I think that IPL's weekly content is superb relative to other major leagues. I will tune into rebroadcasts all the time Fight Club especially is fantastically fun (though I preferred HyuN club myself)

I hope so, I do enjoy IPL's live events much more than MLG's.
But did David Ting say that before or after IGN was bought? Because if I bought a company and they had a product that was losing them money (IPL) that would be one of the first things I'd cut.

I really hope that IGN isn't in trouble or anything. I suppose if sponsors are continuing to sponsor though the everything can't be too bad.

Ziff Davis is back? Seems kind of weird they close out 1up then decide to buy IGN a few years down the road

I still don't understand why IGN has fallen so hard in worth. Between them and gamespot I don't really check many other gaming oriented review/news sites. Also I wouldn't worry too much about IPL, I imagine they will keep it going.

Good riddance
You know what they say you can't spell ignorant without IGN

The 650 million OP speaks of, wasn't that back in 2005-2006 when IGN Entertainment existed which was allot of other sites and just and not the current IGN? Didn't they like sell off allout of IGN to what it is now?

When they switched owners before in like 06 or something.
IPL is fairly independent financially so this may not affect them at all, wouldn't worry until there is something to worry about.

IGN doesn't review games, they advocate for them. Maybe people stopped reading after realizing IGN can't be taken seriously lol.

Doritos and Mountain Dew to purchase IGN.

That becomes void when you have new ownership.

Yeah that is extremely true. That said, who needs game reviews these days anyways. Basically you can tell what is going to be good or not way before it comes out. Reviews are mostly just for entertainment purposes nowadays.

is this a good or a bad thing?

Well reviews work but only if you know the person that reviewed it and his/her tastes. Giantbomb does this well cause the reviewer aint just a name, you can see an hear these people on their site and after a while you know which games they like and not.

Wow, big news, do hope the new buyers have a new direction for IGN. Could quite possible mean the cancellation of IPL 6...even if not because the new owners don't want it, just because it is to soon since they have taken it over and such.

It is a stupid example.

Well at least Machinima aren't buying it. That'd be horrible for everyone involved.
