, and someone attached to FXO explicitly said on reddit that they had hoped that people would 'graduate' from fxo NA to real FXO team, but he didnt have any actual explanation for how that would happen.
just because youre personally involved in the situation doesnt mean everyone commenting is insulting you.
As others have said, FXO.NA wasn't heavily supported, and it was essentially an academy team for FXO.KR.
There was no announcement thread, the NA team leagues, with prize pools between $50-200, we played (and would win) aren't watched by more than 100-200 people, and the new website has been under construction for almost the entire FXO.NA existence; and the one hope we had as up and comers was creating content for FXO. If the content was good, then we'd have the FXO fan base to pull from.
Sadly, nothing really gelled together. As strong as the organization is, in a game like Starcraft, teammates mean less. If FXO.NA wants FXO.KR replays to study and learn, who do you pull from, and who makes the decision? Does the manager just decide to ask 1 particular Korean player over another? No one obviously wants to share their replays, b/c this is an individual sport, and their play could potentially be studied by players not affiliated with the organization.
Most of FXO.NA pro gamers were in school or college, making a 5 am practice session with FXO.KR players difficult to achieve, not to mention the latency issues that most experience.
It all just struggled to merge together and made FXO.NA feel like an entirely different organization from FXO.KR, preventing that sense of influence you would expect from the "corporate office." Teammates began leaving which caused ripples which caused ripples which caused ripples. Until this end result was reached.
Sad to see it go, still.
Best of luck to all my teammates, keep in touch ^^
There's some pretty good stuff in there, thanks for linking it. The part where he was ranting about the FXO.KR players not willing to cooperate then asking for a pay raise was funny.

There's a lot of good stuff in it, but unfortunately since most don't know him, it doesn't have a lot of views. It's the type of vid that is worthy of hitting number 1 on reddit so everyone can see it, but I'm not sure if it even made reddit. 495 views is just sad for such a vid.

I don't think It's necessarily something that everyone needs to see, the stuff about sc2 in Korea at the end was ominous and I've been hearing similar things. I don't think we need more widespread negativity right now.
If you guys watch the video, this goes way beyond FXO.NA. Who knows if FXO.KR SC2 will even continue in 2014.
