while they are similar in some way, Idra is a lot more likeable than Naniwa though imo.

What?

In the one corner we have a misunderstood genius who follows his real passion, who is always hard on himself and practices like a beast. Naniwa behaves like a jerk sometimes, true enough, but he faces zoo much.adversity that this is to be expected.

On the other hand we have the Willy Loman of Starcraft: a hasbeen with barely any remaining hair whose former glory, real and imagined, keeps him delusional about his own ability, disrespecting better men. The only difference: Willy has a wife.

Obviously, I'm being overly dramatic. Every smart guy is a genius as much as any notion that kind of makes sense is brilliant.

Kafka's post has truth in it. Naniwa is actually really intelligent in SC2. His decision making is really impressive, but for some reason, he chose to play Protoss (the more random race!). Most people don't notice the subtle things Naniwa does in his play. Similar subtleties can be found in the play of Innovation and a few other intelligent Koreans. Naniwa is a troll, but he is a smart player.

Idra is smart too, but I wouldn't say he is up to par in decision making and thought. Yeah, I agree (Post below...) Schelim. When Idra is in a good mood, he can be a really great guy. Though, that's really a rare occasion. But I don't think Naniwa has the same following Idra does and I also do not think Naniwa is very concerned with his image. The only image he wants people to see from him is "a skilled player".

he must be VERY misunderstood. no offense to Naniwa, but 'genius' is not the first i would've thought of (neither for Idra though).

imo if you can't tell that Idra's social skills - when he wants to be social - are much better than those of Naniwa... i don't even know how to end this sentence. Idra also is much better at expressing his opinion on many different topics (again, when he's trying... i'm not saying Greg is an angel), which admittedly could be at least partially attributed to the fact that English is not Naniwa's first language. And i think Idra often makes very good points when he's not talking about balance, and sometimes even when he is. What good points are is a matter of opinion, of course.

we can agree to disagree as there are no stone cold facts here, i'm just saying i personally like Idra a lot more for the above-mentioned reasons. This has absolutely nothing to do with their skills as players, where Naniwa is clearly superior.

Rumour mill suggests that Last and Rain are the two seeds. No confirmation on Last as far as I know.

There's no reason for him to get one when compared to many other Koreans and even foreigners.

kafkaesque's post was absolutely right and made me crack up too.

and it's true, naniwa is one of the guys with the best decision making in the game, he's very smart - i think protoss design is limiting him from his true potential a lot, so I'm here hoping that hopefully HOTS can work out for him a bit better than WoL.

unless your arguing that Naniwa is the best protoss in the world its not the race holding him back

Ehh, that applies more towards Idra here. But, they really are pretty similar, excluding the fact that Naniwa has performed better in SC2 than Idra. Naniwa is still quite good though, having an impressive result in November, 2012 (MLG Fall). Sorry I missed your humor though, I think it had to do with your grammar. Jokes are easier to see when they have proper grammar.

@above post...
I actually do believe Protoss does limit him. I believe Terran to be a much more appropriate race for Naniwa's playstyle. Protoss generally revolves around large commitments, both in unit cost (their units cost more per supply than others) and in general gameplay. Parting does tons of all-ins, which CAN reflect decision making, but often rely on either the opponent messing up/cutting a corner or just blind-countering.
Obviously, it would take a long time for him to switch and he's already quite comfortable as Protoss, so him switching is very unlikely.

While I believe that Acer is the most likely destination for Naniwa, I wouldn't be overly surprised to see him join Fnatic, Dignitas, or Liquid.
Fnatic seems unlikely just because they recently stated they were cutting focus on Korea, then parted ways with Oz and Alive. Even though Sase joined Fnatic it just seems like signing Nani would be too contrary to their goals.
Dignitas is actually one of the more likely choices I think. Dignitas has the money, history, and willingness to send him to Korea and invest in him. They were one of the squads he never seemed to have trouble with, and signing Nani might signal the beginning of the reconstruction of their SC2 squad.
I agree with the posters who say that Liquid doesn't seem like a realistic destination, but I think there is more to that situation. Nani has had stretches where he has been able to keep the antics under wraps, and a firm, respectful hand like Nazgul might be great for Naniwa. I would point out that Liquid was in the running to sign Idra when he was a free agent, and they did sign Zenio and Tyler, both of whom were no strangers to outbursts and periods of questionable behavior. Liquid is also in Korea already so the going over the pond makes sense, though I'm not sure Liquid has the financial ability to sign him.

Liquid and EG are out, we already know both were interested in the apst but arent any more, plus i doubt either of them is willing to use the budget for a foreigner at this point

imo most likely its going to be a smaller team that wants Naniwa for his name more then anything (good publicity)

Nth team for dota 2 = swedish

Neither sponsor is confirmed. Perhaps it's the same one?
