MKP should play every single match for his team, which I think is significantly undervalued at 2. Ideally, I would like to have chosen LG-IM due to both their showing in the preseason, and their players' recent successes. Life is obviously a desired pick, but for the same reason I chose Prime over LG-IM (cost), he's simply too much to make the rest of the team work. As a sort of compromise, I decided to choose a bunch of LG-IM players, mainly because of their ability to pick up points while not playing but winning and still having the opportunity to play. I think I'll likely trade Ruin after this week, lightening the LG-IM load, but hopefully his value will go up after a win over Lucky and I'll be able to get something from it (this is a gamble). Mvp looks fantastic, and will likely come out as ace, but this is LG-IM, so who has a clue? Nestea is thrown in, not because he's Nestea, but because he's a 3 point player on LG-IM. Byul is also an LG-IM and has been talked up by a bunch of people in the Korean scene. Again, LG-IM.
Maru, Genius, and San also looked good in the beta and in the preseason, and not much having been heard of them since makes their selections risky. I do, however, think they, will play nearly every match for their teams (with Creator, Byun, and MKP and viOLet and probably Supernova and Symbol respectively). Also, say what you will about balance, they don't play Zerg.
Just edited my anti team when I noticed Sting was at 4 cost. I have no clue how that guy wins, as I notice him supply blocked more than any other pro around. He still wins against foreigners at IEMs, but I don't think he's going to be able to stand up against top Koreans in the GSTL. SortOf goes hand in hand with him, as I think NSH will finish last and due to the partnership, neither is guaranteed to even appear all the time. Although I like Ryung, I have a hunch that AA will bomb out. Ryung will likely play every match, but the other 6's are so non-palatable to me, that Ryung has to be the guy.
Overall thoughts?
EDIT: Subject to change, depending if I come to my senses about AA or notice any easy swap outs etc.
EDIT 2: Have since swapped Maru for Tear. Tear will always play on the two time defending champs (albeit in WoL) and is always said to be their top in house guy. He's usually also their middle player of their three headed monster.
DongRaeGu because I have too. Genius and Ruin because they looked good in Pre-season. Keen and Madbull because theyre badasses. TheBest and JKS because I needed someone. Monster because he's going to have an amazing start to HotS. MVP because I have too.
For Anti-Team. I chose IM players because theyre roster is so deep it might hurt some individuals and Mvp never seems to play. Sting is still on NSH?
I was going to just stack my main team with Prime and IM players but stopped myself because all kill format that many might not get to play as much so I switched in a couple different players, but as you can see the core is still Prime and IM players. MC, MVP and Yoda have all looked very solid in HotS at IEM and MLG. I took lucky because he is starting against Ruin and I don't think Ruin will win... Depending on how he looks during the games I may drop him quickly. Zero is the oblig 1 point maybe ST can win some matches and get me points pick.
Team is Prime I think they are extremely under rated at two points and quite the steal really.
My anti team, I don't think Scarlett is nearly as good as the hype and is way over rated at 4 points. Tear and Heart seemed to be the weakest players at their point value imo Though they could come back to kill me we shall see!
DongRaeGu because I have too. Genius and Ruin because they looked good in Pre-season. Keen and Madbull because theyre badasses. TheBest and JKS because I needed someone. Monster because he's going to have an amazing start to HotS. MVP because I have too.

MVP has been looking pretty damn dominant in HotS from what I've seen! You might regret that anti team pick. Don't forget even if they don't play.. if the team wins they still points! That will be -2 points every time IM wins at bare minimum.
Bomber, Supernova, Kangho, Genius, Yoda, and Lucky are all fairly strong mainstays on each of their respective teams and I see a lot of playtime for them. BSGY&L are all either the best or second-best players of that race on their respective teams, and while Kangho does have to compete with Nestea and ByuL, I don't see Nestea getting sent out a lot and ByuL is a bit of a mystery.
Tible I picked because he showed some promise in preseason, and seeing as how NSHoseo doesn't have a vast pool of players, he will probably be sent out a lot. TREME and Brain are the only two notable protoss players on ST at the moment (CURSE YOU SQUIRTING), and TREME has been the better of the two, so no-brainer there. Startale the team still has at least 3 gosu players (Curious, Life, Bomber) and with the all-kill format Life can do work ^^.
The only player on my anti that i'm nervous about is MMA. He's a bit of a mystery, but JKS/TheBest are probably going to be seen exactly 0 times in the booth. With Leenock&Lucky, as well as sC/Gumiho, those two have some stiff competition for lineup space. While TheBest could theoretically be sent out (as he's the only other notable terran on FXO), his sharp decline in results after many years ago makes me feel like he's a safe choice to never win.

I have no idea what I'm doing hence my anti-team.
Just a tip, you will probably want to swap any of those players out for a someone who will not play much or is a very low cost. You're allowed to make your combined anti-team total as low as 13, so don't be afraid to drop one of those monsters for someone not nearly as good.
The biggest factor that might make or break my fantasy team is David Kim. Basing my team on perceived game imbalances, I made my main team almost completely Terran, and my anti-team completely Zerg. Don't fail me Blizzard balance team.
DongRaeGu because I have too. Genius and Ruin because they looked good in Pre-season. Keen and Madbull because theyre badasses. TheBest and JKS because I needed someone. Monster because he's going to have an amazing start to HotS. MVP because I have too.

Oh shit youre right. But still even when Mvp looked good in WoL, he didn't always in GSTL.

Lol yeah, make sure you understand how anti-team works, as you only need 13.
Had a harder time with the main team trying to get what I wanted, but I feel that I got mostly what I wanted. Yes, I went full fanboy with Life but I feel like he is a valuable asset to the team. Then I feel comfortable with Bomber, Squirtle, Sleep, and Noblesse because they have done well in the past from what I have seen of them. The only two one the team I feel questionable about are Lucky and Golden (though mainly Golden because I haven't seen him play in forever.)
Then I choose my team as StarTale as I feel like they have a good team that can contend in the GSTL (or so I believe) especially with Life, Bomber, and Curious. On that front I guess I will see how well I do.
As for the anti-team I have chosen Heart and InCa because I feel like they rely on some cheesier builds to get wins which I think will end up back firing on them in the end. Then I went ambiguous with MKP because I felt like it would make things more interesting for me (hopefully it doesn't come back and haunt me.)
Inca is a sniper Jjakji is an incredible player Maru is an incredible player Monster is the best Zerg from ESF atm (other than Life obv) Ruin is an incredible player Scarlett has insane mechanics Shine is a sniper Treme is an incredible player Startale has Bomber and Life (good enough for me)
Nestea is the most overrated player ever TheBest is just...terrible I have no idea why I chose Violet
I found it really hard to settle on a final team in a way. Jjakji was always going to be my captain I think he will dominate this season of GSTL. Byun is solid and so is Losira in terms of team league, Losira getting a good few all kills in his day and Byun always being good for at least 1 or 2 wins when he is sent out. I felt Lucky could be a strong pick if memory serves me right. Sparta looked pretty good in WoL so I guess he can do well in HoTS. Miya can make or break the team for me, I know he will get games but if he isn't in good condition im pretty fucked. All of those were pretty cheap so then actually I found myself with points left over in the end so had enough for Squirtle.
As for my anti team Genius ive never been a fan of and has fallen off as of late. Tear isn't really amazing. MMA is one that could fuck me over too, he is going to be the ace of AX/Acer probably and terran is strong in HoTS so it could come back to bite me in the ass. Only time will tell but hopefully it will turn out well.
Jjakji will play every match and get multiple streaks. I feel good about Alicia and Axiom in general (fanboy mode activated!). Life because Life. Ragnarok was easily the mvp of the pre-season. Dream and Bang for talented Terrans. SSanaEE looked good as well. And of course MANZENITH!
Edit: Just changed pretty much my whole team. Can't make up my mind. ;;

For team: - Ragnarok is probably the best you can get for his price imo. All the signs are there. He's put out impressive games, he's been high up on the ladder throughout the beta and still currently is. He's 16, and he's been talked about behind the scenes as being a beast. This sounds a lot like another Zerg I heard about before he broke out, what was his name again? Oh yeah, Life. He's also an upcomer, and Hirai (IM coach) loves sending those in regularly.
- I never liked Monster in WoL but looks pretty damn good in HotS and his teammates say he's a beast and comes up with a lot of Zerg builds. Not to mention he's doing great on the ladder.
- Seed only 4 points? Fuck yeah! Hurricane, whom I presume to be Tear is #4 on ladder right now and Tear had his gosu moments in team leagues during WoL. Plus FXO is pretty small so they'll have to send him. Ruin is a bit of a long shot. He only played once, but he put out a hell of a debut taking out MMA. Again, he's new and an upcomer so Hirai will send him out regularly.
- Byul is another steal at 4 points and has shown great potential in the past, especially in team league. Another player likely to come out regularly for IM.
- Much like with Monster I'm trying to get people other than IM on my team and Maru is a great choice. Madbull is simply the best for his price at 1 point and he's bound to come out since NSH barely has any players xD
- Picked IM cause they're going to kill this season, duh :p
For anti:
- Kills me to say it, but Nestea immediately jumped to the top of my list when I thought of an anti team. He almost never comes out and probably is even less likely now that IM is so stacked, he has only won 1 game ever in GSTL, and hasn't looked good in the individual league lately. However, he is doing good on the ladder right now...
- Scarlett is good, but I'm not entirely sold on her just yet to be a regular performer for AxiomAcer.
- Curious because I needed 6 points and he was probably one of the last players to fully switch over to HotS.
You know what I think of Avenge. Bang is a ladder beast, he's got to play eventually. GuMi was one of my last picks. It was between him and Bomber. Sorry Bomber! Life Pet is a badass nerd killer. Plus if he's still good at ZvT, he could be a useful sniper. SuperNova because I needed a good terran early in my picks. TREME to boss it up this season. Take my word for it.
startale (yeah i have too many ST players)
Brave sort of disappeared. I'm not sure how well Symbol will adapt to HotS, being one of the latest Zergs to make the switch. TerrOr failed to impress.
Anti Team 4 JKS 5 NAKSEO(Monster) 4 Seed Just wondering, is it a bad idea to have NesTea on my main or do ppl think he'll get back to where he was soon? Seed I was kinda anxious about putting him on my anti but ever since he won GSL he hasn't had very good results. Hopefully he doesn't screw me over.

I love Nestea, but even when he was on the top of the world he very rarely played in team leagues and he has only won 1 game ever in the history of the GSTL...though that win got IM their one and only championship. I mean he's on my anti and I'm a diehard fan. :/
I'm not being fair here. It was a toss-up between Startale and IncredibleMiracle for the team to win it all, but Life, Squirtle, MMA and Seed were the main priorities. I went cheap with the anti-team because I know NesTea usually won't get sent out, and MC doesn't really do that well in team leagues. Killer was a fairly easy and juicy pick.

He has more than one. Remember that one where Artosis was like what if he punches Tails and the memory of tails is erased. yea he lost that game.
I feel like there's not much to explain about the main team - obvious strong picks. Only Suhosin(Line) may not be that popular in general, but I'm an old fan, and he usually exceeds expectations; I'm pretty sure he's undervalued at 2. Anti-team, Eve is clear. Symbol - I just have some hunch about him not doing so well. He used to gravitate close to "the best zerg in the world", and is still in the very top, but I consider him uninspired as of late. Heart is a terran on the same team as MMA and Ryung, so yeah, I hope he doesn't get played all that much in Bo7 all-kill format matches.
I didn't want to get any of the expensive players because I don't think they are worth it (life withstanding, but everyone will take him so I have to take some risk). MVP Nestea and Squirtle are all easy choices. They will play a lot for their team and they will be doing a lot of winning. MMA will also be winning quite a few matches (I feel like the son of boxer will have a field day with the new medivac and T playstyle). Maru is really good, and Noblesse and Sleep are my two gambles. All the good teams are 4 points except IM which is 5. I feel like for one more point, you will be getting a much percentage.
Anti:
Azubu players that won't get as much playtime (San's time has been long gone, and SuperNova I'm banking on him not doing well). JKS probably won't get to play that much.
First thing I thought of when I saw the pool of players to choose from was holy crap, IM is stacked. Since IM is such a deep team, I decided to avoid most of their players since the IM coach said that he likes to use his up and coming players more in the team format so they can get more experience in the booth. I picked Ragnarok and Byul over Yonghwa and Seed because of this and I think they'll be the IM duo that plays more this season.
Maru, Bomber (picked Bomber over Curious because Terran lol ^^), Creator, Monster are players I picked that I think will get the bulk of the playing time on their teams and also because they're on good teams (those extra pts). It's the reason I didn't pick players like Gumiho, DRG, MKP since they're the aces on their teams, and why I didn't pick players like Jjakji, MMA, Ryung since their teams are pretty shallow and I don't think their teams will do that well.
Picked Prime for my team since they're the best low-priced team.
Lastly, Lucky is one of the sleeper picks IMO at only 3 pts after we saw how good he was at WoL, and Supreme was picked for FXO pts and his cool name lol ^^
For anti, I picked:
1. sC - He's probably not gonna be the sC that we remember, at least, not yet. Don't know what kind of shape he's in. 2. Swagger or Killer lol - Terrible name change. He's a really cool dude, but he won't get as much playing time since he's still coach right? and also his Up and Down results T_T 3. Tear(Hurricane) - Pretty cool name change. Taking a risk here, picked him over MMA since MMA's gonna have to play a ton since Axiom is a small team.
Just wondering, is it a bad idea to have NesTea on my main or do ppl think he'll get back to where he was soon? Seed I was kinda anxious about putting him on my anti but ever since he won GSL he hasn't had very good results. Hopefully he doesn't screw me over.

He is only 3 points though. Is it really worth it considering how good he can be. Not to mention this is HOTS and he is the best when it comes to Zerg innovation (next to Stephano).
Even if Nestea is back to god-tier in HotS(hopefully so) I just never saw team leagues as his cup of tea. He's one of the least likely players to see some action in the booth. For 3 points I'd take Lucky or Miya any day. At least they're actually likely to represent.
That's suicidal, bo7 all kill format It's better to spread out your picks between all the good teams instead of going all in on one.
Well duh.
But if IM win I get like +7 each time, and +1 for everyone who appears, and +2 for a win. I'm guessing I'll get at least 2 appearances and 2 wins out of this bunch so I'm predicting +13 minimum if IM go 4-3 each time. This is a stupid idea but hey, I like my team name.
I didn't want to get any of the expensive players because I don't think they are worth it (life withstanding, but everyone will take him so I have to take some risk). WHAT, IM is stacked and rarely sends their big guns. They have so much depth and the coach likes to send their B-teamers
My first GSTL Fanstasy team! I decided to just go for broke and pick all my favourite players. MC, long time favourite will be my captain due to experience/success. The power-houses are Life, Nestea and SupeNova. I'm hoping I can rely on them when things get tough. I decided to put MarineKing as an anti because I think he is done for now. MVP is also there because I think his medical issues are really preventing him from playing up his normal calibre. Also Seed in there too because I am resentful of how he beat MC in that GSL finals >_<
Taking Jjakji early on as he's guaranteed to be playing on every match. Hipster pick on TOP, and pretty much banking on IM and Axiom-Acer winning the opening matches, with IM hopefully going strong throughout the GSTL. Aphrodite for the 1 point player.
ByuN and Tassadar, well they've fallen off and I don't think Killer will be fielded.
Main team: Really betting on Life and Gumiho to get points for me. Hack and BBoongBboong will hopefully pick up some wins as well. The rest of the players... meh.
Anti team: You can always count on MarineKing and MMA to lose games that they should have been able to win. As for squirtle... that one is risky but he hasn't been posting great results in individual leagues lately.
Main team: Picked a lot of undervalued players, expecting LosirA, Dream, Violet and Seed to do really well. Vines, First, Ganzi and Golden as depth to acquire a few wins here with the potential to do much more than that.
Easy pick is IM here, but I have a good feeling about Startale. Lots of depth and players like Life and Bomber who can all-kill if need be.
Anti team: Not confident in an MMA comeback from what i've seen and heard. Alicia has never been a sexy player in my opinion so he's an easy choice at 4 points. SortOf? Nuff said. Foreign zerg in a Korean tournament. I think he's skilled but not good enough to be worth 3 points nor good enough to score more than a couple wins over the season. Will get playing time for the weak NSHS but I doubt it works out.
Pretty self-explanatory. The variance on the shim-sham is well above 0.046 when Seed switches up to sync several legions unto the left. Alpha squad (or "Anti-Team" in lay persons terminology) is carefully orientated counter to the upper vector following the initial interest rate on the jiggy. Futhermore, nomenclature used in the overall referencials is derived from the little known yet ritualistically observed talkie. I'd wager four pence on a roundabout before turning a goat the sky.
While in the ProLeague I took comfort in choosing the best team of the league and then kinda just sorting players from their roster, I had to go else hear since I don't really have a fav team. NSH was always the underdog so I'll happily root for them.
I tried to balance it out evenly, but it was also much easier to do so as in the SPL because noone had that starpower here.
I think TOP will be really good, and ByuL was a teamleague monster the last time around so he definitely seemed like a good pick. The same can be said about GuMi. I don't really know how Curious fared in team leagues in the past but I like him, and his style. KeeN is really good nowadays, and I defintely thought both he and Noblesse were always a bit underrated (like poor asdfOu ;_;7).
Squirtle, NesTea, and Mvp represent the starpower I'm not sure how much they are going to play but I am confident that they will have a good win percentage nonetheless.
The Anti- seemed much easier too, San and Alicia are players I haven't heard about in a year (OSL / scandal) also I hate the new holder of Tear, so there's that.
Hoping IM does as well as they did during the pre-season. Of course Mvp is the captain... And of course GuMiho will win things. Saw Madbull lose 1 game to MC, but hey hes worth 1 pont =o
Girls power!!! Also I have Life, MVP, Bomber and MVP. They're pretty much all the best players that you could hope for an AK format so 2 girls on my team aren't big deal.
I can see gumiho and squirtle carrying their teams, sC will take a few games off people and Ryung is highly reliable because he will be played every time Axiom plays. Byun has been so off and on, Scarlett will probably never play and Killer is still inconsistent and coaching(as far as i know), I doubt he will be able to pull a Choya.
Edit: Forgot to put my little writeup in here too.
Picked a bunch of different aces because it's allkill. (Fantasy proleague format is so boring, just pick a team you like and crapshoot for top fifty.) I also got a lot of different one point players from different teams to get the team bonus points. Bomber, Jjakji, Life, MC, and Nestea on my team? Seems good. Antiteam is MMA because he's been slumping, and imo overrated, SortOf because I don't expect him to do well, and Swagger because he's coaching, and mostly likely won't be playing due to their roster depth.
Well my first ever fantasy team for GSTL or any league actually. My friend got me into this so I thought why not?
I'm going for a more even distribution of races and players I think that will do well in HOTS. I'm still unsure about my anti team but I'll go with it.
Main Team: My plan this time is to go top-heavy like there's no tomorrow, hoping that these guys will score tons of kills. Leenock is my captain because he's my favorite ESF player. Then there's Life, Byun and Bomber, who have all been performing well lately to back Leenock up. Slightly worried that Life and Bomber will take points from each other, but found no other heavy-hitter for the same points that I liked. Would have liked to squeeze MVP in there, but this was never his format. Was also very close to choosing Squirtle, but I never liked IM in team leagues either, so I went for the risky choice in Byun. I've always liked him, but he can awfully inconsistent. Was also debating picking Jjakji since he's been performing very well recently, but figured NsHoseo would fall out quickly, since they pretty much only have Jjakji.
Other than that, I chose cheap 1-pointers from the teams I think will win a lot - ST, FXO and Azubu - and figured I might as well pick the female players for the heck of it. The only one of them that I think might see some play is Supreme, but they should still give me a few points when their teams win. Chose FXO as they always win GSTL despite having pretty much only Gumiho and Leenock.
In short: hoping for lots of all-kills from my stars.
Anti: This was easy. Picked players I've never liked. MMA was only good when he had Coach... Ryu? Well, you know the guy that went to Woongjin Stars and got them to the top of the standings in SPL.
I definitely feel like Jjakji will do very well, him being good and forsure to play every game for struggling NSH Seed is a boss(along with all of IM loool) Ragnarok is like a nerdballer up and comer Tear always does well in teamleagues Tails almost always gets like at least a kill everytime he plays Crank was only 3 and i feel like hes gonna win a decent amount of games(plus hes cool heh) Supernova looked good in preseaon and i feel like hes a good pick at a solid 5, plus azubu looks good in general. lastly i needed a 2 and classic seems like the best choice, as Prime has so little players its likely he will play as a sniper. really hard for me to decide between AA and PRIME but i eventually went with AA....not really sure why tbh
Anti: Curious i feel like is the least likely to play a lot//kill a lot out of the 5/6 people. sC i doubt will play or win much if he does SortOf same as sC^
1st participation in Fantasy league. A Terran core with Jjakji and Yoda, who will probably play a lot and seem ready on HotS. They're supported by Top, who could be something this season and Sparta, who will probably be a regular 1st or 2nd player for ST. I added two strong zergs : Ragnarok (could be the next big GSTL guy) and violet (for obvious reasons like constantly being one of the best Z in the world). Lure is my Protoss caution and Darkstar is my "1-point" caution.
If Life and Bomber keep this level, Startale sounds like a pretty sure bet. At least to finish high in rankings.
The only risk i took on my anti-team is MMA. I don't know what is his current level, so kind of a gambling here. The 2 lasts seemed pretty obvious to me, JKS because JKS, and SortOf because he's a zerg foreigner on HotS.
"But Sareth, a full Terran Anti-team? Terran imba again. You're nuts!" Well, maybe, but the players just don't impress me. MMA had his heigh, but since like a year, he always dissapointed. TheBest is worth 3 points. Why? I don't know. Compared with the other players who are worth 3 points he feels overpriced. sC. Don't get me wrong, he is one of my favourite players, and i will root for him every game he plays, but his injury seems to hold him back so much Q.Q
It was either this or the basic powerhouse FXO trio, but I feel they're a bit too expensive for HotS, and puts you too all-in on one team. Gumiho is the most valuable one right now, but I can't fit both him and Life, and other players on FXO might simply perform well enough that Gumiho won't even come out to play at times. Jjakji is another very strong pick and is doing very well right now and will certainly play every match for NSHS barring some kind of miracle, but I'm still preferring Life and I'm not willing to give up my mid-tier players. I will never touch IM, ever, because of their horrible coach. He's way too random to rely on for picking the right players.
This way I'm split between ST and MVP, the other two top teams. The basic thought is that ST is almost unbeatable because of Life, and the team isn't quite such an all-star powerhouse anymore now that Parting and Squirtle has left, so Life should get to play more often. I also picked Hack who I believe will almost always get playtime and whose playstyle benefits greatly from op-vacs. Brain added as ST 1-pointer for team wins.
Monster did great in HSL recently and is the go-to build order inventor for all MVP zergs, a talent highly in demand for zergs this season, definitely worth 5 points. Dream is the best terran on MVP and terran is in high demand, he will get lots of playtime, a steal at 4 points. Bang as MVP 1-pointer for team wins.
Maru loves bio/medivac and I think he's the second best terran on Prime right now, a team who will need him often since none of their players are very reliable.
Lucky is the most reliable 3-pointer or lower, plays often and is not afraid to all-in if needed.
Anti team wise, I was first going with Curious, Sortof and Scarlett, but realized I definitely don't want a Startale player on my anti-team. Everyone else at 6 or higher was definitely a worse choice so I downgraded and settled for Byun rather than Supernova (strong in HotS, will play often) or Tear (#1 FXO protoss, FXO team wins), and upgraded Sortof to San. Still not touching IM even for anti team.
Mostly self-explanatory. I love Life, Bomber and StarTale in general, and I'm convinced that their one-two punch Bomber and Life will win them at least a bunch of games this season; so I went for a few cheap ST players. Other than the ST players, Gumiho is known for his hyper-aggressive style and so the new medivacs will doubtlessly suit him very well - he's carried his team through 2 GSTL finals on the back of aggression alone, and with aggression now even better I find it hard to believe he won't be winning a lot. Noblesse as the last pick because he's Terran and has a cool ID.
While I don't doubt that Scarlett and SortOf are good, I don't think they're good enough to obtain any more than one win per time they're sent out. Naniwa and Sase were on StarTaleQ for a long time without ever being sent out, so it's not unrealistic to think that at least SortOf won't see too much playing time despite NSH's somewhat weak roster. As for Sniper, well - he played the turtle style of Zerg very well, but DRG is not dealing well with HotS and Monster is now apparently considered MVP's best Zerg, so I went with the Season 5 champion to complete the all-Zerg anti-team.
Main Team 3 Crank On Axiom, overall good player 4 Dream Cheap but pretty good terran 3 Miya On Axiom, overall good player 6 MMA On Axiom, one of the best terrans, or at least used to be 3 NesTea 3 Points for The God, sure 4 Scarlett (captain) On Axiom, Huge potential 6 YoDa Recently won IEM 5 YongHwa Finished 4th IEM, have always been good 2 AxiomAcer
Main Team 1 Bang random 1 point guy 5 First (captain) Chose First as the captain, I know that IM will play him a lot thanks to his good performance at IEM. 2 Golden Solid Zerg player, I think he will get played a lot. Hopefully scores some points here and there for me. 7 GuMiho FXO Ace imo, he will get points for sure. 6 MC MC is MC..I just hope he gets to play. 4 Mvp I'm too big of a fanboy to not have him in my fantasy team. Will probably disappoint like in every GSTL except the first one. 1 Supreme random 1 point guy. 5 YongHwa One of the best protosses out there at the moment imo, will definitely get gametime. Incredible Miracle - The strongest sc2 team at the moment, I just hope Coach Kang will not pull his usual weird picks..
Anti Team 4 Alicia Never liked Alicia much, but mostly chose him as he was 4 points. 5 NAKSEO(Monster) This might be a bad choice for my anti-team, he might surprise and get kill or two. Hopefully not tho. 4 Swagger(Killer) Never liked Killer, now I like him even less with a stupid name like Swagger...
Main Team 1 Aphrodite - I had one point left, and I already had two of the three girl players :| 4 ByuL - Decent IM player, IM tends to use their B-teamers in GSTL 1 Eve - I think she's serious about being a pro-gamer, and a little under-rated 4 Genius - Generally solid choice 9 Life (captain) - Next Zerg Banjo 6 MMA - Probably the best player on AXA, so likely to get the most playtime 4 Scarlett - Second best player on AXA, and most popular. Guaranteed to at least be sent out a few times. Also I'm a fanboy. 3 Super(Vampire) - Pretty good Zerg 4 [tlpd#teams##sc2-korean]FX Open[/tlpd] - Gumiho.
I think I have the most championships of any anti-team, but IM doesn't send their best players usually, and MVP/Nestea underperform in teamleague pretty badly.
Don't really have a lot of insight to back my picks since HotS just came out, so I just picked my favourite players. However Life and MC happen to be two of them, and both did very well at MLG
Even though MKP is crushing ladder, he got crushed by jjakji 3-0 at MLG, bad enough for him to end up here. NesTea is getting pretty old if I might say so, and come on, IM isn't exactly famous for crushing teams in the GSTL now, are they
Main Team 6 Bomber - I had always liked his playstyle. 6 Creator - Good toss. 3 Ganzi - For me is the terran hope. 4 Genius - solid 2 InCa - Had to cut some points to fit 6 MC (captain) - Bosstoss - `nuf sayin. 3 Shine - Had decent games in the past hope he does it in the feature. 2 Sound - Don`t know too much about him but from statistic pov he will play. 4 StarTale - Pretty solid team
Anti Team 4 Alicia - He is on a down rollercoaster for a while. 7 MarineKing - Tbh I don`t see him adapting well to HotS 2 SalvatioN - Has to pick a 2 point player.
So this is my 1st team ever. I belive toss will dominate althou is a HotS (zerg) expansion with some clever Terran in this (having high hopes from Bomber and Ganzi).
Barbie for captain since I have this thing for 1-point captains. FOKINS got me some points last round, anyway. I probably would have chosen an IM 1-pointer for team points but there weren't any. Team is PRIME since they're pretty cheap, and, well, PRIME.
As you can see, I have a lot of 5-pointers. I think all these guys will definitely play for their team, and are pretty damn solid. SuperNova, Maru and ByuN were great during beta, and Tear is topping the ladder currently. Monster is the best zerg on MVP. Genius and RagnaroK are fairly solid as 4-pointers go I guess? Genius is the main AZUBU protoss option and RagnaroK is IM's zerg, but they may not play every game.
I really wanted to grab Squirtle since he's one of the best protoss, but IM has such a deep Protoss lineup that I don't think he'll play every game. TREME is another good option as ST's best protoss, and I could switch Genius out for him, but I don't think I can put the extra point to much use.
Anti-team should be fairly obvious. MMA lacks Ryu Won (who's winning WJS PL atm), SortOf is a foreigner, and SWAG is quite low on the MVP protoss lineup.
I probably will tank FGSTL but hey, let's see how this goes.
My first non Proleague fantasy and it wasn't until now I realised how little I knew about the majority of the eSF players. YongHwa is going to destroy my anti-team, I just feel it. I'm betting a lot on Axiom and Azubu doing well.
Seem like solid picks even though Bomber is a a poor performer in team league, decided to pick Squirtle as captain over Jjakji because NSH is probably going to get knocked out after the group stage, Inca because the dark shrine is cheaper now
-------- I like Terran and it's a fairly good race ATM so why not pick lots of them!! I probably could've picked SortOf on my Anti team, but i think Killer is just horrible (compared to his peers of course) so I absolutely had to pick him.
A team not intended to win for me, but for my favorite team. What true fanboys do. Ignore the anti-team. I'm only going to trade for other FXO members.
IM is a given as the best team ever. Byul looked great in the preseason, Byun is good, high up on ladder and cheaper than MKP, Hurricane is the best Protoss by far on FXO and great in team leagues, Jjakji is good at HotS and the NSHS ace unless Tassadar kills everyone. Madbull is my captain because he's a steal for a one-pointer, just look at those legs!
Monster crushed face in the HSL and Engine said he's his favourite player, you can't go wrong with that. Pet is filler but I loved him in the KSL on ZeNEX, I hope he's still on the roster and not retired (I thought Suhosin retired, too, dunno why he's pickable). I chose Ruin because he's playing first and at least took a win in the preseason, so he might have a good shot against Lucky.
Anti-team is pretty decent, SortOf is a foreigner, I don't know how he's adapted, but I don't see good chances for foreign Zergs this season. Killer(Swagger) might be the worst 4-point player I've ever seen and is pretty much a steal and MMA is a bit of a gamble, as I don't think he will reach the same heights he once did on SlayerS, a decent opponent should be able to beat him and he seemed the best choice for me out of all the 6-pointers.
My core players will be IM but I will not choose MC, MVP, or Nestea. Since they have so many good players, their coach will rarely send them out, especially early on in the season when he wants to give new players more experience. Yoda, Yonghwa, and First will likely be the aces for IM early on. I pick Yoda and Yonghwa.
Jjakji is the ace for NSHS. Violet is the ace for Azubu (I think he is better at HotS than Symbol. Also, Symbol has to concentrate on Code S). Ganzi has always been a strong Code S Terran, even when he was overseas with Complexity. My last choice 3pt player.
Eve, Miss, and Aphrodite... Startale is the next best team after IM and Azubu is pretty good too. I picked these 1pt players solely based on their teams. Lol
So many people with MMA on their Anti Team O_O. As their Ace Player I'm sure he's guaranteed to win at least one game every time he shows up. I believe in you MMA!
I had to pick a few cheap ones because Life and MMA burned through half my budget ... This is also why I picked Axiom-Acer instead of Startale who will obviously win the whole thing.
Ofc. I choosed not only after performance, but also who I like. (♥ Prime) Prime Block: Maru looked really good so far in HotS. With more refinement over the next weeks, I choose him for one of the very best players in the game by then. Despite his loss to Polt, Creator didn't look bad at MLG either. Might be one of the best Protosses again in some weeks. For only 2 points, Classic is a great deal. He is very skilled and talented and will start to show it more often. Rest: Bomber played absolutely phenomenal at the first day of MLG. I don't know what happened against MC, but he stated later, that he wasn't so well prepared for TvP. He will be for GSTL and he will go on a tear! JKS looked great in pre-season and I wanted some Zergs on my team. A Zerg player willing to go baneling bust at the right time is never a bad choice! Monster, while speaking about Zerg, demolished everyone in the HLS just a few days ago, looking kinda unbeatable. Noblesse is a really talented Terran. It was hard in the late stages of WoL for those talented Terrans to show their skills, but I know that Noblesse has what it takes to be a top player. Last but not least Ruin just showed amazing Protoss play in the pre-season, I want to see more of it! Team Prime - well not really a choice Anti Team: I had to look out not to mix up teams so here we are: I don't expect too much out of Axiom tbh. The team is lacking of deepnes and a top notch player. San - he is good, but he allways falls short in the Teamleague. It's really hard to pick an anti team, because I like those players, but it had to be done
Really cant go past girl power can you, and Hopefully bomber can carry startale on his back and the same with Violet on Azubu, All in All gonna be a sick season of team league
Thoughts: - AcE is very cheap but is more solid than many of the other very cheap players. - I can see Aphrodite occassionally being played as a sniper and I think she might surprise people. Either way its only one point. - Creator is a very good player and I feel his points value is right on. - Noblesse is one of the better terrans available for a reasonable price. - Sniper is probably reliable for at least one kill in any match he plays in. Hence a solid, reliable player to be my Captain. - TAiLS is almost criminally undervalued in this system I feel. - RagnaroK and YongHwa have both proven they can be absolute monsters in the team league with all-kill potential.
- Incredible Miracle is Incredible Miracle. They won the preseason and their lineup has seemed to become increasingly stacked with time. That said I'm still a little uncomfortable with this decision. It was a difficult one.
- Ryung feels overvalued. He's not a particular awful player but I feel he's a good call to boost the points value of my antiteam whilst minimising the negative outlay resulting from it. - SortOf is a foreigner and teamed up with NSH. I can see him being played occassionally but beyond that not much. - Tassadar has both a poor GSTL record and is on NSH. Sorry man but as for SortOf I just can't see it happening.
Main Team 6 Bomber One of my favorite terrans, I think he could do well in gstl 3 Crank filler 2 Golden filler 7 GuMiho Why wouldnt I want this guy in a team league? :D 9 Life (captain) If he plays in team league I think he will win most of his matches 4 Seed Good protoss 2 TOP filler 1 Zero filler 2 [tlpd#teams##sc2-korean]AxiomAcer[/tlpd] AXIOMACER
Anti Team 5 ByuN No real reason why. 4 Scarlett I don't think many foreigners will do well in HotS, and I doubt foreign zergs even more 4 Tassadar I don't even remember this guy
I feel strong with this team. Had to put sC on my anti-team for going to play LoL, he will be in my doghouse for this round. I haven't seen much from Tassadar since like GSTL season 1 WoL, and Maru.. not sure about I feel like he will either be the best player this round, or the worst player, there is no median for this kid. So I'm banking that he will trail off, but I might be wrong.. it's a gamble. With my super strong roster though, my players should be able to carry if Maru does make a strong run.
LGIMSKMC, show us the way o' captain, sally forth, TO VICTORYYYYY!!!
Im confused by trading. If i got it right, i can only trade to a player worth less than my original player, right? But this would mean that trading is bad for the overall value of my team? or can i earn new points anyhow? what am i missing? :D

Players change value over time depending on performance. So a cheap player can get expensive, or an expensive cheaper.

- Tear, finale, Ragnarok and Monster look pretty good in HotS so far - The Best is the best and does okayish in ladder - Sniper has been really good in the last GSTL, but I might change to Yoda - I don't think Nestea and "Swagger" () will get much playtime if any - Medivac Boost might help MMA breaking his slump, but who knows
I really hope Gumi is gonna crush. Could end badly, but you gotta represent. Chose Yonghwa over First because he´s an all-killing machine and looks like Woody Allen.
Noblesse, Tails and Monster have all shown they´re crazy good players when they rise to the occasion, which should be optimal for team leagues.
Bomber is a total stud.
Supreme and Hell are just cheap players from solid teams that won´t see use (I guess...) and give some points from their teams winning (if this works like FPL).
Sting and Killer both showed pretty poor play, with Killer likely remaining benched. Decided for Maru over Ryung/MMA because he still seems shaky and prone to stress.
Okay, so going into this, I had a couple of initial thoughts: I wanted First as my captain for good luck as I run his fanclub, but also he's a reasonably priced teamleague veteran with good HotS experience. It'd have been him or YongHwa I guess, but First has more mojo. Well the entire IM protoss line-up is good, which also makes picking a protoss risky... You might get the least used one. :p
Secondly, Tear/Hurricane is someone I was seriously interested in, and I feel he's a steal at only 5. And, though they are expensive, I also wanted Incredible Miracle as my team, haha. Despite being an IM fanboy, I am trying not to go all-in, for all-kill you want a more balanced team for sure. No IM players are expensive, but a lot are in the middle-range of prices - a reflection of the fact that it's hard to tell exactly which players get sent out, making them a bit of a gamble. This issue will permeate my entire team, as I will be going for a 5 pointer team... No expensive heavy hitters.
Thirdly, I wanted a Prime terran without a doubt. MarineKing was a bit expensive, so went with Byun, who has an insane ladder record. I don't know if Prime will do well, they may not, but Byun will be insurance in case they do, he should be sent out a lot and can be traded away if I need to. Prime has too much to prove for me to invest more in them though, their overall ladder records are good, but that won't neccesarily translate into teamleague results.
Having 2 protoss and a terran, I decided to pick a zerg so my racial balance is in order. Too many WoL zergs are clouding the highest price-range, so I went lower and picked the extremely hyped Ragnarok, filling my quota of IM (2 players and team-pick). 24 points used, and 4 spots left! At this point, it also becomes time to ponder my teams more thoroughly.
FXO will face IM, so I will not pick another player from them yet, even though they're a team who might be a good investment, but I picked the side of IM in that match. So, I look towards MVP vs AXA, and decide I will side with MVP, a strong overall team as well, grabbing a cheap KeeN, who should see a lot of playtime and is already guaranteed to be sent out. I want a second MVP player, so I pick Tails, a player I personally dislike (He all-killed IM >:o ) and consider low in the ranking of MVP players, but he seems to do well in teamleagues...
At this point I have 4 points left to share between 2 players. I decide to continue team coverage with Startale, who should win over NSH. Right now I have Sparta and Avenge, but, I need to check these low point ST players a bit, so will change the team after deliberating a bit...
Anti-team is straightforward, expensive foreigners on teams expected to perform in the middle to bad range, AXA and NSH, so picked Scarlett and SortOf. Both are decent players able to upset a Korean once in a while, and they'd be worth their points too if not for the lack of GSTL experience. Similarily to Proleague, GSTL is a very unusual beast, so I am not sure they will get to show their skill. Right now I have MMA in my anti-team, as I too think that without his mistreated coach, he's pretty bad, but since everyone picked him I am not going to pick him. I am too superstitious for that. :D I'll have to change my anti-team a bit, I'm too scared MMA will go full RoRo.
Finally, my racial balance is entirely coincidental. The inflated prices of zergs is what kept me away from them for the most part. Losira and Ragnarok were my top zerg picks, but together they are too much IM at once, so ended up with only 1 zerg in Ragnarok. Oh, and the team is named after First, the captain, of course. ^_^
I don't think this'll put me in the top10 but i'm pretty confident i can be placed above average :D I wish i had chose alicia and some others for 4 points but i limited myself to 3. It was hard already to cut out some of them..
The thing about MMA is that it's a complete high risk reward choice. It wouldn't be too crazy to put him on the main or the anti team. He is however, slightly overpriced, I guess him winning that one game in preseason plus his previous aura made him that overpriced.

Aphrodite in your Team is a pretty bold move.. I don't feel like the girls are already there
hrm, i am reconsidering how to fill up the last ten points on my team. currently i have genius + yoda for that spot, anyone have any recommendations for other options?
i already have most of the 5-pointers haha. any good 7+3 or 6+4 deals?

I think his anti team is much more of a bold move haha xD
Taking a risk with MKP in anti team but I think teams playing against Prime will prepare some pretty good terran snipers. Azubu and Axiom/Acer will rock
I will never stop believing in MKP and Prime (Plus MKP will probably play in every match and I feel Prime is undervalued with only 2). Curious already showed to be a real menace in the GSTL, so is Squirtle. Losira will definitely see more game time than MVP or Nestea and the others are pretty good filler for 3 or 4 points.
Anti Team is MC, because IM likes to send newer players in GSTL. sC just recently made the switch and I don't think he will do too well. And SortOf is a foreigner for 3 Points, so no-brainer

Bomber because he's a badass and I have a mancrush on him since MLG. Jjakji because he's really good in a weak team so should play a lot and have the potential for multiple kills each time. Keen is a solid starting player first week and I've been impressed by Creator and Dream lately so they seemed like good value. Some 1 pointers because I was out of points, went with unknowns in weak teams instead of unknowns in stronger teams for the high variance play since you play to win of course (higher chance they'll play compared to a 1 pointer in IM for example so could earn some points, but less likely they will get the 1 point for team winning).
For the anti-team the foreigners are obvious picks to me. I hope they prove me wrong of course. MMA is a bit of a gamble but don't see him returning to his former glory days, although I kind of want to be wrong about that as well.
I don't see how so many players pick IM players for their main team. IM has like 20 good players and the coach likes to give them all the opportunity to shine so it's very likely you pay a lot of points for someone who doesn't even get to play much.

If you think Ki Soo will do well, and put him on your main team, hes never done well outside of one GSL season, He's on my anti as a result.
And yes, I am an IM fan who picked Startale. The IM team isn't very good at teamleagues, and i wanted to save me some points. Sure they did good at IEM but honestly, the competition wasn't too too strong and the big name players dont get fielded as often in the teamleague hence why Mvp and Nestea are worth so little.
It was very hard to choose every player, because of the best of 7 Format. I tried to choose players that will always appear in the Lineup. And somehow I ended up kinda All-In...
Life was the obvious pick and Ragnarok looked good during the preseason. Alicia and GuMiho should see a lot of action I tried to spread my lineup around a bit.
i hope life will destroy entire teams alone, so hes totally worth the 9 points^^ rest of my team is a lot of terrans i think can score me some points here and there and kinda random protosses. sniper is way way overhyped in my eyes and i dont expect much from the both IM zerg, nestea will probably not even play much (or at all).
I can never pass MMA on a team league man, my faith in him is still alive that he will rise once again! E: Switched out Nestea for Alicia and Creator for Yonghwa
I mostly picked players I like, since I think it's hard to predict who will do well in HotS. I like IM as a team, but their roster is so deep that I don't really want to pick any of their individual players. MC is probably overpriced but he's a boss. Terror is a huge steal as Prime's top (only?) zerg. Had to pick between San and Genius and I went with my heart. <3

If you want a solid 6 pointer you can't go wrong with Creator. The Prime lineup is pretty small at the moment (so he's bound to get playtime) and he's way better than Classic (so is more likely to get wins).
Not sure who you'd want to pair him up with though.
I just got into starcraft and my friend told me about this fantasy team thing so he helped me make a team =D here we go. team rainbow zebra -bas was killed by rainbow zebra
1 Avenge is a cheap up and comer. And I needed a decent filler. 2 Bomber is my favorite player and is a macro beast =) 3 Dream has been showing good results and only costs 4 points. 4 Gumiho is soo good in GSTL. Almost picked Jjakji instead but he wont play after NSH is eliminated. 5 Maru is another great up and coming player and I expect him to do well in HotS 7 Ragnarok was very strong in the preseason and I needed a good Zerg other than Life and Violet. 8 Vampire because he was solid in WoL and only cost 3.
Team Prime because they have a really good line up with no Zergs for only 2. I would go for startale but no its mainly Life and Bomber on that team, so I think 4 is too much.
Hurricane becuase I expect him to do worse that the other value 5 players except maybe supernova. Both are kinda risky =(
Scarlett because she is unproven in HotS and is a foreigner.
For main team, I tried to spread my players around in the better teams, because GSTL is traditionally very prone to all kills (betting on Gumibear here). I'd love to pick my favorite team and chose more of its players, but knowing IM, they will decide to let their C team play when it would be most important to actually put out good players, so I decided against that. There is a ton of misvalued players (MKP at 7? Jjakjji at 7? While Yoda is only at 6, MVP only at 4, Squirtle at only at 5? wtf).
Life was a no-brainer. The best player in the world and Startale will need to rely on him as several of their better players have left recently
JJakji due to his good showing @ MLG and NSH not having many other capable players; hence he will get alot of time in the booth.
MC - well I know LG-IM are stacked; but coach Kang likes to put him in during team leagues and he looked good at HOTS launch and MLG. Old school MC resurging - where he just makes units and comes and kills you
Keen and Ruin as they are both playing week 1 and I think they are favoured in their match-ups. Can always trade them away.
Then i ran out of points so arbitraily picked players that have cool names. I am the ultimate EllenKey hipster also.
Anti-team
Leenock looked horri-bad getting owned by Bogus @ MLG. A good terran should be able to snipe him, not bad for 8.
SorfOf? Foreigner...no brainer
TerrOr? Who?
EZ
The edit is from changing my captain from Life to EllenKey
I don't know how to post those fancy tlpd links, so I just screenshotted mine.
Mkp's going to dominate and prime will be the surprise champs this year.! Anti team was hard to pick, but I chose MMA cause he cost 6 and he can't even beat slayers jessica these days.
I will say I don't like the captain system as there's really no incentive for picking a good captain. I don't know if anyone plays EPL's fantasy premier league, but there your captain earns you double points for the week.
Life as a captain of course, I mean, he's life. Then we got MC as second man, showing some insane results at MLG, and however much I might regret it, not letting NesTea slip by. I'm giving Mvp a shot in my team, he still has potential as long as his injury doesn't get worse. He's still better than a LOT of players at the GSTL. I think Sting's a good addition because he's shown some good games and he's terran(:p) Crank is quite adaptable and a hard trainer, and Bang & Golden.. I want to see an unknown player like Bang rise up and I really liked Golden in WoL.
My anti team I don't think is going to do very much because Maru's overrated (I think), Scarlett's is good but she seems very stuck to the metagame (atleast before it did) and JKS seemed like not such a strong player. Sorry JKS.
I know I shouldn't pick Nestea for a team league (only 3 games in 2012, all losses) since that's not his strength and they put mostly the other guys out there but with the amount of points i had left, i had to pick someone and he's definitely the best 3pointer out there, imo. If he gets to play, I'm counting on him figuring out the game a bit faster than the other players which should give him a significant advantage. Same reason I picked Mvp as well - he had only 1 game and lost it in 2012 but his current shape in HOTS makes me think that if he gets to play he will do well.
I didn't go for Maru or MKP as anti-team because they both have 67% win rate in team-leagues. And MMA's, while being 56% is inflated from results in 2011. His 2012 team league results is 5-3, with the last 5 games being losses + his general out of shapeness.
Taking the advice of mrbamboo and submitting a balanced team that. Also, besides the captain, everyone is from teams that play in the first weekend, with the intent to trade out whoever I can for the next week. Will hopefully keep Losira, Squirtle, and KeeN around because I like them and their value though.
Anti-team - initially had Curious as my high-point underachiever, but then I remembered that I had him on my anti-team for the last GSTL and got absolutely screwed over, so I replaced him. San and TheBest because their best results were a while ago (barring San's freak OSL run), and besides, who can ever forget "TheBest banshee control!" : P
edit: wow, almost exactly the same anti-team as the guy above me, nice to see others thinking the same way
I've gone with players I feel not only are on good form, but have the capability to play well in the team league environment. TREME seems to be a pretty good prospect so I'll take special interest in watching him.
For the anti team I just don't think Scarlett is up to scratch, she sticks to a very zerg favoured meta game from a time that is hopefully past (I am 100% not saying she's a patch zerg, just her style of play doesn't suit how HotS seems to be leaning). Tassadar I can't remember the last time he was relevant, and he is on NSH which is an advantage is avoiding the team-win point, and Supernova is at a greater risk of disappointing than the other 5 point players, but that may come round to bite me.
Very first time I’ve ever tried a fantasy league of any kind, so don't flame me too hard for any glaring mistakes
Have to say I really wanted viOLet as my captain, but since the 36 point limit only really allows you to have one big hitter I had to go with Jjakji. NSH’s ace by a long way, at the very least he’s guaranteed to make multiple appearances. His score has the goldilocks effect of been just right, isn’t cheap, but also isn’t expensive when you consider his GSTL achievements.
Ruin, Lure, Alicia and sC are all chosen around the fact that they play for teams who are playing in week 1 and Ruin is a guaranteed starter. I think Sc has a good chance to make a showing (if only for the fan-service). At 4 points I think he’s quite over-valued considering the likelihood that he’s been out of action the longest and could be quite rusty, if anything he’s good for trade value.
Lure was picked because that was pretty much the only choice left when it came to picking an affordable MVP player, I also have a sneaky suspision that week 1 will be the week of PvP and PvT. Alicia is a wild card, never got a showing in the pre-season, but I believe in AXA! Also guaranteed starter is a bonus.
That leaves Ganzi, RagnaroK and TREME. I’m honestly not sure about RagnaroK, he seems to be touted by everyone as the bargain of the start, but I wonder if the hype is real, or people are still looking through rose-tinted spectacles on the back of his pre-season performance.
I’m expecting AZU to do very well in the GSTL over all, and plan to have a lot more of their players by the end. For now, I’ll settle for the incredibly cheap Ganzi, if he gains any appreciation he may be a great trading piece. TREME is literally just to make up the ST numbers, nothing else to say there.
Picking IM as my team was probably the biggest hit to my points. There’s some method to my madness, plan to take the win from this week, then trade them out for AZU next week and hopefully cash in two wins on the trot. Of course if both those teams end up loosing then I’m off to a bad start :\
The anti-team, honestly I really don’t know. Curious was just a hedge if anything, ST aren’t playing in week 1 and 6 points gives me a lot of trading potential for week 2.”NAKSEO” was picked purely for the fact that he wins the award for dumbest new ID ever. Shine… meh, he’s Zerg and seems like a bleeder (in team leagues at least).

Welcome. Just to note, your captain does not have to be your highest value player. The only difference between a captain and a regular player is that you can't trade him. Sometimes, it's actually best to make your captain a 1pt player, so the remainder of your points are free to trade with.
so after watching the preseason, azubu and LGIM seemed really strong. so i picked the people who were, in my opinion, the best players from their teams, and then picked one person from different teams to finish off my group. that way, my players who were sort of my throw-aways (avenge, crank, and lucky) (who totally have the ability to surprise) can get me points when their team wins, so by having 3 different teams, i have three different opportunities to get points. For my Anti team, i went with MMA, who hasn't been very strong recently, sC just swiched back and will probably need more training time before getting sent out, and sort of, who is a zerg. also, korean teams who partner with foreign ones for the GSTL (the Startale Quantic partnership comes to mind) almost never use the foreign players. so i figure hes a safe bet. again, hes zerg.

Yeah, noticed the guy above me made Zero his captain, that idea never occured to me at the time. Also just had a thought, in order to make a trade for your anti-team can you only trade for a player with less points? Cause if so I already regret picking Curious :S

Yes, same rules as trading on the main team except more instead of less.
Main Team: I think Avenge is probably the best protoss player on Startale. BboongBboong has been playing really well lately. Lure was kind of just a "what can I get for a three". Life is just the best player in the world by leaps and bounds. Noblesse is a really good terran player that's underrated at 3 points. Salvation will pretty much always get playing time due to the small lineup of NSH. Seed has shown good play from what i've seen in HotS and will probably be making a decent amount of appearences. Supernova will probably play in most of the Azubu Matches. Startale for the team because honestly, I think Life will just carry them leaps and bounds.
Anti Team: Crank is really overrated in my opinion. San is another protoss who I really don't think is that good. With the lack of zerg success in tournaments thus far(except for Life), I expect Sniper to fall off a little bit.
Anti-teaming Life is a bad move; with Squirtle and Parting no longer on the team, he's almost guaranteed to play and win alongside one of Curious or Bomber.
Some of this is subject to change (especially anti-team).
I actually think GuMiho is slightly undervalued here, based on his past GSTL play and his overall skill level that I'm sure anyone whose seen him play in the last 2 years is well aware of. Moreover, his multi-tasking ability + speed medivacs has scary potential, and I can't wait to see him play.
Jjakji I just really really like as a player. He's the obvious ace player for NSH so he will play every match, and has all-kill capability. Fuck yeah, Jjakji :D
MC has looked good in HotS so far, and despite the monopoly IM has over Protosses, I think he'll be fielded more than most of them because he usually is, and plays well in GSTL. Also, he's MC.
Byun out, Lucky in. Saw that he's starting this week (and should win). He's usually a pretty good player.
Monster because DRG and Sniper are too expensive (and I'm not even sure how much better Sniper is, if at all). He hasn't been in GSL for a while (I think?), so he might have a head start on HotS relative to those two guys anyway. Overall he's a good player and might see a few starts.
Terror is the only Zerg on Prime; many thanks to those of you who mentioned that in this thread
Tible entirely because he's cheap. Didn't realize SortOf is with NSH so he might not see (m)any games, but can still yield some indirect points if the team wins. Would prefer Seal or Freaky... but.. y'know :[
Crank because Axiom is playing this week.
I don't like Prime, but they're cheaper than they should be here.
Anti team always kills me, so what do I know about this. Super/Vampire is low on the depth chart for MVP. There's no way sC (who I love as a player) should be 4 points, considering he's spent the last little while playing LoL. His health is an obvious concern and he didn't look so great last time he played SC. I just can't see him playing a lot/winning many games when you look at MVP's depth (unfortunately). Finally, MMA might see games based on his name alone, but if the team wants to win they'll probably be better off using Ryung if they can. Maybe MMA can surprise me, but I've all but given up on him returning to form.

Anti-team, you can only trade for players with higher point value. Also, you can still change you team, just click the "sign up" link again, and you can modify the team, until the deadline. :p
So I picked Bomber because he is easily Startale's second or third best player but more importantly their best Terran. That should see him get lots of chances to play. I picked Creator simply because in my opinion he is the best player on a lack luster Prime team that probably wont do to well. This should see him get lots off opportunities and there is no doubt he'll do really well. My pick of Dream is really just through his impressive play of late and I think he's going to have the edge of playing over KeeN for MVP. RagnaroK is probably my favorite pick. Saw him absolutely crush STC before the GSTL Preliminaries where he continued to impress. He looks really good in HotS and he'll surprise everyone and will shine for IM. TAiLS has always been a great performer in GSTL and should be MVPs Protoss of choice. TREME. Simple, with Squirtle gone he is Startale's best Protoss. And 3 points for the best player of a race on a team seems too good to be true. TerrOr is Prime's only Zerg. FXO always does well in GSTL, though IM will definitely be the favorites.
MMA, hasn't impressed me of late. I'm not sure how well he'll do but he just might be Axiom's ace so who knows. Sang Ho, I think MVPs other Protoss-es will play ahead of him more often than not. Genius and San should play ahead of VINES.
My first plan was to make a team with 1 or 2 fewer players and spend the left over points elsewhere. But the fantasy guys though better so I changed my plan. While working on a well thought out team, I decided to screw that idea and go with my 'special trait' team.
I think MC is a perfect Captain, he thrives on an unsettled metagame, and is the master of unit control, and abusive build innovations-- he dominated the first half of wings, and I think the current environment makes him powerful. :D
Overall it's a bit terran-light at the moment, but I'm aiming it to be more trade focused, so I'm not too worried.
I'm having a really hard time choosing between First Yonghwa and Squirtle, they're all 5 pointers, Protoss and on IM, and all excellent players. Going with Squirtle for now but I'll probably end up changing it 10 times before the deadline.

Ah cheers, that's really good to know. Definately rushed the anti-team, will give that another try I think.
Main Team 3 Crank Solid Protoss player who will see some play on the rather small team. 4 Genius He strikes from the shadows, Voidrays are imba and genius is the master of them. 4 Kangho(LosirA) GSTL beast. 9 Life (captain) Life finds a way. 3 Lucky Not so sure about Lucky. 4 Seed This guy is a GSL champion and has great control. 4 Sting IEM singapore winner - terrans are strong and sting has good multi tasking/macro. 3 TheBest Master of allins and snipes I feel. 2 [tlpd#teams##sc2-korean]AxiomAcer[/tlpd] Not sure which team to pick - It is eitehr acer or prime, both of which I am uncertain.
Anti Team 6 MC 4 Mvp 3 SortOf
So this is my team. Any comments? I feel like Life is gonna be a hard player to snipe yet probably wont be worth 9 points.
Anti Team: MC goes to many international tournaments and wont be playing all the time. Mvp is a BoX player and focuses much on the GSL. Sortof probably wont get to the korean level until much later.
Anti Team 4 송재경-(JKS) 6 권태훈-(Sniper) 3 김찬민-(theBest)
My team's basic concept is believing in and rooting for AZB. Expecting them to win the season, I picked their ace players" Genius and Vioet who are still one of the best players of the race, the dark horse San who will revive soon, and the underrated zerg player Sleep.
Despite that I expect Azubu to win this GSTL, I still thought Life would be the MVP for the whole season. And that's why he's the captain of my team.
The other three are the players i think being underrated hard. It's quite hard to say that MVP has shown as good shape in team leagues as he has shown in individual leagues. However, he's always been one of the best terrans in the world since 2010 (even when he was suffering from injuries), and I believe he will have done at least tier 7 worth.
Madbull and SSanaee are the two underrated players in NSH. They were quite famous in Korean SC2 scene even before they got into the team becuase they had good results from several amateur clan tourneys (which pro players also often part in), and they have become well known as upcoming rookie pro players since the HOTS beta.
It was quite hard to organize the anti team, cuz all high tier players seemed to do well. However, I believe Sniper will not do as much as his tier because MVP already got the greatest zerg player MVP and Monster who recently won the first HSL over Maru. They also got shine for backup, so Sniper will not grab the opportunity to play every week since this GSTL has format of BO7 which allows only 4 players on a team to play- and MVP will only use 1-2 zergs.
JKS and TheBest will also not get the opportunity, because of the existence of the ace players of the team, FXO, Leenock , Lucky, and Gumiho.
P.S I don't know how my rosters in in Korean.( Maybe cuz I am Korean?)
No, I am not taking it 100% seriously with that suicidal triple terran anti-team - I just don't like MarineKing, I count on Bomber being the disappointing Bomber and Supernova...I think he's not as good as he once was. Just a gamble, purely for the fun.
And, I want to see FXO win another GSTL, simple as that.
Pet was decent kind of that 3rd zerg behind line/life but tbh he's mostly here because I need someone to fill it out now onto everyone else classic similar but mostly because new game means new cheeses for the prime toss. Jjakji has been beasting hots imo he's the best esf terran atm so I had to take him instantly. Byun is the greatest player ever stfu. Losira is a team league monster and is prime for a second try at a resurgance. Monster/Seed/Hack fill it out as some players who I saw some solid hots performance and whom I know have been excellent before so I decided to roll out with them. As for the anti-team well despite my cheers my hopes for axiom/acer are pretty damn low and miss because why not take no damage after risking it pretty hard on the two players likely to carry axiom/acer (Unless alicia goes HAM).
Man I'm getting cold-sweats over my SortOf/Scarlett/MMA anti-team. I just know MMA will fuck things up for me, like he did in the past! Defeating Mvp those times, in GSL and GSTL. :p
SortOf/Scarlett seems such a good choice for anti-team, but picking those you need a 6< point player to fill the 13 quota. In the 6 range, most players are unquestionable really powerful, Curious, Creator, and YoDa for example. But then it hit me: Ryung. Ryung is a good player, but his weakness has always been early aggression/all-ins - in particularly those from Protoss. I don't think Ryung's strengths will be very useful in the aggressive and unexplored early part of this new expansion. He seems like a perfect MMA replacement in the anti-team.
Sniper is another choice, because I plain and simple think he's overpriced - he's good, but even in MVP I don't think he's the second best zerg next to DRG, tbh. But nah, I shall stay far away from such a dangerous person as Sniper. The guy is a menace!
Basically I picked up Life and then players I thought that would do well in team leagues (or have in the past). For my anti team I put San, Tear, and Tassadar because they are pretty inconsistent. Terrans will be very good in this All-Kill format!

should have named the team "i have no idea what i am doing" picked SSanaEE because he looked good in the one game i remember him seeing in, and he is cheap (and his name remindes me of Gangnam Style) Ruin played really good in the pre season and InCa because i had only 2 points to spend.
Anti Team, well you know this isn't Wings of Lings my friends. And i think Nestea and Scarlett are overrated, yes i said it, you hear me Artosis.

I feel like my team is going to be pretty be pretty badass, if I do say so myself! :D any suggestions besides how dumb I am for putting MKP on anti team? You'll see
I do believe I may have too many 2's but they are good players that will see some games, I hope. :D
Jjakji was relatively cheap for his caliber of a player, and is looking pretty strong in HOTS. KeeN is a teamleague monster, Miya is mostly to get some AA, Noblesse looked strong towards the end of WoL and plays Terran. RagnaroK looked amazing in the preseason and is really cheap. Ruin, San, and Seed are all cheap, strong players.
For my anti-team, I basically picked Zergs I thought would be bad at adapting to HOTS.

Now that I've had a little time to rethink it here's my revised team.
sC to the Anti-team. Just makes more sense, likely to play (showcase a returning player), likely to fail if he does (long time out of action) and is in my opinion over-priced, useful for making up the anti-team points. Ultimately it’s a gamble, and there’s still trading potential when week 1 is done.
IM out, AXA in. This is to give me an extra 3 points, ultimately I think my whole IM --> AZU trade was a little over zealous. I’ll take the gamble that they’re cheap due to a poor pre-season showing.
Curious out, viOLet in. I did always want viOLet, he’s coming into replace Curious who was a pretty dumb choice anyway.
Swagger is now on my anti-team in the hope that he still has nightmares over that dismal GSL up and down performance he had (I know, I'm evil).
Also TREME is now the captain. Just seems like a player who will pick up the odd win so is worth keeping around but is unlikely to appreciate in value. Could come back to bite me, we’ll see.
Prime looks to be by far the best team value (2 points for MKP, Byun, Maru, Creator?)
Jjakji as captain because he's basically guaranteed to play every week (It's doubtful NSH can win a match without him)
Ruin and Keen are my picks to win the first 2 starters. Keen I feel pretty comfortable with as he's a solid Terran for only 4 points. Ruin is a bit more risky. He has some quiet darkhorse hype to him (did well in IPL HotS qualifier and earned a starting spot over a stacked IM roster.) But I'm pretty much gambling on him winning so I can trade him later.
Imo Supernova and Genius are good bargains at 5 and 4, respectively, as they seemed to have transitioned to HotS pretty well and hold high spots on their team.
Hurricane was a good central teamleague player in Wings and holds a high win percentage in HotS....but really I just like his name. Byun will play often. (Prime has little depth/disparity in who they will send out). Zero because 1 point Zerg.
Anti=2 foreigner zergs +
MC. Not sure. Who do you guys think is the best pick for 6 point anti team?
Edit: Just realized I forgot to put TREME on my team! (He's shown good play in HotS thus far and is the definitive ST Protoss ace)
I did not even realize it was 36 points for this round, so when I did I upgraded from AXA - Miya (3 points) to ST - Life (9 points). I already have enough ST players so variety in teams was cool but if I can have Life in my team I might as well do it!
A bit of fanboyism here for MKP captain, but I honestly believe he has the time to play at a very good level so he will be worth his captain seed. Prime as a team because they are cheap and most of their players are tearing up the ladder. I picked ByuN because he is a beast AND doing good on ladder and terran on hots, not too expensive, can't not take him. HogU because he did beat his teammates and a few other players in some qualif tourney, so he is one of the only 1 pointer with some kill potential.
As for Mvp, the greatest terran in WoL who is seemingly making a comeback on HotS is as cheap as Killer, one of the first koreans to lose to foreigners (well it was Select so not really foreigner)? That's indecent. Auto-pick, even though his health might not allow him to perform for 14 weeks straight his value is probably gonna up in the first weeks of the release.
Lucky, Noblesse and Avenge : Three good yet cheap players from different teams, can't miss them. I don't know how well Avenge performed on HotS but I remember his name so he must be decent. Lucky is opening vs IM and is relatively cheap, bringing FXO points.
Anti team
Swagger? Nuff said. (in all seriousness though, I think he is the Zenio of protoss, was doing okay in early sc2, but has reached his peak back then).
Curious was a relatively tough choice, most of the 5-6-7 pointers are good, so I'm gambling on the fact that Curious didn't have that much training because of the GSL final, and isn't gonna perform that great since zerg ain't doing so well on HotS. Plus Life has all-kill potential so they might not even send Curious, but rather Bomber or Hack or one of their protoss.
SortOf : I initially had TheBest because he doesn't seem very good, but I saw on some thread that he had like 70% winratio on the KR ladder, and terran is doing good on HotS so picking a foreigner zerg costing the same amount seems like the best deal. I think he will have playtime and BO prepared though, so it's kind of a risky but needed choice.
I didn't put as much thought in this Fantasy League as in FPL, because overthinking FL doesn't seem the right solution so I'll go with my gut and HotS is hard to predict especially in all-kill format. The high number of trades will allow me to adjust my team, if the majority of my players are doing as well as expected which should be the case.
Besides Aphrodite, who I only picked cause shes hot, I just think this team is going to have a strong season. :D
Anti: I might change Vampire, but I don't believe MMA is going to have a good season, and I never see Tassadar play (Ill be honest that I don't watch it as much, so please help me if I should change that)
I feel that Squirtle as captain will be a good choice due to being able to create new strategies for a game which is very unrefined atm, as well ass being picked up by LG-IM giving him one of the best practice environments. The others are picked based on good performance in the beginning of WoL, hopefully they'll be able to innovate again.
Really depending on Axiom/Acer playing horribly. Gumiho and Tear should play every game for FXO when they need to deploy a terran or protoss ace. MKP and Maru will also play in every game for prime, hopefully bring in the points. Same goes for Seed in the team leagues. To finish of the team I picked a few 1-2 point players from the smaller teams to hope they pull off an upsets.
My first attempt at making a team involved using less slots until I realized I had to fill everyone and was forced to find players with less point value.
Originally I had Creator as my player to represent Prime and I had to downgrade to Byun.
I wanted Gumiho to be the Terran for FXO but he had to be sacraficed so I can get more credible 3-4 pointers. Due to his ladder results and FXO's willingness to use him I've subbed in TheBest for Gumiho.
I choose both Sniper and Tear from the beginning.Tear is decent GSTL player from the past with really good ladder rankings for HOTS. FXO's Protoss lineup is limited enough that I think he will get played a lot. Sniper is the opposite of Tear. Little to no record in HOTS but impressive past results in different team leagues. As a secondary zerg to DRG it's either him or Monster and I'll err on the side of caution with the more expensive player.
MVP was a difficult choice to make. If he ever gets picked to play it will usually be if IM is in trouble. IM has a deep roster but the Terrans they can use in a clutch situation is more limited. Skillwise MVP is undervalued but relative to the opportunity of when he will get played the current value makes sense.
Choosing Genius, Scarlett & Miya was a question over picking them over the likes of Alicia, Ganzi, Top, San, Bbong and a few others. I'll probably regret picking both Zergs on Axiom but since I wanted to spread my talent pool around to different teams outside of NSH (they won't win) or Startale (too bloated to make an educated guess on who will be picked) I was finding a hard time choosing anybody else for the points available.
For teams only 2 teams made sense out of all of them. FXO is a great value at 4 points and Axiom seems like a quality pick at 2 points.
As for the anti-team my choice is kind dumb because I'm spreading my choice across 3 different teams instead of stacking it into one. Originally I was stacking my points into MVP because I expected DRG to carry them as usual but after looking more closely at past GSTLs I realized there's too many team league monsters in their lineup.
I'm taking a risk with MC. I expect him to be played the least out of the 3 multi-GSL champions. With IM's varied and deep protoss lineup there is barely any room for MC to be played.
Originally I had Tassadar on NSH on my anti-team and then I clued in on how much of GSTL beast he has been even without his former protoss buddies. He can't carry a team like DRG but he won't underperform relative to his point value. As a result I swapped in Sting instead. Killer just seems to be overvalued.

He was mostly put in when IM was getting wrecked and were down by 2-3 games in the past GSTLs, and even when he was sent out, he didn't play like individual league Mvp. IM coach also likes to play his up and comers and people who haven't had much stage experience in the team league.

Doubtful. The only chance he'll get is if IM could be in trouble vs a strong player, and even still. Then again, he doesn't have GSL to prepare anyone T.T so maybe. Mvp was actually a pretty good team player in the early GSTLs, and their ace player, but they are just so stacked right now.
Yes please, I will take 3 of the best overall WOL players MC/MVP/Nestea. Creator is always consistent and Prime's lineup is pretty bare so I think he's playing every single match and he tends to win a lot. I was between B4 and Seed and B4 had a higher ELO. Curious is top 3 ELO currently and only 6 pts so that was a nobrainer. Bang and Hell are basically just gambles that will probably not do anything but could pay off big, + I wanted some more broad team representation as I was favoring IM quite heavily.
My anti-team was easy. Two foreigners and a washed up has-been who hasn't been good since before the queen buff. I can see Scarlett going nuts and crushing some Korean face, but I'm not at all worried about SortOfAPatchZerg
I think right now balance goes like zerg>>>>protoss=terran>zerg. Nobody should ever lose a zvp currently, but tvp is fairly balanced and terran has a slight edge over zerg.
Pet hipsters unite! :D Good choice of key players, I hope! If your team doesn't work out at least somewhat, mine is also screwed.
Jjakji: incredible showing at every event, lots of multitask viOlet: lots of multitask, not feared to create new strategies Yongwha: Will all-in his way to victory Squirtle: Same Dream: Same as Jjakji, a lot of multitaks and great use of the medivacs Noblesse: code S as terran in the last WoL gsl? enough for me Shine: I think he's more than a patch zerg Ssanaee: Well he looked not bad, enough for only 1 point.
Team NSH: Hoseo could have a great showing at this event, Jjiakji is in really good shape, Sting could snipe, Tassadar could do some very funky builds, Ssanaee looks also good, and I don't know if Arthur (new WW recruit) will play but it also could be another weapon for team NSH.
Anti team: Sniper: quite a risk here, let's see if he's a patch zerg. SortOf: foreigners never did well in GSTL, safe bet here Killer: He's just bad.
Aphrodite because why not? Bomber because I am a huge Bomber fanboy Crank because he is good. Eve because again, why not? Gumiho because he is a monster. Jjakji because he is also a monster. RagnaroK for being great at the GSTL Shine for filler. Startale because I am a huge fanboy
First because I don't really like him MKP because I like risks. Zero for filler.
Realized that MC was probably not the best captain pick-- I think he'll dominate HotS completely, but the fact that he's an inconsistent show at GSTL to start with because of travelling and because IM is has a large roster and is stacked, and the fact that he won't want to showcase new builds for single matches like the GSTL especially when he's not representing his team per se, makes him a good, cost effective anti-pick rather than a good captain. It's probably technically better to go with 5/4/4 point distribution for an antiteam rather than 6/4/3 since you can only trade up, but meh.
MKP on the other hand is tearing up the Korean ladder atm, and will be a staple on Prime, plus he thrives on chaos, so swapped him in. Was tough to pick him over Jjakji (both are dominant, in good form, and standout players on a relatively small lineup so will make a lot of appearances), I went with the gut on this one.
as you can see from my team name, this is my first time participating in any fantasy league so I'm throwing it up into the air here
I'm relying on Life and Losira to muta-bane-insta-win to get some points, with Yonghwa for random all-kills. As for AcE, Avenge, Mvp and Ruin, I hope they get some air time as well though I doubt Mvp will get as much. Noblesse is used pretty frequently so I chose him and at 3 points, I think its as steal. Azubu as the main team just because
As for the anti-team, I think Genius and Supernova are past their time. They might get used frequently in GSTL but I doubt they'll win matches. As for Seed, I'm not really sure but he's pretty inconsistent.
Simple strategy really. I expect IM to crush, and then will rack up points with 2 aces (GuMiho, MMA), one guranteed staring player (Creator) and two up an comers (Maru, RagnaroK). 3 one-pointers for filler/points, although i expect madbull to play since NSH has basically nobody on it. For anti, i'm banking on the fact that since IM has such a stacked roster, none of their big guns will be sent out =).
I had original had Ganzi (3) + Noblesse (3) + LGIM.(5) which I later swapped for Byul (4), Tear (5), Prime.(2). I thought the team scoring with using the FPL round 3 rules, which is less forgiving for team losses, but it looks like we are using FPL Round 2 rules. Also that means 4-0 all kill is worth +6 not +8 like old FGSTL. Those changes makes me think throwing 5 points on LGIM isn't quite worth it. I think LGIM and FXO are the two strongest teams, which is unfortunately as they face off each other first week. In the end I went with PRIME which frees up quite a bit of value to get better players. Prime has a fairly strong core 4 in MKP, Byun, Maru, Creator. It's hard to say as this makes them a bit predictable but terrans are pretty strong in HoTS. I don't think those players are individually worth their value, as consistency seems to be a bit lacking, but as a team they can do well enough to be worth the 2 point valuation. A great part is that Byul and Tear are really really good so it was definitely worth sacrificing LGIM team pick to get those.
Anyways. Main Team.
Jjakji - Fairly obvious pick. Out of the all the 6+ value players I think Jjakji is the best deal. He's very good player on a weak team. Has consistently carried NSH in team leagues. NSH won't do amazing as a team, but Jjakji is going to almost always take a few kills. He's like the DRG of team MVP last fantasy GSTL, except not quite a dominating, but definitely a star surrounded by weak support.
Ruin, Ragnarok, Byul - IM players that have done really well in the preseason. For 3-4 points they are a great deal. IM will do well and their coach has a tendency to send out their lesser known players. I imagine MC/Squirtle/Mvp/Nestea will rarely ever get used. Yoda/First will see quite a bit of play from IM but are a bit on the expensive side. Ruin is opening and I think he should beat FXOLucky and maybe get even 1 more kill after.
Tear, JKS - Tear is a stable of FXO among Gumiho and Leenock, who are both too expensive to get. He'll be a regular. JKS has seen a lot of play in preseason and done fairly well. I expect he'll be the 4th to round out FXO's core. The other FXO supports are Lucky/TheBest which are not too consistent. I'm curious to see if sC will see a lot of play with his return to HoTS.
Keen - I've always liked keen. It's too bad there are quite a few similarly skilled terrans on MVP in Dream and Noblesse who will compete for getting played. But he's starting and I think he's chances are decent to beat Alicia. This is probably the riskiest pick on my whole roster. If Keen loses his opening match, it's hard to call how likely he'll get sent out next time MVP plays and force my hand to trade him for a lower value player early in the season.
TREME - Man, StarTale's protoss line up got obliterated with Squirtle and Parting leaving. TREME is their strongest toss and a good deal at 3 points. Life and Bomber will be the big guns with Curious and TREME rounding out the support. I just hope ST coach has the good sense of not sending out AcE over TREME, that guy is all talk no skill and I just can't stand him.
Prime - As I mentioned earlier, dropped LGIM to pick better players. Prime is the next best choice for value. They have the advantage of having no good zerg which are bad in HoTS anyway if you are not Life.
Anti-Team
This one was actually pretty easy for me. Out of all the 6+ value players, Ryung is definitely the least deserving of that valuation. Scarlet and SortOf are not bad, but they are foreigner zergs on weak team. That's way overvalued for the 3 and 4 points they are at. I actually like these players but unfortunately I don't think they'll be surprising anyone at GSTL any time soon.
Anyways. There you go. Here's to hoping for a 2nd FGSTL victory
7 Jjakji Jjakji is a fairly common choice, but for notably good reason. On NSHS he's basically a guarenteed player every single week, and even in NSHS's worst of times it was pretty rare for them to get swept as Jumanji would typically pull out 1-3 wins every time.
4 Kangho(LosirA) I needed some more IM players in my fantasy team because that team is OP. Losira specifically is honestly a bit of a gamble. IM is a team that can field any one of their 15 good players, but their zerg lineup can easily be shuffled between Byul, Ragnarok or Losira and they are all respectable choices. Losira feels the slightly safer bet of these three and has looked better recently in WoL at least so I'm hopeful for his HotS.
4 KeeN Keen's awesome. He's also starting and it was a great strategy to all-in on certain starting players for all-kill format because you never know where they can take you. Keen has the high level skills, and I'm hoping he really picks up again in HotS with some consistency and flair.
3 Lucky Lucky is basically me going all-in on not-Ruin. This is my big fat gamble of the week. If Lucky beats Ruin, I look like a genius. If he doesn't, well I'm probably instantly behind everyone else who is picking Ruin. In the long run I also don't really want a IM protoss. There's like 6 of them that are good. You are literally rolling a dice hoping your IM protoss plays this week. I might roll that dice later.
1 madbull (captain) Sort of a filler 1 pointer. On NSHS as a 1 pointer though maybe he'll actually play and win a game somewhere in the season. He was also hilarious as balls, so that gets him credit. I like the concept of captain'ing a low pointer and focusing on trading big stars. It's better for gambling =D
5 NAKSEO(Monster) Monster is one of the zerg MVP trio, he will get gametime. In addition, dude won the HSL against some decent competition and terrans no less whilst everyone complained about them. I feel like this might be one of my safest bets. Then again he made a terrible name change so *shrugs*.
2 TOP This isn't really a bet I expect to pay off in a big way. Really what I'm hoping here is that Azubu field some terrans in light of great demonstrations at MLG and TOP gets some playtime instead of Ganzi and before Supernova. Also I used to love TOP. Manly voice of manhood with man-macro and 2-3 fangirls.
6 YoDa Yoda is the IM bet I'm making that I need to pay off. Losira was a bit of a gamble IM bet, but Yoda is the bigger IM bet in that at 6 points I'm basically hoping he takes some recent momentum and builds heavily upon it to come out as the IM terran ace for GSTL. The big concern here is that Yoda has never really carried IM in a GSTL and that really I'd still put MVP as a scarier player. Still, I feel like Yoda will be the go-to for IM when they need a terran. Unlike zerg and protoss they don't have as deep a lineup here. Yoda will get playtime. For my fantasy team I need him to get win streak time though.
4 [tlpd#teams##sc2-korean]MVP[/tlpd] And finally I've basically gone for MVP as a team because I feel their chances of winning in week 1 are far higher than the other teams. FXO vs IM could be too close to call, and other teams which might be undervalued (Prime notably at 2 points) aren't playing this week. And in FPL having a dead week for an item of your team hurts. Having them for too many items would hurt a lot. I'm hoping for MVP to get a decent score and trade them away if I'm too scared about their games to come.
Anti Team 6 Ryung Probably the weakest of the 6 pointers. A bit of a risk tbh because at his peak Ryung had a devastating TvT and great TvZ. A devastating TvT run might wreck my anti-team in a terran rich environment, but at the end of the day I still think his TvP is such a clear counter it shouldn't be too bad.
4 Scarlett I think Scarlett will get some game time, but I think she won't secure enough wins to dent my fantasy team heavily.
3 VINES At 3 points I think VINES is overrated, but he is on a small team so he might get some play. Most likely I don't expect to see much of him at all.
I think overall I'm pretty happy. I'm also gamble heavy, because you've got to gamble to win it. I'm not here for no "I'll just be happy to get a respectable score". And mrbamboo is vicious. Gotta beat that guy.
Well this is my first time doing this so I just relied on my gut feel.
Life - who wouldn't Ryung - showed solid or semi-solid run at the previous GSL Squirtle - the new team may reinvigorate his dominant self Leenock - I dunno I still think he's inconsistent in Korean leagues unlike foreign ones.
I really wish I could afford to get San on the team without sacrificing Bomber, Gumiho, Jjakji or Byun. Oh well, we'll see how it goes. I decided to get a fair amount of higher valued players in case I have to do some serious trading.
are pretty obvious picks for me. All 4 of them play practically every match for their respective teams. All 4 are extremely strong and have the skill to win multiple matches or all-kill.
I'm very surprised he's only 3 points and was an easy pick for me. He plays a good amount of games for FXO in the GSTL and is really solid. He gets streaky a lot and can string together 2-3 wins easily.
is another player who I think will see a fair bit of time playing for NSH. Last season he didn't play all that much, but considering how weak NSH is and how he stomped on Moon and Luvsic, I'd say he has a good chance of going out against a Z opponent early in matches.
is a decent protoss, nothing too special. However, he's starting for LG-IM which means they have some confidence in him to do well. I want him for the team points. I have a feeling LG-IM is going to have a pretty sick season.
because they're the best bang for their buck at only 2 points compared to the entire mass of teams stuck at 4. With a good strong core of 4 players, they have a good chance of winning a decent amount of matches, and even less of a chance of not getting any points at all.
has had some good performances in the past, but I'm not sure how his transition into HOTS will treat him. I don't think that he'll be able to really stand up to any of the bigger named players.
just isn't at the level of the Koreans. I feel bad saying that, and I'd love to be proven wrong, but I just don't see her winning any games unless against some B-Teamer.
I realize that I have both Lucky and Ruin on the team and both are starting against one another. Even if Lucky wasn't starting I'd have put him on my team. I'm hoping that I can make up for whatever happens with this particular game in the future.
Oh, if anyone's wants, here are some logo's for the teams:+ Show Spoiler +
Team Våd Ål I wanted to go for a terran heavy lineup to exploit the current trend in HotS. I also wanted to go a bit top heavy, hence Bomber / MK / KeeN. I'm a huge TOP hipster, so for 2 points he had to go too Picked Supreme for captain to go for a 1pointer for my non-tradable. As for LosirA and Squirtle, well, I needed a P and a Z and they're both quite good too I went for Lucky because he's starting out for FXO this week and I reckon he can beat Ruin, lol. Finally I picked ST because they're strong. Not much else to say there, they're kinda good! Main Team 6 Bomber 4 Kangho(LosirA) 4 KeeN 3 Lucky 7 MarineKing 5 Squirtle 1 Supreme (captain) 2 TOP 4 [tlpd#teams##sc2-korean]StarTale[/tlpd]
No faith in Heart or Scarlett. Sorry. As for Maru... well, eh, I needed a 5pointer for my anti and he's always been shaky. Anti Team 4 Heart 5 Maru 4 Scarlett
I really wanted to read the analyses of everyone here, but it was taking me too long, sadly. I'll just have to unveil the winning team right here (lol, ignore the fact that I've done horribly in every FPL I've entered).
Chicken Sandwiches (Alternatively, People who don't understand SC2 well.)
Jjakji is my favorite and most captainous player. I'm really glad he's doing so well in HotS, and of course he's essential for earning kills when NSH needs him. Tear and Yonghwa are both proven absolute beasts in team leagues, and have a significant percentage of their teams' wins. Dream is strong, young, and still improving yet. He's impressed at recent IEMs, and I'm comfortable putting faith in him. LGIM has been taking in so many free agents with potential and turning them into monsters. Ragnarok had great results in the preseason and I hope he continues this. Sleep and SSanaEE are both low-pointers with a lot to prove. Sleep is no newcomer to SC2 and has a respectable record overall, while SSanaEE won his first debut game, a rare feat. I've always thought of ZeNEXTREME as one of those players who had a cool name but lacked a cool game, but he surprised in the preseason by getting 2 kills. Probably one of the best 3-pointers now. Time to let out your inner EXTREME! Team LGIM. First time I've splurged on an expensive team, and even though they typically have underperformed in GSTL, they may be able to get it together this season. We'll see.
Byun seems to have had two periods of greatness, early 2011 and Season 3 2012, neither of which were deeply impressed into my mind I guess. I don't fully trust him. Heart can surely throw in a surprise cheese, and even play a solid macro game when forced to, but all the 4-pointers were just so good, and I had to pick someone. Plus, his team is the as yet unproven AxiomAcer. Killer has been struggling lately, as everyone knows.
I did want to obtain Life initially. However, he's really only UNBEATABLE in Bo5+, while in a Bo1 he may sometimes graciously allow his opponent a victory. That and the cost.
LGIM players: I share the thought with many people that LGIM will win a lot of matches but will send out unpredictable lineups. So, I tried to limit the number of actual players on my team while keeping LGIM itself.
Many thanks to DirtyBirD for providing logo links!!

With a good strong core of 4 players, they have a good chance of winning a decent amount of matches, and even less of a chance of not getting any points at all.
is on a pretty stacked team right now and I don't think he'll really be able to do too much in the team league. If he's brought out, I think it'll be at the end of the match against another strong opponent. I think this one is a pretty big gamble.
All three are priced high, which gives me a lot of room to wiggle in the trade market if I need to.
I like your main team but your anti-team makes my heart break since your decision making for the main team seems to be on point.
MMA was good at team leagues. He started sucking hard when the atmosphere at Slayers was turning for the worst.
Ryung is overvalvued so that isn't a big deal.
Violet on the otoh is a big deal. You already spent a lot of high points with Ryung. You don't need both MMA and Violet in the anti-team and frankly neither one should be there. MMA will be played to break streaks. Violet is the only strong Zerg to be guarantied games on Azabu.

Except if the rules have changed regarding the anti-team trading, which I doubt seeing as almost everyone has his anti at 13 $, you are forced to trade players from anti against players with higher value than them, so by picking three expensives players in your anti you probably won't be able to trade them, and it will be desastrous.

Yeah, people please make sure to learn how antiteams work! Thirteen points is the minimum and you want the players who will get the LEAST WINS POSSIBLE on your anti!! MMA used to be a DRG-style MONSTER at team leagues, and back in SlayerS' baby days he was the only one who could get a friggin' win at all! And in the preseason, Violet...well, he ALL-KILLED a team. I wouldn't let him near my antiteam.
Final iteration. :p Already went over most of the team in earlier posts, the only two differences here would be MMA traded for Ryung, and I changed my two low point players from Startale to Treme and Pet, but then decided I'd rather trade for 2nd week coverage, and switched Treme for Ruin, hoping to cash in on him starting and hopefully getting a win or two. I didn't want too many IM players, but here we are, haha. Basically, I decided to take some more IM players to cash in on W1, and trade for team coverage instead of trying to grasp every player and team early.

Oh, I didn't play in any of the previous FPL's so I had no idea that you could only trade UP for anti team. Well, I guess I'll have to adjust my anti team, but leave my main alone. Appreciate the heads up guys.
Mostly chose players I think will play a lot and Mvp because Mvp. Oh and I forgot that Golden is now on Startale, that might not have been the best pick haha. MMA is never worth 6 points right now imo so he's a fairly easy anti team pick. As for the other two, they may or may not be good but there's far better players on their respective teams.

If you want Crank, I'd recommend trading for him next week, he is in the UK when the first AxiomAcer match happens.
I've never done this sort of thing before, but I feel like this is a decent first try (after much tweaking, of course). Jjakji and Ryung are the best players on weak teams, and thus guaranteed play time and likely to get kills (if not wins). Noblesse seems highly undervalued, and was a no-brainer to pick up. Everyone seems to like Ruin. I needed a Zerg, and BboongBboong seemed like a solid choice for his cost. I'm hopeful TOP will get some playing time, but I won't be heartbroken if he doesn't. Tear seems to like to go on streaks in teamleagues, so I'm hopeful for him. And IM is, of course, the most stacked team in existence.
As for the Anti Team, MMA hasn't looked good in a very long time, I don't see Killer winning (and I don't particularly like his new name), and SortOf may not even get playing time (despite being on the weakest team, he is a foreigner).
I went for a mostly IM lineup. Included Golden and Ace because I needed a couple of 2-pointers.
For being the best team, their individual team members are highly under-scored IMO, so I took advantage of it. It seemed like a good idea.
For the anti-Team, I added SC right away as soon as I saw that he was worth 4 points. He just got back into SC2. I don't see why he'd be worth 4 points.
My mouse slipped and I picked Shine, was hoping to get sC. I guess the message I'm getting across with this team is that I don't have a lot of faith in Axiom-Acer.
I went with a few players that have already proven they could perform well in HotS(MVP, Life, SuperNova). The rest of the players I put on there are ones that I like. My anti-team is kind of sketchy, but I think it could work.
I went too much with my heart again. I'm not sure if DRG has adjusted to HotS yet and as far as I know his play hasn't been the best lately I believe tho...
Bomber will tear shit the fuck up. Kangho(LosirA) was absolutely reverting to his former glory at the end of wings, and he's on IM so a solid pick. Maru is one of the most undervalued players and a key component in Prime's lineup this season. The little dude kicks ass, if you don't believe me watch the HSL. EMMAVEEPEEE. NAKSEO(Monster) is really fucking good, actually, he's a monster. SalvatioN is a solid player, I'm banking on him getting sent out a fair amount and nabbing me some points if NSH actually wins a match :D. SuperNova is very skilled in HotS, I think eventually he will fall in value but I still think he'll net me more than he's worth. TREME, solid as fuck toss in HotS, and really the only P that ST has a shot at getting a guaranteed win if they send him out. I'm a PRIME fanboy, love em or hate em, gotta sk8.
So the anti-team.
MMA is overvalued, that's about it. I was going to roll with Scarlett here but I traded in Killer so I could have SortOf. He's there for practice I highly doubt if he'll get playtime. Great guy, don't get me wrong but this is the GSTL. A special note here, I wanted Genius to be on my anti in the worst fucking way but he's on Azubu and they're strong. T_T So Killer, as much as I love ya, you're anti.
Main Team 6 Bomber (captain): my n1 favorite GSL player. hes gonna disappoint but fuck that 7 Jjakji: pretty much a no brainer 4 KeeN: dont usually like MVP but KeeN starts this week 4 RagnaroK: the next top zerg 3 Ruin: kid looks potential in PreSeason, and hes starter 3 Shine: with 5 points left, I figure Shine/TOP will be a good pick, might switch to Genius + filler though 2 TOP 3 TREME: heard hes good. he did get tons of playing time recently 4 now that TSL is gone, ST is the only team I cheer for
Anti Team 6 Ryung: torn between MKP & Ryung which I hate both, eventually go for the less risky choice 4 Scarlett: foreigner 3 SortOf: foreinger
I wanted to create a team based around IM with a few big hitters and the rest low point players who probably won't get played much, but tried to pick them from teams that I hope won't be losing too much. As for my anti team, I had pretty much the same idea. I didn't think viOLet would be worth that many points but I suppose it is kind of nice for me getting over half my needed anti team points done with him, since I don't think he will be doing that great.

Mind you that this is GSTL AK format, so having all 5 IM's players like that mean they won't have much chance to play. You'll most likely won't go far imo.
i had to swap in avenge because u had to have a player from each race. i feel pretty good about my team, different compared to the the other fantasy gstl's/fpl's. i just love mkp so i dont care, wouldve gotten him if he was 20 points. (i feelbad about ryung in the anti team, i feel like i still have to change that but i dont know who for t-t) scrap that, just switched squirtle in for ryung. also i switched out mma for gumiho and had to switch salvation in because gumihois 7 instead of mmas 6 scarlett and sc are really obvious anti team picks, dunno why not everyone got them. sc just returned and scarlett its not wol anymore
Main Team: Genius really showed potential in the preseason--I think for four points he's really quite a steal. NSHoseo will have to rely on Jjakji for the majority of their victories; he's worth the investment of 7 points as I think he'll turn up big quite often, and his TvT woes look solved from WoL. Salvation should start quite often, which is all I need from a 2 pointer. MC is probably the protoss that looks most in shape right now, and TREME showed potential in Zenex and looks hot in heart of the swarm, so that's that. Lucky and Shine are both solid zergs that will see lots of play, so 3 points is really quite reasonable for them. sC, well, FPL is go big or go home. So this is my gamble, I guess. sC was brilliant before his injuries, and from what I can tell he's relatively healthy right now. Azubu looked good, and they have a deep lineup.
Anti-Team: Alicia has been out of the scene for a while. ByuN doesn't seem too hot in heart of the swarm, and Killer is a 4 point player-coach so that's that, really.
IDK if it's just me but this was so damn hard with IM having so many good players, I was worried of having a lot of IM players so I stuck with few.
Ganzi - Terran and the way Terran play nowadays I feel like he will do Genius - Crank out those Stargate plays Gumiho - Can you imagine him with speed medivacs now o.0 Ruin - Sick Protoss player that's up and coming Scarlett - Gotta have that faith in her Seed - Strong Protoss in Beta Tails - He comes up with the best builds XTREME - Time for him to shine
MMA - Haven't showed me anything impressive but I'm hope I'm wrong and comes back with those epic medivac drops SortOf - Idk if he will be used honestly Swagger - I'm thinking his age will start to kick in and I don't like the name change lol
Must be disappointing for Opterown to see me picking MKP as team captain.
However, there is no safer bet, when it comes to GSTL, and regarding the fact Prime`s lineup is so thin, the man will have to carry everything on his shoulders. Make or Break for Prime, it all depends on the King of Marines.
GuMiho is a bit of a gamble, either he goes crazy and makes Flash`s MLG performance look like a slow multitasker, or he will go WTF and look like a pro gamer that never even touched HotS in his life before. However its Gumiho, ITS GUMIHO and this is his freaking league, thats right folks, hes back in his Arena, the Gumiho Starcraft Team League....and the rest is history.....
Squirtle is IM`s latest weapon to the arsenal, and oh what a Blast(oise)er he is. I just pray to LG-IM to make good use of him, else I will be mad, like reaaally maaaad. He proved his worth in StarTales a dozens times and there is hardly any other Protoss that is able to pull long streaks in All kill format.
Seed is IM`s other big Protoss in the Lineup. Towards End of WoL I wouldnt have picked him, but the former GSL Champion is back motivated, and he will be used regularly in GSTL because, he used to carry the team and he holds the flag of IM in GSTL and is one bad ass who hardly chokes under pressure, nuff said.
Dream is MVP`s best Terran (sorry KeeN), because he is an excellent TvP sniper, and he should come out in each and every of MVP`s matches, winning at least one game for them, when he faces an equally skilled Protoss. Thats all what he needs to accomplish, hes a good player to have for GSTL and therefore for a Fantasy team as well.
Ruin is one of IM`s possible openers among 3 I would say (Ragnarok, ByuL and Ruin), while I would have prefered a Zerg instead, Ruin was the cheapest of the 3 and still a player that is one of the most dangerous openers to face for any team. While maybe not appearing in all team matches, when he does he is a good bet to grab a first point for his team.
TREME is StarTale`s best Protoss nowadays, while this is a sad thing for ST fans, he offers good value here, because he should play in pretty much each of their matches and could become a dangerous Opener as well. Great value.
SSanaEE is HoSeo`s latest Zerg, I honestly dont know a damn thing about him, but he beat SangHo (now Swagger) in an opener match in Pre season, so he will most likely be used as an Opener or Protoss Sniper. Since NSH`s Lineup is pretty thin, he could get some playing time. Lets see what this youngster brings up to the table.
PRIME oh PRIME. My fantasy team will rely on how Foxer performs, I do think for how cheap they are, PRIME was a snapcall here. The Terrans are doing fairly good in Ladder, and Creator can randomly pull entire winning streaks. Altough I never cheered or even particularly liked them, this will be the first season to hope they`ll get their shit together.
Anti
MMA is one of the few players where you can say confidently that hes even outperforming NesTea in terms of which player was never able to recover from a never ending slump. I guess hes happy around foreigners though.
Swagger, wait...wha?! who is that guy?! SWAGGER?! That sounds so retarded. lemme guess someone with a name of a 14 year old gangsta like KILLER came up with that? Oh waaii waiiit isnt Killer already over 25? Damn....please return to SangHo....your gaming skills wont increase by stealing ``cool`` nicks from youtube.
SortOf, hello dear foreigner, this is Gangnam, Korea. You are not allowed to win here.
First, Antiteam Poor SC, lung problems, and retired then came back. I don't think he's in shape until maybe later in the tournament. JKS, never won until he recently won 2 games a few weeks ago. I don't think he can beat people now that the game is a month older than the games played, but who knows. And Byun is sort of...He's a good player sometimes. He's insanely good at TvP, so he can snipe, but other than that, I don't know.
Crank is the caption of AxiomAcer for 3 points, and since they are playing in the first week, he is likely to play and maybe score a few points, bringing his value up for trading. Who knows. If there is a balance patch coming up in the next few months, zerg will likely be buffed. But Life just won MLG going muta ling bane the whole tournament (well...sort of) and beat Flash 4-2. Not bad. 9 Points, yea, but oh well. RagnoraK went 4-2, beating Violet, Ryung, Heart, and Miya. I think RagnoraK is a good investment in the future, with a 4 point value. Ruin - Please beat Lucky. You seem good when you beat MMA. Salvation has been played out a lot for NsHoseo, so I think i can scrape a few points when he gets played a lot. Relatively cheap. Seed and Squirtle are sort of wild cards here. They both have been playing HOTS for a while, but I have no idea if they are good or not. Seed has been known to be playing a lot, but doesn't have the results...but he was 4 points. Ok. SSanaEE - NsHoseo please play him. Incredible Miracle should get the most points for me, simply because every player they have has a potential to all-kill the opponent. I also mostly chose IM since only 2 teams are going to be playing every week, so I can trade if I feel like it was a bad idea.
not picking zergs cause imo most zergs will have trouble adapting to hots gameplay with terran and protoss much stronger
Creator - probably the best protoss in the league as well as prime's true ace imo Bomber - strong player on startale and will score kills though he can be inconsistent Avenge - startale protoss.. they dont have much left so he will probably see play Jjakji - NSH's saving grace and he will be sent out as ace to break streaks and get kills Keen - experienced terran that will see play often. better choice then mvp imo Ruin - IM protoss with strong recent performances and starting today Supernova - solid HOTS play and top terran that will see play on azubu HogU - prime zerg. they dont have much of those too. so might see play but mostly to double up on prime points
PRIME - strong team with mkp maru byun and creator. will have strong / decent results
MC - although he is a monster in individual leagues but his results in team leagues have been underwhelming and will be see less play on a team with 5 top protosses. Scarlett / Sortof - foreigner nuff said
Seed is a steal at 4 points but after thinking it over I feel like Squirtle will be gold this season. He's new to IM and therefore more likely to be deployed, he was better than Seed in WoL, proven in team leagues, and is one of the very best protoss players on ladder right now. Also a very smart and innovative player so he probably has some tricks to pull out.
Oh thank god. I just felt awful having Nestea on my anti even though he belongs there. Sortof is also 3 points and even less likely to do anything this season so this is perfect. I can now cheer with 100% for Nestea.
ByuL out, TREME in: I was 1 over from adding Squirtle, and had to cut someone. Now that I think about it this is perfect. I'm not too saturated with 1 team, less Zerg (dat whine), and I totally forgot Treme is a Zenex upcomer (those tend to turn out well ^^). Also, Startale's protoss lineup took a big hit and it's up to Treme to spearhead the new generation of toss on that team.
Overall I am fairly happy with my team. I haven't been paying close enough attention as of late to the last few GSLs and other major tournaments. I began to pick starcraft back up a few months ago and am totally back into it as of MLG Dallas! Excited that I got into the fantasy league this time as I believe it will help to keep me involved in starcraft the way that I would like to be.
Life - I wanted to grab Life after that MLG Dallas performance, but he was far too expensive and I honestly feel that his style may get figured out. If that happens then Life may not do well enough to warrant his pricing.
Prime - I struggled between picking Prime or Startale and ultimately decided on Prime. Their players are solid enough to get a good amount of team wins and maybe even surprise some people, while the cost was very low.
My anti-team was pretty simple choice as well. Ryung and SortOf tend to not perform particularly well in team leagues if I recall correctly and sC has decided to join back in the competition. I chose sC because I feel that he will be rusty but will still get some action during the matches.
Unfortunately I just went mostly by players I had seen play before and recently as well as researching results a little bit in liquipedia. Here is my team and I wish everybody good luck this season!

And that's how we know you're telling the truth about not having paid much attention lately Life has been dominating tournaments left and right for months now. Nevertheless, he's probably not the best value for one's Fantasy Team, so good call there.

Ya, I'm kind of upset that I haven't paid as much attention lately. I knew Life had been doing well, just no idea how well and I couldn't justify the 9 points w/o knowing how well he truly had been doing. That and I only found out that sign-ups ended tonight an hour ago lol. So not enough time to seriously research all that I really wanted to.
Well I made a team composed mostly of ST and Axiom-Acer members since squirtle and parting left ST I'm guessing life would be carrying the whole team's weight making him my obvious captain also never forget that Axiom-Acer is just a rename for the Slayers Empire which went into the final round against FXO even with all the issues circulating around them having Crank and Alicia carry the team with Ryung as the closer also most of them still praise Miya for being an Anti-terran player so having a mix composition of ST and Axiom-Acer as a team with hopes that Axiom-Acer gets to the finals if not win the whole thing despite the super lineup of LG-IM
I haven't followed professional StarCraft II for over a year, so I tried picking players I knew from 2011. I'm not very competetive with this, obviously, but it's still a cool thing to do. As long as I get a few points here and there I'm happy.
Tried to get players that would get sent out a lot, which meant generally avoiding particularly large/deep teams. I ended up tripling down on Azubu, which may backfire horribly =/
no doubt this seems like a dumb question; but after you've made your team, how do you get back to the page where you can view all the fantasy teams, groups, standings, and the other tabs (i think there were 6 or 7 iirc) from the homepage? thanks in advance.
My team basically consists of players that are known to do well in team leagues (aside form Nestea and Aphrodite). The players I chose as my anti-team are players that are overhyped imo.
Life will carry StarTale incredibly well in this tournament, him and Bomber are the backbone of that team and look decent at HotS so far. Sound/Brain/Panic/Booster are there as fillers to collect team win points and may have the occasional snipe prepared for an opponent given the now awful P line up on StarTale and hardly stellar T's once Bomber is removed. If you also look who StarTale are playing they are not yet scheduled to play Incredible Miracle meaning they'll only be up against the lesser teams. NSH is basically a free win in their first week, MVP/Prime/AZUBU/FXO may all be a bit tougher but they're nothing like playing Incredible Miracle. Frankly I think Prime and MVP have poor rosters now and FXO looked bad in their first GSTL outing, AZUBU are a bit of a wildcard though. Shame StarTale aren't matched up against the other free win team that is AxiomAcer but you can't get it all.
Meanwhile this is Incredible Miracles tournament to win, the only problem being who the hell they are going to play. I don't think they'll play Mvp that much in team leagues, likewise I don't think they'll play Seed that much, if Hirai continues with the never play GSL winners strat. Also the Z lineup on IM is rather weak (read: not totally world class) so other than using it for snipes they'll probably stick to P and Ts. Step up IEM winners YoDa and First. YoDa bagging a win today and First unfortunately taking a back seat to the other dominant P on IM yet to win a GSL, Squirtle (Unfortunately it was a total 50/50 on who I picked given their race, team and cost - i'm really discounting YongHwa btw, overpriced). I'm sure he'll get his game time over the coming weeks though. MC jet sets around the world too much and, like Seed, has won a GSL meaning Hirai will obviously refuse to play him anyway most of the time. A solid win against FXO gives me a lot of confidence today, especially as they'll be up against a free win next 'round' in AxiomAcer, again while MVP/Prime and AZUBU might be more difficult to navigate I have no doubts that Incredible Miracle will be this seasons GSTL champions.
Anti Team
Eve - pick someone worth 1 point who is never going to play on a team that probably won't do very well, check.
Scarlett - pick the only foreigner in the tournament, totally over valued and overhyped, on a team who will never win, check. (Seriously, they even sent Crank to ESET UK Masters rather than have him play in their opening week!)
Leenock - pick someone who can't just make Infestors anymore and is totally overvalued these days, check. (PS: Let's not even send out GuMiho - good job FXO coach!)
Ryung is probably a better player to have on the team overall, but I have a feeling he'll get shut down by IM next week, who will prepare specifically for him going into the match, and Maru is basically a guaranteed appearance for Prime, and while he's a bit weak vs. Z I don't think Prime will field him vs. Z to start, and Azubu has a somewhat soft lineup, meaning I think he'll pick up more points in the next two weeks than Ryung would, making it cost effective.
Avenge seems an obvious mid-low cost choice, I feel ST is favoured in the matchup so he should pick up at least a point, and he seems the obvious go-to protoss-- he has more recent success than Treme, making him a likely show.

Thoughts?
I'd say Ryung/Maru is pretty equal. Ryung is a slightly better value (possibly ace of team and slightly better overall player), but Maru has one more game to play.
I wouldn't trade Lure for Avenge though. TREME has shown good play in HotS thus far and I'm fairly certain he's the protoss ace of the team now. Sound is starting this week, so it's unlikely StarTale will send in another B teamer, even against NSH. For the season as a whole, I'd be surprised if Avenge gets more than one appearance.

True to an extent I think, but MKP alleviates that a bit... in WoL he'd always screw things up by doing something crazy that looked cool but just sucked, but in HotS, nothing is really figured out so I think he can get away with it for the time being.

That's what I would think, but MKP just got absolutely SMASHED by jjakji at MLG by trying to do silly all-ins...

So happy I traded for Sound. Traded Sound for Ace and then traded Sparta for Ace again figuring that Ace gets decent GTSL play usually and that sound would get me a solid 1 point.
Ended up hitting the jackpot. Was creaming myself in Set 2 and Set 3, such great games.
Here's my team ATM:
YoDa MMA AcE BboongBboong 0 Classic Noblesse 0 Life MarineKing Sound Sting TOP
Turns out Byun was a good choice after all. Was a bit worried he would crash and burn from his nerves again, but a good all-kill should net me some points (bringing my team above negative score, woot!).
I have Sound on my team and now his trade value has skyrocketed. he's worth 37.56. I'm not sure whether to keep him, or trade for Gumiho while their trade value is equal. FXO didn't even field Gumiho last time, whereas ST are fielding their code B players more and more. Gumiho must be well practiced if they are sending him to Dreamhack... what would you guys do?
would you guys keep Yoda, or would you trade him for TvT specialist Ryung? If it comes to it, AX-Acer would get a win with Ryung sniping Yoda. but he seems to be less reliable vP/Z. the other option is trading Yoda for MKP. also, who do you think MVP are more likely to send out vs FXO: Noblesse or Vampire?

If I had sound right now, I'd trade for Gumiho in a second...
that said, I didn't have the foresight to trade for Sound in the first place, so my opinion isn't worth all that much at the moment.
I'm overly tempted to trade Sc or SortOf off my anti-team for Scarlett this week seeing as she is starting against MvP. Any thoughts on this as well as trading JKS for Dream.
I'm at 19 pts so far. I was so damn close to trading JKS for Sound last week and paid the price for not doing so. I did however have Byun from Day 1 so I'm happy about that one. I also had Prime as my team. It is tempting to trade Prime for IM this week as well. Any thoughts on my trade proposals?
So when do these usually get updated? i traded Lucky for Super (LOL at how that turned out) and now am looking to trade up for someone really good. when does trading usually open?
On an unrelated note I may already have YoDa in my team and Life (c) but I would provide sexual favours to get ByuN in to my team as he is basically guaranteed 10 points this weekend again. To those who have him in your team, or are able to trade Life for ByuN... lucky bastards.
