You know, I was never really into foreign BW but I remember catching the TSL final and smiling as I watched JF pull that miracle comeback. I didn't really watch TSL2 but TSL3 was a thing of beauty. Watched the whole way through and was without a doubt the best SC2 tourney to date.

TSL4, I haven't been as excited about to be honest. The intro, while good, has no chance of matching up to the TSL3 intro. The players aren't as interesting (imo) and only Koreans are left, but this article has me hyped up. Definitely going to catch the finals.

Awesome right up but makes me sad that I really don't care for TSL4 I watched the first couple rounds but I just didn't feel the hype or care to much about the other games. Reading about TSL2 makes me want to go play some more BW

I like this post. It adds a more regal sort of hype to it. That story is so important in terms of giving a tournament presence.

Idra vs. Nony was quite possibly the silliest series of all time, I didn't really watch any TSL 1 and only got to watch a bit of TSL 3/4, but the production and work put into each one is consistently good, hope they continue living up to that in the future.

ps. force Jinro to cast some of tsl 5. Please.

Awesome writeup FiWiFaKi! Excellent timing on it as well, maybe alot of new guys don't understand why people are getting excited over this "...Online tournament, yirk - Can't wait to see the finals tomorrow!

Beastly sports day tomorrow by the way, with the King stage of Vuelta E'spania in the afternoon, and then TSL in the evening... Going out on a saturday? Who needs it!

A fun fact is, that TSL is the 2nd longest running Starcraft tournament in the world - OSL is obviously still going, but as far as I can tell, TSL is #2.

This history is why I feel that despite the lack of million dollar stages and prize pools, the TSL is still a premiere tournament. It's a wide open qualifier to anyone in the hopes of finding the best of the best... and it's the foreign scene's longest enduring tournament. It may not have a massive crowd and a costly venue, but it has the heart and soul of TL in it.
