After quite a few months of R&D and Academy recruitment Clarity Gaming is quite pleased to officially announce the launch of its Community Team. The community is what feeds this industry and allows it to grow. For that reason we’re very happy to do dedicate a part of our organization to giving back to that community. If you are any player of any skill, interest, or time commitment level who is looking for a team and friends of similar interests to surround themselves with; look no further. The Clarity Community team is dedicated to giving you a family to call you own no matter what you’re looking for. If you’re into dedicated ladder player of any level, bronze through masters, we have a place for you. If you’re a casual team game player or arcade/custom map player who is just looking for friends to consistently play with; we have a place for you. If you’re simply looking for a smaller, more tight knit group of people to converse with, watch premier events with, and share your enjoyment of the game, we definitely have a place for you. Finally, if you’re a player who is working day in and day out to get to the next level so that one day you can call yourself a professional gamer, yeah... we’ve got that too. Before getting into the details please note that this announcement is rather lengthy. We have done our best to cover all of our bases and make sure this is as straightforward and self explanatory as possible. With that said, ALL of the finalized & official details, How To Apply, etc may be found on our website: CLICK RIGHT HERE!You will find the mission & vision statement below with a very brief outline of what is covered in full detail on our website. Important Note about Applicants and Geographical Regions: Currently the Academy Team is for North American residents Only. We accept players into the community team from anywhere globally. The expectation is set that the majority of the community team are NA residents. Players living outside the NA region applying for the Master's Division may do so, but will not be able to participate in the Front Runner's tournaments at this time; those tournaments are for players working towards a slot on the Academy Roster (which is limited to NA residents). In the future (2-3 months or more) the Community Team will expand the tournaments to the other Divisions. As Clarity has always been dedicated to the fostering of new talent, helping out those who are overlooked, and helping the industry grow in a sustainable fashion; it is with great pleasure we announce this Community Team. It is our goal to build upon the foundation outlined here to one day offer the type of support and team structure that only so few get right now at the top of the professional gaming industry. This foundation is the first step and eventually we hope to expand our staff to the point that we can offer structured events to players are every skill range and interest level within the community team. While this announcement outlines the plans for the foundation of this community team, we have many plans for expansion moving forward. However we can only expand with your help. We currently do not have the staff to take on more than what is outlined in this “foundation;” lest we bite of more than we can chew. It is our hope to continue to grow our staff as we grow our community team so we may continue to expand the possibilities of the community team and what it can offer to everyone within it. It is my sincere hope to one day offer what we have committed to offering our Academy team, and the Master’s Division of the Community team to every other level of the community team. Right now that is not possible, but we think that eventually it may be. If you have any skills, experience, knowledge, or even just time to offer and want to get involved, please let us know. More Details on how you can help may be found below in the “How To Join and Get Involved” sections. 1. The Introduction found above. 2. The Mission and Vision statement found above. 3. An Overview & Outline of the Community Team & each Division 4. Details on each Division 5. How the Community team ties into the Academy team 6. How to Apply 7. Important Dates 8. How to get involved as Staff We sincerely thank you for your interest and look forward to hearing from you! This is an awesome initiative, both cool for what it is giving back, but also potentially in terms of the structure it will put in place
|
Thank you for this opportunity, Clarity Gaming.

I really like everything that Clarity's been doing. You've made a fan out of me. Keep it up!
|
Wow, this is such a cool idea. Clarity is really taking it to the next level.
|
I'm thinking about this. I don't play too much except with friends, but this would be a great way to get back into it. I'll see what is more popular at my college and do that. This is a great initiative and only furthers my love for Clarity haha, seriously, you guys are the best grassroots team I've ever seen.
|
Wow, thanks so much for all of the awesome feedback and support everyone! Validates all of the time we have been putting in tenfold!
We'll keep on keepin' on as long as you'll have us!
***Quick Note: To anyone who has applied: Expect acceptance emails and a response sometime later this weekend. We're still wrapping up some content to go out in the next few days. Once Sunday hits I'll be focusing all of my energy back into the community team and getting everything underway.
Cheers~

I'm interested, but I'm from Europe and play almost exclusively on EU. Would I be required to play on NA? If I applied for masters division, would i need to be in master on NA? Is there/will there be an EU division of the community team?

Good question! I apologize for not answering this more directly. As of right now the Academy team is only for players in NA. It is our hope to expand to EU at some point, but we just don't have the resources right now to take on another region. I will follow up with your email sometime this weekend and give you some more details.
As for the the community team - You are more than welcome to join on at this time. But the Front Runner's group will not be open to players outside of the NA Region, as that is a gateway into our NA Academy. You're more than welcome to join the NA community from any region, but the majority of players there will be from NA. So the point would be to play with them on NA.
Again, it is our hope to expand to EU at some point with both an Academy team and a community team. However we need more funding and more importantly a larger staff to organize all of that. Sorry!

Yes, of course! There is absolutely -NOTHING- binding about the community team. You can play for another team or clan while you're in the community team, even the front runner's group. You can skip out on tournaments all you like, there is no obligation.
If however you are no-showing tournaments time and time again you will likely be removed from the group for a period if not permanently. But the community team and the Master's Division/Front Runner's group really is one of those "the more you put into it, the more you get out of it" type of a situation.
Thanks for the questions and all of the awesome feedback everyone! It really is quite inspiring to see it.

Question for you guys: is there any overlap between different groups? If a was a plat player who was serious about improving, could I also be in the general community to play customs and teams if I am in the mood for those? Or do I just apply for one and maybe participate through in game chat and forums of the others? I just hope that players who want both to improve but also want to have fun don't have to choose one or the other to be in the community.
Anyways, if I had a computer that could play SC2 right now I would be all over this. It is always great to have a strong community, not just for the people in it, but also for your professional/academy teams to have a dedicated fan base. If I had any advise, try to include your professional and academy players in the community. Of course they have to practice, but maybe have them spend an hour coaching as a price for community events, or do in-house clan wars or team events where the pros play against the community. That was there is something truly unique and special about the community and it will build the fan base for the pros. You would be surprised how many people in the community would watch clan wars/tournaments where they could see the players that helped coach them, or played against in a showmatch, or eveen just had a fun conversation with.
Good luck!

Yes, there is overlap. That is why there is the "general community division," for everyone within the community team to participate if they please.
We have plans to get the academy and pro team involved down the line. It won't happen right away but we have several options to bridge interaction. For right now, the Academy is most closely involved with the Master's Division.
Thanks for all the input!

Love you guys~ Just got my email! EDIT: Also, do the masters division players get any cool clan tag in front of our names or anything? :p

Well, we do take players for the community team from all regions! But it's only worth it if you are able and enjoy playing on the NA region. If you already have an active team on EU or whatever your home region may be, then there isn't much point. Eventually we plan to expand both the community team and the Academy into EU. But first we need sponsors!

Thanks! I like to think we're "not the team we deserve, but the team we need," but that's just me No bias here or anything. And yes, we will!

Yes! There will be a clan for the Master's Division. [CGco] after the [CGac] for the Academy and [CG] of the Pro Team!

I'm diamond right now, and this just majorly made me want to get into masters. Clarity, u guys never cease to amaze me. I've already send in my application and added u on Skype.
Will there be a group or clan for the non masters ppl. That would make finding ppl to practice with really easy.

That is great to hear! Yes, the idea is to have the same structure that the Academy and Master's Division receives flow all the way down through the other divisions. Everything will come in time. We have had 6 people apply for staff positions which is a great start. The next step is bringing them up to speed. Then we will move forward on the little things like clan group tags and all that.

Yes, there will be further instruction sometime next week. We have to bring new staff up to speed and get everything else underway (forums up and running on our website, clan/public group, etc) and then we'll have more details out. Expect them by Thursday of next week (the 23rd).

I just figured out why I hadn't received one back. In the Google Document application, it says "Please copy and paste this application and submit it IN THE BODY OF THE EMAIL to the following email: claritycommunityteam@gmail.com"
But the hyperlink on that email actually goes to claritycommunity@gmail.com, so when I clicked on that it sent it to the wrong email. Sending to the proper email address now.

Well, it's not ONLY for the Americas. It is just based out of the Americas. Anyone can participate in the community team on any level from anywhere globally. They will just have to do so by playing on the NA region on battle.net if they want to interact outside of the Skype and Forum Chats.

Yes, please message myself if you've applied for the Master's Division. OR Message the "Clarity Community" Skype account if you're applied for any other division of the Community Team once we accept your invite on that account. It is a shared account, so we don't idle it all the time.

Yes, we have. Going to be slowing down next week after we make these last 2 big announcements public. Then we'll be focusing our time entirely on locking in sponsors and working with the teams and players we have now. Can't wait for both to happen because these last two announcements have been in the works for a while now.
Thanks for all the continued support and awesome responses everyone!
Cheers~

Very ambitious, good luck to you.
I can see it failing though
Also, it is basically a clan recruitment thread only attached to a pro team, i guess that gets you the by on "Closing this go here <insert link" from TL staff lol.

I'm sorry if you see this as somehow negative. We are simply trying to promote community involvement with a pro team. I'm surprised that someone with as many posts as you would be negative about such an effort.
Thanks for the good luck wishes though! We'll certainly keep on keeping on. We already have 8 staff applicants so I think we'll keep things moving along quite smoothly.

I agree with Winter. This i think can only bring good stuff. I dont think it will cost very much, if at all to run the community team. But, it will allow them to foster even more talent, and get more in touch with the community. after this, they said they have two big anouncements, then working on sponsorships. This is something new, that they are bringing to the community. That should help with getting more companies to sponsor them.

Yes, and thank you.
A quick Note: I have been told my response may come off as "snooty" regarding the reference of Capped's post count. The only reason I cited that is because that post count tells me that he is active in this community. And it is surprising to see such a (seemingly negative, or partially negative) reaction from an active member of the very community we're trying to support and promote.
Anyway. I'm quite confident the Community is here to stay and only grow from here. We are already nearing 150 members total. And it's only been a week or so since we announced. We have plenty of people committed to staff positions which should allow us to get every division of the Community Team up to par with the Master's Division. If that can happen in the first month I think we'll be in a very good place to continue to grow steadily and sustainably.

Together, we can all climb that ladder. (pun intended)

Hey fellow Clarity Community Team members, I'm assembling a team for the Chobo Team League. The league is Bronze through Diamond and plays a weekly BO7, with Bronze facing Bronze, Silver facing Silver, and so on.
We're looking for Bronze, Silver and Gold players of all races who are interested in playing. We could also use a Diamond Zerg. You wouldn't have to play every week so it's not a massive commitment.
If you're interested, please send me a PM with your Bnet ID (and Character Code #), Race, League, and preferably your name on Skype if you are part of the Clarity Community Skype groups. If you have any other questions, I'm pretty active in the General Division Skype group, or just ask via PM.
Thanks everyone!
