Making the person interviewed as uncomfortable as possible is not entertaining to me, but I guess I´m weird that way.
You would have to have watched the other hotbid naniwa interviews for the past two years to truly appreciate it. they're both trolling each other the whole time.
Amazes me how much people slob on HotBid's knob, it's almost sickening.... his interviews are piss poor, unprofessional and I don't find them funny. I guess it's just my opinion but I'd much rather prefer Richard Lewis or even Slasher as they do it the right way.
Some content is better than no content though, I guess.

The difference is that Hot Bid is not representing some news agency like Cadred or Gamespot, where we'd be inclined to expect professionalism, or standard questions. Having worked for several organizations in the past as a writer, fans and viewers respond way more to questions that aren't your run-of-the-mill interview questions, because they always evoke the same scripted and boring answers, whereas unconventional questions and conversation give us something new.
These interviews, while being fun and off-the-cuff, allow us to see players in a more normalized, and laid back setting. We get a more truer glimpse into how they think, how they act, and especially how they can deal with Hot Bid's trolling. It's far more entertaining than seeing people "do it the right way." (Just pay attention to the GomTV interview segments and tell me if you notice a theme)
Nobody Interviews quite like Hotbid doesn't ask them to describe each game I hate that. Hotbid should be flown in to every tournament early and interview each player to be shown between matches to cut down on Down time.
I wish I could have seen Genna's players' faces when at first very seriously a "team meeting" was called, then they end up in the Apple Store on The Strip and each get an iPad as a present for xmas. xD

Second that. Chae always has good things to say. Especially with the recent events. You actually made me feel a bit sorry for nani :D Fabulously silly interview.
Can't believe that Naniwa really thinks there are no elections in Sweden . Hilarious interview, he's the only one who can compete with Major in terms of awkwardness. Love both of 'em
oh my god the Naniwa interview is pure gold :D Laughed so hard. Nani is the best xD Also, I have a total crush on smix <3 Thanks for doing these interviews Hotbid! They never fail to entertain. But it looks like some people are adapting, maybe you need to work on some new strats
Hot Bid was suuuch a dick for the first five minutes of it, but Naniwa's last line, and the fact that Hot Bid was totally confused around 8:20-8:35 ("Are you fucking with me?") made it totally worth it.
The CatZ interview was hilarious and ridiculous... shame on Hot Bid for having a history degree and not knowing what the correct voting age is though CatZ was correct on that question.
I think that Naniwa interview was pretty nice actually. Hotbid made it OK to be awkward. And if you're a native english speaker, just imagine being interviewed by a spanish guy who is just casually talking in spanish about whatever and interviewing you in spanish and then you would have to reply to him in spanish and then have the interview viewed by a mainly spanish speaking audience who will judge whether you were awkward in the interview or not.
Of course it's not quite comparable but still, the language barrier is still there. Nevertheless I think this was actually good. Hotbid obviously interviews a non-english speaking guy in english and that non-english speaking guy replies in english and considering that Naniwa's answers were very unawkward, even though awkwardness was kind of the topic of the interview. But if Hotbid had interviewed Nani in swedish I would imagine the general audience would find it even less awkward. On Naniwa's part at least. But anyway, I like Hotbid. His interviews are always fun.
Certainly Nani is naturally a different kind of guy but give him 5 years in this environment and he will give you completely PR perfect answers in language of your choosing. But I would say those interviews will be less interesting.
Hotbid's key point is to interrupt his interviewee the moment when the interviewee actually has some thought that he tries to follow through and tell the story. That is kind of good and bad at the same time. It demands quite a lot of patience from the interviewee but if he has the patience it is quite good. Just watched the Jinro interview and that was very good.

I agree with that actually. But at the same time, Hotbid style requires an interviewee that doesn't get annoyed by being constantly interrupted while they are trying to answer a question. If the interviewee is perfectly OK with this then it will be awesome.
Or, if the interviewee has so poor english (assuming that Hotbid is only interviewing in english) that he can barely come up with any response then it devolves to the level that any other interviews are.

You like hearing the kind of interviews that MLG does after every match?
What's going through your mind right now? Do you think you can win? How are you going to prepare for your next match? Have you studied your opponent? What do you think your chances are to win the whole tournament? Who do you think is the favorite to win?
You like those? Because that's what every "professional" interview is like. And it's hard to watch, and it's not entertaining. you don't have to like Hotbid's interviews, that's entirely subjective. But I like hearing them talk about random shit, and seeing their personality and whatnot.
I love Hotbid's interviews because they're not dull and stupid. No need to be amazed that people like this kind of thing.

No probably not, but like someone else had noted above, I think a majority appreciate seeing more personality out of the players than the standard "both teams played hard, give 110%, etc".
Brilliant Naniwa interview. The dynamic between Hotbid and Nani is really entertaining.
You could add some sort of description about who the people are; most people probably have no idea who Axiom's Genna Bain, JoshSuth or Smix are and what they do.
To be honest I find it really fascinating(not in a bad way though), that there are people who dont like those Interviews and even though I am always stoked for the tournament that goes along with them, I have to admit that I do look forward to them even more then most of the tournament itself, excluding the final day which is on par.
