Edit: To clarify breakdown, there is 1 player from each eSF team in the top seed group and 4 players from each of the 7 eSF teams to make up for the 4 other groups. It is not clarified in the article if eSF chose the players or the teams chose the players
What's the logic behind the top seeds and the regular seeds? How/Why were the players selected for the top seed qualification group? It all sounds a little convoluted.
Why is MKP in a group if he already qualified... Other than that...

The upper seeds were probably decided by each eSF team selecting one player from their team to compete in it... Seeing how you know, there's one player from each of the 7 eSF teams...
and you didn't read the entire post. It clearly explains why there is a top seed group and normal seed groups...

Why would it be HOTS when they are playing WOL for this IPL

This is the first tourney format I do not fully understand (probably doesnt help that its 6:30 in the morning...) Hopefully Jjakji and MVP make it through.

each eSF team chooses four players to set up in single elim brackets. winner of each bracket gets a seed also, from each team, there is one player who gets a second chance to qualify

Could it be a smart move from Axiom to sign in eSF just for the sake of guaranteed spots ? I mean, after all, Acer-Axiom is the 8th GSTL team, it might make sense.
I guess it makes sense for IPL to have eSF qualifiers since their partner is GOM, but aren't 12 players from IPTL already coming? That's likely to be 12 eSF players already, I guess IPL6 will be invaded by top eSF Koreans again ( Not that I'm unhappy about that ).

Is there a reason why your team can't join? Aside from the occasional scandal, the ESF doesn't seem so bad.
Yep, eSF actively searches deals with other tournament organizations to benefit their members. Seems like they are doing a good job to me, I thought that is how organization works.

You know except for the whole Slayers scandal and the President resigning in shame.

Thanks Dimano! If it's not too much to ask, is it possible to add that as a tab as one of the qualifiers to the IPL6 main event page? Sounds like a good place to put it if its not too much work.
It's a shame the maps seem horribly far behind the current curve (Neo Planet S being the best map for example), but hopefully they can shake it up for HoTS and beyond.

Well, after these qualifiers, 38/40 spots will have been taken up. So I doubt we will get a Kespa tournament,

No kespa player participated in the open qualifiers, so I assume they don't want/can't participate in ipl
