Think it is a move made of win. He has competed in a worse environment, while still maintaining his university studies. Now he can make more money, master the English language even better, gain more popularity, and could even focus even more on studies and still be highly competitive.

It is good for NA as well.

It's actually not good for NA at all, do you have any idea how hard it is to go from nothing to a successful pro gamer in NA?

All the MLG's are filled with Koreans, all the NASL's are filled with Koreans, all the IPL's are filled with even more Koreans.

There are no events that aren't extremely extremely difficult to win. In EU, the Koreans don't travel there as much and you actually have a shot at winning something like a dreamhack, homestory cup, or IEM.

The smallest NA LAN I can think of in the last year was http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/GIGABYTE_ESPORTS_LAN_Invitational and it was dominated by Koreans too

America is their playground, they take 90%+ of the money from every premier event.

Now that Polt is moving to NA, he can play in NA qualifiers for events like MLG or IPL. Previously he had to fight the entirety of Code A and S for spots in those tournaments, now he gets to prey on weaker NA gamers and get easy spots. If enough good Korean pro gamers move to NA you will never see a real NA player in a premier tournament ever again.

And no they aren't going to restrict access to polt from playing in NA qualifiers, technically he is NA and it would be unfair to make him play with lag on KR to qualify. Golden and Sleep played NA qualifiers.

Why do you need to be so dark . Think about long term, top class players moving to NA could potentially make their ladder more competitive, therefore raising the skill of possible training partners.

In the long term NA pro gamers won't exist outside of EG and complexity, because they have no opportunities outside WCS to actually compete with players equal to their skill. What's happening is NA " pro gamers " are becoming NA " semi pro gamers " and they play on the side while working other jobs or being in school, leading to low level play on average. The only way to fix this is to inject money into NA events that only NA players can join, build something competitive and sustainable. The level of play will rise by itself if people have something to strive for, if there's a NA GSL suddenly being the best in NA will make you lots of money and It's worth it to spend a lot of time training.

Unfortunately in reality this is never going to happen and NA pro teams and pro gamers will die out, they've already begun to in fact.

Sounds good, but how much help would he be if ha can't play in korean teamleagues? Liquid needs another player or two for those imo.

With Liquid, Polt can stay in form and not rust like he would in EG, and he'd be the perfect candidate to represent Liquid in foreign events while the rest of Liquid+T8.Jaedong are carrying the burden of the so-called "Unholy Alliance" in Proleague.

Polt is a handsome debonair, not a frat kid. Either way, it's great to hear that he won't stop playing.

Ze EG Curse? Are you stupid? :p

Why would he rust on EG but not Liquid? Come on now, stop parroting talking points

maybe because EG pays better = more financial security = less drive to succeed in tournaments? i dno lol

Come on man, you're a respected member of the community, please don't give credence to this nonsense. So being paid more is bad for a player's performance? Having financial security so that players don't have to worry whether or not they can pay their rent hurts their ability or motivation to perform?

I'm not really a fan of EG, but they get a lot of unwarranted shit in these forums. I'm indifferent if Polt joins them, but it would be cool to see Polt and Stephano as teammates.

Why would he join EG when he want to live in America especially with the unholy alliance o.O I think complexity is a better choice for him if he were to just play in America and studying at the same time. Haha hopefully he will turn out like violet who got better after going to America.

Polt to TL is the most predictable thing in the world. It will be a few days, but it will happen. It's a perfect match and TL just can't pass this up.

I think it depends how long the contracts are as well. Since I think most contracts are 1 year, I don't think the players want to slack off too much since they want to maintain a level where their next contract would even pay more.

I think if he would go to one of those two teams there would have been more rumors about it.. so maybe a smaller team?

I think you're wondering my next team. Actually I didn't find a new team to be well mannered to TSL. So I don't know anything yet.
