It’s an event tournament but you have won. How do you feel?
Frankly, I didn’t expect much coming to America but I am very happy to have won. I am proud of the fact that I have improved slightly.
In a prior interview, you said you’d be okay even if you didn’t win
Honestly, I just wanted to win my first match. Once I took the first match, I started playing without pressure which helped, I think.
You won every game
I think luck was on my side today and I got lucky with the builds I chose. Luck was 80% of the reason why I won.
You used an all-in build twice in a row against Stork
I didn’t prepare them. I wanted to macro up but in Set 1, my keyboard malfunctioned. Playing with the mouse only, I had a lot resources saved up. It was a strategy I chose to end the match early but I got lucky.
In both your games on Daybreak, you used proxy raxes
It’s a build I learned most recently. Seeing it in action in the GSL, it looked rather strong. You can pressure at the same time as taking an expansion. That’s why I tried it out today and it worked rather well.
Your most memorable game today?
The match against Soulkey. Especially Set 2 where I was set behind by his mutalisks. However, I had good control today.
How are you improving so quickly?
Initially when I started Starcraft 2, people expected so much from me that I also expected myself to improve very quickly. Then, I didn’t improve as quickly as I wanted and was despairing.
However, two weeks ago, my ladder rank started soaring all of a sudden which gave me confidence on top of taking a win in Proleague. I think my skill rose along with my confidence.
Is there something you want to say to the foreign fans?
I am so grateful. I may have seen a larger crowd but, a cheer like that, you would only see once per year. It makes me proud and I want to thank the fans who cheered for me. If possible, I want to attend as many foreign tournaments as possible.
After your games today, people are comparing you to Marineking. Are there any players you studied?
I studied MVP, MMA and MKP mostly. I feel like those three players are exceptional. Especially out of the three, MKP’s marine control is amazing so I am trying to imitate that even if I am not quite as good right now. Control helps especially in TvP.
Did you try HoTs? If so, how was it?
I did. I think it’s going to be fun. For Terran, there aren’t too many changes. I’m sure a lot of things will change in the future but I’m disappointed we get only one unit, the widow mine. I think having more units is more interesting so this is a bit of a disappointment.
How was the widow mine?
It’s very powerful. However, it leaves me wanting more. Still, I should be able to utilise it in tournament games. Protoss and Zergs have really powerful units added to them. I envy the other races since Terran doesn’t get any. I think Terrans are the only ones complaining.

I am aware of what the world expects of me. I will make sure to show games in Starcraft 2 that are as good as the ones I showed in Starcraft 1. I will work hard even if it means I have to get another operation on my arm.

So flash considered the widow mine as the only unit added to hots and not warhound and battle helion ? Interesting....

WM is the only original unit. Battle hellion is a transformation. I want agree on warhound but to some it seems like a thor replacement for tvp... not that it is a bad unit, I like it.
No new caster units like P/Z got and no improvement or overhaul to current caster units for T (like ravens).

Warhound = bigger marauder
Battle Hellion = Hellion upgrade
I can see the logic.

I like how Flash doesn't even acknowledge the Battle hellion and warhound. Pretty much sums up my feelings on the two units.

Sooo impressed by Flash, doesn't need support by the LAN crew when his keyboard isn't functioning as it should, he just defeats his opponent with his mouse.

I'm so happy that people outside of the Brood War scene now have the chance to enjoy his games. I think the last sentence really shows his mindset the best, and why he will eventually rise to the top of this new game.
