Maybe it's to get all the tournament organizers on the same page and gives them time to adjust if needed. Yep, it's strange. All release announcements from Blizzard over the past several years have been 2 months out from release. This one is 4 months. By March, the beta would have run for 7 months, which is quite long. WOL beta ran for 6 months.

All Blizzard games for as long as I can remember have been priced in exactly the same way: Original = $60. Expansion = $40. All of them, even as far back as the WC3 days. There is no exception, and HotS is exactly the same. I was not surprised to see that HotS will cost $40, because all Blizzard expansions cost $40.

Everything they do takes a long time it's been that way for as long as I can remember. It's part of their brand. No one gains anything by whining about it, they're not going to change in this regard. As long as it's a good product when it's released no one really gives a shit if we have to wait for it.

Im not wining about release date because it dont affect me. Just wondering thats all. Perhaps you are right and its really a development and not a marketing decision. If they really need so long for this addon, they are even by their own standards slow.

Thats 100 bucks just to get into a new game, quiet a lot if you ask me. Good thing blizzard has so many brainless fanboys who'll buy anything that has blizzard on it. They will drop the price of WoL to like $20. Don't be silly. BTW -- to people doubting the date... I don't think Blizzard has ever missed a game release date once it has been officially set.

I've blown more than the price of HOTS in a single night of drinking at a bar with my friends. I've blown a few times the price of HOTS on single date nights. 40 bucks for a game I'll be playing for at least 2 years that will provide me with HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay? It's a no brainer. Best purchase I'll make of 2013 easily.
