It might work like the GSL Point Ranking system, where a Finals + (however far Prime and Startale got last season) gives more points that Fnatic's and Hoseo's performances.

I suppose that makes sense but I'll wait until they properly announce the next GSTL season.

Slightly off topic, but what happened to the GSTL fantasy thing? It was fun a couple seasons ago.

Also (half )thanks Seeker, appreciated as always.

IMHO TL should do more to encourage interview translations. Gfx team, writers, mods etc all have a special icon, we need one for translators as well.

It was stopped because of format changes no?

When it started the GSTL was using a superior group format

Got rid of it because it switched from a league format to an elimination bracket. You'll note that the fantasy season ended when the GSTL went to the playoffs. That's because fantasy works better without elimination. Fantasy football/handegg also ends with the regular season and doesn't include the playoffs.
Life is too short to take it seriously.

if you've had a Red Bull, you've had a Bacchus/Hot6iX.

Dude, this hurts your credibility quite a bit. Red bull and Bacchus is not even REMOTELY alike. Bananas and pizzas are more alike than Red bull and Bacchus.

I think the main active ingridient is the same? Although Red Bull and Hot6iX is the better comparison. Bacchus, while containing the main active ingridient wasn't really marketed as a ENERGY drink. Red Bull, Hot6iX are.

I don't care if the active ingredient is the same. What I'm saying is that no one on their right mind can say RedBull and Bacchus taste even somehow alike, let alone the same.

No, it's not thick at all. It flows like any drink out there would. As for the taste... yea it's not for everybody.

He said not in taste but in notoriety (Bacchus is more popular than Hot6 and Red Bull is probably more popular than 5 Hr energy)

You're not really missing anything special. Even thought Hot6iX is only sold in Korea, if you've had a Red Bull, you've had a Bacchus/Hot6iX.

So, if I've had a RedBull, I've had a Bacchus, since they are quite similar in... notoriety? I don't follow this logic.

Yeah, Bacchus is not carbonated for one and has more of a herbal bitter aftertaste than Red Bull.

How does that sentence not make sense? He wasnt comparing the taste, he was comparing their (Bacchus and Hot6) popularity to how popular Red Bull and 5 Hr energy are in America. It has nothing to do with the taste. Do you need me to dumb it down more?

I live in Brazil.
Over here we play this thing called soccer. It's the most popular sport.
Oh, you live in US and don't know what it is?
Well, you've played American Football, you've played soccer, since it's similar... notoriety wise.

Hope I've illustrated well your logic, and notice why sane people would find it strange.

Yeah it's kind of unsettling

Yeah I kinda agree. It's inappropriate.

Definitely. Seeker thank you for doing this translation but your personal opinion on Hot6ix is better suited for Blogs, and not for a thread which is basically about Hot6ix being so nice to sponsor a lot of Gom stuff. Although is was kinda fun to read.

Also agree with nokz88, i definitely understand that sentence like him.

Pocari Sweat sucks, and it's expensive at my local Mitsuwa. The taste reminds me of melted lemon lime big stick popsicles. The saving grace for me was when I put it in the freezer until near frozen point; it was actually good and refreshing, but that's too much of a hassle.

uhh this is the single worst comparison I have ever seen.. burgers? Both Hot6ix and Redbull are energy drinks. Him saying that if you have had redbull you have had Hot6iX is a good comparison. Perhaps they taste very similar. A burger and rice are not the same thing.. His comments almost come off as if he is not comparing redbull's taste to the others anyways. It seemed as if he compared hot6 and bachus or w/e.

But hurts his credibility? Heh

SeeKeR, I am so disappointed Anyways here's the full translation:

Hot6ix continues to sponsor the GSL for Seasons 4 and 5
During 2012, Hot6ix sponsors six out of eight GSL tournaments

The remaining seasons of the 2012 GSL tour have been infused with "Energy up! Power up, Hot6ix!"

On the 30th of August, GOMTV announced through their talk show, Baneling, that Hot6ix of Lotte Chilsung Beverages would continue to sponsor the GSL through Seasons 4 and 5.

Hot6ix began to sponsor the 2012 GSL tour during GSL Season 1. From there, having seen sales growth of over 10% compared to the previous year, it decided to continue and sponsor GSL Season 2 as well.

The rise caused by the GSL didn't cease. According to industry officials, Hot6ix's marketing budget, slated for cuts due to sluggish sales, was maintained due to the sponsorship of the GSL, and this was the driving force that allowed the Busan Haeundae finals and even terrestrial advertising [T/N: I believe this means advertising for the GSL, though I could be wrong] to happen.

Having seen the synergistic effects of the GSL-Hot6ix sponsorship, Lotte Chilsung Beverages chose to sponsor the GSTL Seasons 2 and 3, gaining great popularity with the fans, and just earlier decided to sponsor GSL Seasons 4 and 5.

Hot6ix has become a major sponsor for the GSL, sponsoring six out of eight seasons of the 2012 GSL tour. Out of the five GSL tournaments, Hot6ix has sponsored four of the events, with the only exception being the Monsieur J GSL Season 3. Out of the three GSTL tournaments, Hot6ix has sponsored two, with Season 1 being sponsor-less.

This ongoing sponsorship of the GSL by Hot6ix has allowed GOMTV to run a stable league from which both the league organizers and sponsors are able to benefit.

The Code S Ro32 of the Hot6ix GSL Season 4 is marked to begin on September 3rd, and the first round of the Hot6ix GSTL Season 3 will will start on September 7th, proceeding with the cooperation between the GSL tour and Hot6ix.

Probably not, I'd imagine KeSPA is pretty upset with GOM still from last week and is only going to cooperate the bare minimum.

I'd hope I'm wrong though.

Here's GOM's announcement regarding GSTL from today:

http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?topicid=224413&cid=0&kind=8

Teams of Season 3 are FXOpen, TSL, Prime, SlayerS, StarTale, MVP, NSH, LG-IM, FnaticRC

Shame that EG and Liquid could not come to an agreement to co-op as a GSTL team this last 2012 season together.

Without Jinro and Ret there was absolutely no way for Liquid to play in the GSTL anymore... which is fine, they are a free win right this second. Give them time.

just go to Gomtv.net make and account or sign in with your FB or twitter, and then you can watch when the stream goes life. There is a free stream but sadly is really bad quality but you can make due if you just started watching.

Hey now, Team Taeja is never a free win. And HerO just did really well last night. But yeah, it's disappointing but understandable that they won't be competing in the upcoming GSTL.

I hope Startale can take it this time around. Their exit in the last GSTL was so disappointing.

Come on LG-IM! You can't win IPL TAC and then go out round 1 again in GSTL. I might actually snap.

The main reason they will not be competing is that they only have 4 active players in Korea at the moment. Jinro retired and HayprO left Korea. A co-op with another team (for instance EG who are in a similar situation) would have been an option, but -- alas -- it wasn't meant to be.

Can anyone say whether or not paying for gsl over another league like nasl is worth it? I only have time to watch one league and getting nasl would allow me to watch on ipad for free and the streams are 1080p compared to goms 560 which is pretty low res considering the other leagues. Thoughts?

what if it's some godlike angel sweat? lol..

It has a few drops of Reach the Mantoss sweat, some Flash tears, designed by the Hair toss Bisu, and quality controlled by Jaedong, and Finally packaged and marketed by Boxer.

I watch pretty much everything and I think NASL this season is going to be fantastic. There's even a promo code for $3 off now (maybe nasl_rotti?)

For $13 you get around twice as many games in much much better quality, and the player pool is just about as good and perhaps more interesting. It's going to run for about 4 months while gsl already started.
Also tasteless is really starting to bug me as a caster, while I love Rotterdam and I've really grown to respect Gretorp watching the NASL Hots stream. (For instance in the GSL LR thread, they were joking that they would bet anything that Tasteless has never seen a single By.Sun game let alone play ladder on his free time, meanwhile these NASL casters are running overnight Hots play marathons when the beta comes out)

Is there any detailed information or images of Grand Lagoon? Can't seem to find anything about it on TL and it's not uploaded to NA server.
